Absolutely loved ordering from this place through DoorDash! They have an amazing selection of gluten-free and vegetarian options, which made it easy to find something delicious. The fresh spring rolls weren't my favorite--they had way too much lettuce and not enough of the other fillings. However, the sweet and sour sauce was absolutely delicious! The drunken noodles with tofu and veggies were incredible--packed with flavor and absolutely delicious! Fair warning, though: they are definitely spicy as-is. I'm so thankful I didn't increase the spice level because they already had plenty of heat! Good fast Thai food with excellent portions. It comes out quick. We were seated quickly on a Sunday evening. I liked my drunken noodles, I found the flavor to be a little too salty but that's just me. The red curry is very good and it's enough for another meal if you take it home and make your own rice, or get a side of rice to go. We visited on Monday (President's Day), and it was clear they hadn't anticipated the lunch rush--there were only two servers for the entire restaurant. We requested water three times and never received any. I ordered a mimosa but was served a pomegranate one instead. When I mentioned it wasn't what I wanted, the server explained they were out of orange juice and had given me the pomegranate version (which cost an extra dollar) without asking. I would've preferred just champagne. My boyfriend ordered coconut water, but they were out, so he ended up with a Lemongrass Ginger tea, which was very good. The food took over 30 minutes to arrive, and the gyozas were cold when they came out, so we sent them back. My beef curry was tasty, and my boyfriend liked his salad. However, the service was rough--tables around us had similar issues. The neighboring table had to ask for their check twice, and everyone, including us, had to grab their own to-go boxes and silverware from the server station. I'll chalk this up to a holiday staffing issue, but next time we crave Madam Mam's, we'll stick to takeout. read more

My friend from out of town and I went for an early dinner, so it wasn't super busy. Service was good as always. We ordered numerous things from the menu. I always seem to get the same thing so I was exploring more of the menu and still got my favorite soup Tom Kha. That was a given but for a soup, it's priced like an entree. The portions this time were a lot better than what I remember. Definitely bigger than what I've had at the Anderson location. The Thai tea was amazing. Pit server couldn't say what kind of tea it was but to me it had an earl grey type flavor of bergamot. We sampled a couple types of wings and the seasoning was just the right amount of spice. The green papaya salad cover been better as the flavors hadn't marinated enough to blend with the papaya. The sweet rice dish was the best my friend had ever tasted. That was her salad. I've never been to any of these locations but there was parking!!! You know it's hard to go wrong when there's parking. I loved how clean everything was and the service was great. I had the salad with sliced beef and it was so good! Very simple, clean ingredients and the dressing was delicious. If you eat the red peppers in the dressing, it will be extremely hot but if you strain them out, it's the perfect amount of mild heat. All the food tasted fresh and hot. The hot tea was a bonus. It was sunset and when the sun was in my face, we lowered the sun shades. Next time I'll try dessert. read more

I love their pad thai, their pad sea ew, and especially their madam masam curry. The curry has potatoes, beef, and peanuts- the perfect combination to a delicious and sweet curry. Then we shared the drunken noodles and Pad Prik Gang with Shrimp (special curry). This had a spice rating of 4 and it was spicy but still had great flavor! We've eaten here 3x in the past few months and while some of our food has been meh at best (the pad Thai was really disappointing) the number p42 special curry is what gets this a 5* Our first time here we dined in and I was super bummed when they didn't have the papaya salad available. I settled for the Tom yam soup and it was good - serving was massive. My husband got the #p41 special beef curry and we haven't looked back since. This curry is honestly delicious. HUGE serving (honestly enough for both of us plus a lunch serving as long as you get an extra side of jasmine rice). Thick, delicious coconut base- amazing spices. Honestly, the perfect comfort meal for these cold days. It doesn't look super appetizing especially when delivered but again, if you're into thick, well-spiced, coconut based curries this is a huge win! read more

