Visited this place as my girlfriends all wanted to hit their coffee craving. I'm not much of a coffee drinker so I got the matcha instead. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. There was quite a long line to get a drink but it does move pretty fast. We got our drinks in less than 15 mins. My matcha drink was great, just a tad sweeter than I usually like but still good. No sugar adjustments here. Inside has limited seating so we took our drinks outside to walk around and browse the walking distance shops. Overall I would come back if I'm in the area. read more

Tried their seasonal Banana Claus and it was delicious! Fresh banana flavor and didn't taste artificial at all. The base is the standard Vietnamese coffee. They put some praline on top that had some toasted nuts that added a nice textural contrast. I first encounter them at Poway and Hillcrest Farmers market before they had this storefront. One of the first successful coffee shop that specializes in Vietnamese coffee. The advantage of the storefront is the variety of flavors and options. The egg coffee is always a must or the coconut coffee. This time I opted for their seasonal flavor of pumpkin spice called The Charlie Brown. Their coffee flavor is bold, bitter with thickness of condense milk with a hint of hazelnut. Woo hoo! Finally got around to driving to North Park and checking out the brick and mortar Saigon coffee location. I had sampled it at the Hillcrest farmers market and this morning. My son reminded me that we hadn't gone to try it out yet so off we went. It took us 20 minutes to get here from Point Loma but it's well worth it and we arrived at 9:15 AM and we had a window of only three people in front of us in line. Since it was my first time the kind Person taking my order offered my son and I many samples and I just tried the egg coffee, which was really good, but I decided since it was my first time I should just have their regular Saigon coffee before I started making it fancy. My son ordered the supercharged Version banana Special which I definitely would never order because who knows when I would ever go back to sleep. The little shop is extremely clean and decorated for the lunar new year and I enjoyed seeing the process of mass producing their mom and pop version of Vietnamese coffee in a massproduction way that kept it still not mass produced. There was a young man in the window, continually pouring hot water over ground coffee in large, but not massive containers. I felt like I was getting as close to possible as the real version that this family strives to share with all of us. I applaud you for keeping your process quality and not mass producing it and watering it down for more money and more people. I'm glad to see that there's a nonstop demand for this high-quality product and this small business is providing excellent product. I took one sip of my iced Saigon coffee and was immediately transported to a very happy place. My son got their banana foam topped four espresso shot coffee, and he was equally ecstatic. I brought my own insulated cup, which is what I always do when I go out to buy coffee and they happily filled it for me. This is a requisite for me that they will not require me to use a disposable cup. Be prepared to pay for street parking at 2:50 an hour and enjoy this treat. I was in the area for a Yelp event and walked passed this amazing coffee shop. It's a small establishment but it was packed with people. I was glancing at the menu when one of their regulars started talking to me about how this business got started and how he doesn't go to any other coffee shop but here. SO, you know I had to try it! This is by far my favorite place to get coffee in the San Diego area. I'm a huge fan of Vietnamese coffee and they do it really well here. The ratio of condensed milk and coffee is perfect. The coffee is strong and not too sweet. The matcha latte is also exceptional here. I was visiting San Diego for the weekend and had this viet coffee shop saved on my list and I'm glad we were able to make the time to come here! Since I've been to Saigon Coffee several times within a month and a half, this is a bona-fide review. I just had to let the Yelp Community know I'm obsessed with Saigon Coffee's The Millionaire....well besides my California dream of becoming a Millionaire ;-) I came across this popular coffee shop during a casual walk in the North Park neighborhood. Came here on a Sunday afternoon. There was a line out the door but it moved fairly quickly. There is only street parking so you most likely will have to walk a block or two away. We ordered the iced matcha and famous Saigon coffee. Both were super flavorful and delicious. The Saigon coffee was strong but in a good way. The condensed milk in the matcha was perfect, though definitely take a lactose pill if you need it. Service was friendly, quick and efficient. There is ample seating inside and along the sidewalk. Friends brought me here on a Saturday morning around 10:30am and the line was out the door and along the sidewalk. Despite the intimidating line, it moved relatively fast and we got our drinks before 11am. I got the famous saigon coffee and I have to say, it's pretty close to the coffee I've had in Vietnam. It's not overly sweet and the coffee itself is strong, great taste. Interior is not necessarily small, there are multiple tables scattered throughout, but does feel a tiny bit cramped. I've been here... a lot. The coffee is strong but smooth. If you like coffee even a bit, it'll go down well. Rarely, it has a bit more acidity than its normal subtle sweetness, but it's almost always solid. Many opt for the egg or cheese foam, which aren't bad choices, but I much prefer the Banana (surprisingly, banana foam, yes) or Whip (coffee foam). The banana foam tasted strongly like banana when they first introduced the Famous Banana during the holidays at the end of 2025, but it has hardly tasted like banana after that first month, sadly. It can get busy but they are super fast, so you won't be waiting that long. read more

It always feels like I've gotten hit by lightning whenever I drink it (which is saying something considering my caffeine tolerance is extremely high). The shop is incredibly small with only a few seats available inside. They always have a line out of the door and wrapped around the corner. The line does move fast and they make your drinks quickly, though. The staff is so friendly and nice! Saigon Coffee Perk up after the first sip? This little cafe is among the best for iced Vietnamese coffees. Located in trendy North Park, parking is always a challenge and a major pain. The parking enforcement must have drones patrolling the area. Last year, there was a lot on construction in the area, with very little unmarked parking, I got ticketed $89! Legal eagle Moi, I did contest it on appeal and won!! You may or may not be as lucky with winning in court or finding close by parking. Saigon coffee uses a Phin filter to make coffee. Phin filter employs a slow-drip brewing process that allows the coffee to steep slowly and thoroughly over several minutes. The shop pre makes several ahead of time to move the usual long line crowd of people, so no worries, the line moves quickly. The staff of mostly Vietnamese are efficient and helpful. I had my Vietnamese friend overhear these chatters and it's synonymous to being in a nail salon gossip lol. Wish they would be more professional by NOT chit chatting in Vietnamese or any other language about customers in front of customers is such a major faux pas. On a more positive note, the cafe shop as of today, has NOT received any Health violations and that scores volumes in my book. Bravo!! The menu offers iced drinks. The Hanoi egg coffee is ok. The super strong black coffee is indeed strong but too bitter. The iced matcha is not their forte. My fav is the Iced Vegan Coconut Vietnamese coffee, as I have sensitivities and am glad they offer a non dairy option. Review #41 for 2025 I tried this place not to long ago as it has popped up on my Instagram and I'm a total coffee addict and my go-to is what I call crack coffee aka Vietnamese coffee. Parking here is all street parking and depending on how busy the area is, parking can be a bit of a challenge. I tried the millionaires coffee and my brother had some type of tea drink I think. We both got a large. He enjoyed his drink and I enjoyed mine too. I actually wanted to try 2 different drinks, but the drinks here are by far the priciest I have ever experienced. The 2 drinks alone was $20!!! I was expecting average prices of between $4-7. The millionaires coffee was strong, but not as strong as I was hoping. I think I should had just stuck with the classic because that is what I usually drink and make at home or the coconut frappe, but I did not want something really sweet. Service was fine. The worker was friendly and helpful. The store is bright and airy, with open windows and a few tables to sit at. The place itself is pretty small. They do have a window you can look through and see the coffee being made which was pretty cool. Would I come back? Even though I liked the coffee, being Vietnamese myself and making this coffee at home all the time, I just feel like the prices are WAY to high and I can't justify coming here and paying this much for a cup of coffee on a regular basis. read more