So we will often get madam man's for masaman chicken curry, chicken pad see ew with flat noodles, and madam rolls. All very good, every time we get it. BUT today we ordered the mango sticky rice for dessert and it blew our minds! So damn good! Like what!? Why haven't we ever ordered it before?! It's like we have wasted the last five years of our lives ordering from madam mam's without dessert. So yeah, do yourself a favor and order it next time you order. I ordered their chicken pad krapow, which came out in an unconventional clay pot. This meant my first bite destroyed my tongue. The egg was barely runny before the radiant heat cooked it thru. Still really tasty, plenty of red chilis sprinkled throughout. The crispy rice along the clay pot was flavorful and had a great texture. I think Madam Mams hit the spot for our party, with compliments to the papaya salad and po tak seafood soup. The kao soi maybe had a bit too much curry powder/paste? After my first pleasant experience with Madam Mam's on W Anderson, I thought I should share the love by bringing my partner in. We ordered the Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles), the Zesty Red Wings, and the Tom Yum Soup to share. I shouldn't have hyped up Madam Mam's so much, because as soon as we started eating our food, I felt like I had to bribe myself that it wasn't so bad... I enjoy a fiery red Tom Yum Soup, but instead, was surprised with how clear the broth was. There is no proper way to make this dish, but there is one word that comes to mind, "TLC"--tender loving care, which Madam Mam's does not nurture into their dishes. Instead of the chefs grinding the ingredients into a paste to create that rich, gritty texture, I could tell they boiled the soup with the spices... which is obvious in how simple the appearance is. The soup was too tart for my liking and lacked substance. I was looking for the traditional Thai fish sauce wings served at traditional Thai restaurants, only to find several options, with no fish sauce in sight. We opted for the Zesty Red, which was tossed in a lemongrass, ginger, & chili paste mixture. The wings were crispy, but the flavors were just too herbal and needed a balance to tone down the meal. Don't bother asking to modify the spice level of these dishes ie: Pad Kee Mao, as Madam Mam's can only elevate the spice level from painfully spicy to death of the taste buds. I don't recommend this as a first date or with anyone you're trying to impress, unless you're okay with being drenched in sweat or having a runny nose. read more

We were in south Austin for some work, and wanted to try out the some food truck, but unfortunately it was close, and passing by we noticed Madam Mam's, checked the reviews and decided to try out, glad we did, we loved it. Hubby got Tofu pad Thai, myself chicken green curry and kiddo ordered shrimp red curry, everything was good, portions are good, enough protein, nice coconut flavor in curries, hubby was happy with pad Thai. The thing I loved most is, in curry they add protein and bamboo shoots, that's it, they don't dump too much of Thai eggplants(mostly undercooked), bell peppers like most of the Thai restaurants do, because they don't add veggies, there was enough curry left out even for dinner, just wish they were closer to our home:( Definitely try this place out!! read more

Something that stirs my heart is individually owned and operated, mom and pop restaurants. They tend to be authentic and value traditional flavors and an old way of doing things. While Madam Mam's has several establishments, you can tell as soon as you enter the doors they craft the atmosphere with generations of experience. I talked briefly with the owners and they told me they frequent all of their restaurants several times a week to ensure quality control. I agree whole heartedly. My date had never had Pad Thai before which blew me away so I was on a personal crusade to change that. After two weeks I had my heart set on some Garee Curry (yellow for the regular white folk like me). We entered and the place oozed culture. Gold head sculptures on ledges, bridge cages hanging from the ceiling, warm traditional paintings adorning the walls and the smell of great Thai food. The bar is small but inviting, having a couple TVs for those who actually take their eyes of a phone for a few seconds. Entering the dining area, it was refreshing to see more than half the tables full with customers enjoying themselves in light conversation. I ordered a sweet tea with Chrysanthemum and it was marvelous. I just loved the floral aspects that were on the back of the palate after the tea flavors gave way. Me and my date were hungry but not overly so, knowing that we had a full meal ahead of us. We "rock / paper /scissors" our decision on an app and ordered the Madam rolls. These are so darn good. I actually like fried spring rolls more than egg rolls as there's more crunch and less dough to the roll. The filling was stuffed full of bean noodles, cabbage, carrots, mushrooms and spices. The rolls lasted approximately 1 minute and I even debated eating the sweet and sour sauce on my spoon. I highly advise getting an order if you so decide on apps. I debated the Gyoza and Satay but that will be another time I suppose. After some pleasant banter with the wonderful waitress our food arrived. I asked my date if she could pick up on the Nam pla (fish sauce) and see said "something fish funky I guess" which was spot on. A very subtle background note. She loved the dish but couldn't finish it all. I enjoyed my two bites as well. Great flavor, yummy texture especially with the raw bean sprouts and perfect heat for me. The only thing I will note is it took a while to get a refill on my drink, but in this heat, I think everyone is over hydrating lately. I ordered the yellow curry "white man mild" with pork. The waitress said "we'll have to put more coconut milk to cool it a bit". Perfect! I love coconut milk and when the order came out, I had a huge bowl of curry goodness. Thick, rich and creamy with a perfectly flavor a home chef can't replicate. Generally yellow curry comes with carrots but alas their version didn't. No matter, plenty of other ingredients to carry to curry from spoon to tongue. The rice was perfect and while I could have eaten it all, I paced myself and took some home. Outside of Austin, this was my best Thai experience, by far. If you're looking for a clean and authentic atmosphere to eat enjoy Thai for the 10th or first time I highly advise giving this restaurant a shot. My plan is to come back and try some other items such as Guay Teaw Tom Yum (sweet & sour soup), Drunken Noodles, or Keow Wan Curry (green). Overall I loved my experience and thought the food was extremely satisfying and great value while itching that Thai scratch I had. read more
