All the Thai and Viet dishes here are great! I haven't been let down by any. I live in Regent Park and it's nice to have a local spot that I can order soul-warming Pho and Khao Soi from. Pho: broth is delicious. Bun rieu: 9.5/10 bc my mother-in-law's is 10/10 Any of the Buns (vermicelli with veggies and meat of your choice): 10/10 Chicken wings 10/10 are extra crispy and have a nice asian seasoning to them. Shrimp spring rolls are also extra crispy. Khao soi 10/10 is flavourful and perfect spice level. If you'd like more spice I'm sure they'd oblige. It is my favourite Khao soi in the city. Pad Thai is also good, although I prefer saucier dishes like Panang curry. Friendly owner and staff. There's a patio out front too now with Covid-19 precautions. To the people running this business, THANK YOU! This is now our go-to Thai/Viet place in the neighborhood. Called to order for pickup and after 1/2 hour I was home enjoying the goods! Spring rolls (chicken): crunchy, fully-packed and the meat is juicy but this will be taken to another level when you dip every bite with the sauce that came with it. Khao Sai: perfect! Love this restaurant. We were coming here about once a week pre-covid and still order pick-up or delivery during the pandemic. Everything we've had is delicious... the pho, Thai noodles and rice... also love their vegetarian selection - the eggplant/tofu and the pad kee mao are the bomb. This place was really good. I like how you can get Thai or Vietnamese food. We had Thai food the day before and it was extremely bland so I definitely had to find another place. Luckily we found this place and we were happily surprised. The service was a little lacking at times, but it seemed like mainly one server. The food took awhile to come out and the yellow curry should have been spicier since I asked for Thai spicy but overall it was good. The chicken chow mein was one of the best I've ever had. This was the third time we come to this place a and it seems they have improved a lot more. Place is clean. Good presentation of the menu with many choices. Portions are good; love the fresh mint and beansprout (asked for seconds); the fork and spoon all ready for use (we don't have to ask for them). A better place to get your moneys worth. Wonderful addition to the neighbourhood and our new favourite Vietnamese restaurant in the area. I don't give 5 stars out very often, but these guys keep hitting it out of the park, and everything is made to order like the salad rolls. The pho is on point too, and is one of the best pho's I've had in the city. Was there on Aug 4th with my boyfriend. We had the homemade shrimp chips with peanut sauce/dip. The chips were light and crispy and the dipping sauce was very nice. My bf had the chicken pad thai and i i had the chicken drunken noodles. Both noodles were delicious and the chef fulfilled our extra spicy request that we wanted. we enjoyed our food. A relatively new addition to Parliament street, I finally tried it out recently. 4 stars but a fairly generic review. It wasn't overly busy that evening so service was attentive. We tried the drunken noodles and pad thai - both were delivered as heaping portions, with much taken to go. Prices are reasonable and lower than downtown average, which is great. I live down the street and pass by the restaurant quite often, was always curious as to how the food is here. Since Im Vietnamese l was skeptical on how authentic Pho would be here in such a random spot Cabaggetown. Browsed the menu online before coming in and noticed they even have specialty soup dishes like bun rieu and bun bo hue which not every pho restaurant have so I decided it's time to try. Came with a friend and we decided we had to try the pho first. We both agreed the broth was too strong of spices specifically star anise which is a main spice in pho. Otherwise it's a 8/10. Please let the chef know to not leave the spices in too long or use less. We ordered the papaya salad and it was very delicious. It was a combination taste between a Vietnamese papaya salad and the thai version (seeing how it is a viet/thai fusion restaurant) we very much enjoyed it. Today I just ordered the Vermicelli and Grilled Chicken with Spring Rolls and it was also good. Can't go wrong with this at any Vietnamese restaurant. Overall the food here seems pretty decent so I'll be back to try more items like the Thai dishes. Restaurant is nice and clean. read more

My routine for my first visit in any Vietnamese restaurants is to try pho. I have yet to see a Viet resto where they have shitty pho to have much of decent anything in terms of items on their menu. You can almost guratee that if a Viet resto can't not do pho right, chances are everything else is gonna be shit too. So here at Saigon Pai, I ordered a large pho tai (rare beef pho) and with my first slurp, I am pleasantly surprised. Broth is darker and richer than, generous amount of garnish, everything seem pretty proper considering the target clientele in this neighbourhood which is definitely not typical Asian. I'm hoping to try more dishes here in the future. My only concern is that Saigon Pai serves up Viet as well as Thai dishes and looks liek it turns into a legit bar at night. This could either be good or bad as I haven't seen a restaurant that successfully hack both Viet and Thai at the level of premier league so I'm cautisouly optimistic. With their pho though, I'm impressed and I will definitely come back to try more dishes here. Thank God this place oepend up since all the Viet joints in old China town (Gerrard and Broadview) are pretty crap minus pho Mimi but they don't accept credit cards which is kinda lame. read more

Great place for Vietnamese food. Yes, the staff are actually Vietnamese lol My wife wanted to try this place since it re-opened under a new name and I assume new management. We ordered Bun Rieu and Vermicelli with pork and spring roll. My wife loved the bun rieu and my noodles was good (minor feedback for the cooks, please slice the cucumbers and lettuce into thinner slices to match the rest of the dish). Prices are very reasonable for downtown. The restaurant is very spacious and newly renovated (stroller friendly!). The vibe is a bit more on the pub side. Nonetheless, it was fine for us and our young kids. They do have high chairs available, however no kid-friendly bowls and cutlery (parents, pack your own!) Staff are friendly enough and the service was good. Location is perfect for us, whether we drive or walk. We definitely plan to go often as a new regular joint for us read more

Definitely my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Cabbage town! Reasonable and delicious

Great restaurant. The food was really tasty and the price was fair. We had the shrimp pad Thai ($14) and the Panang Curry ($12). We regularly eat Asian food and this restaurant is now on our regular go to list of restaurants. We ordered an extra bowl of rice and they didn't charge us!!! We will definitely become regulars. If you are looking for variety - and not quality - this is ok. It is very expensive, our curry dishes came (about 18 bucks each through skip) with about 40 grams of actual meat in them. The noodle dish was naked rice noodle with some herbs and nut - I believe it's called dunken noodles (20 bucks) - and we :( literally just threw it out. read more

Pleasantly surprised with the interior of this restaurant. It feels very modern and rustic with the dark wood. I had the khao soi with chicken and chicken spring rolls. The spring rolls were wrapped in rice paper so it had that crunchy, thin wrap which I enjoy whenever I eat Vietnamese spring rolls. The flavour was good and they were large pieces of spring rolls! The khao soi's creamy curry broth was so flavourful. Often times places water down their broth which I absolutely hate but this place, it's thick, creamy and full of flavour. Plus the chicken was not dry!!! It's a must try. Will be coming back for sure to try other menu items. read more

The restaurant is nice and very modern. But the staff needs to be trained a little better with basic customer service. I decided to eat at this restaurant mainly because I had to use the washroom after grocery shopping and pregnant craving for spring rolls.. Seeing that they have a giant sign in the front that they have to put up every day when opening saying : lunch special - order and get free soup or spring rolls I was like what a deal.. First off the waitress told me to sit at a table that wasn't cleaned yet and proceed to clean it when I sat down in front of me. Fine. Then I asked her about the lunch special she tells me that is during the weekdays only but I told her that there's a sign in front. I thought she left to ask her colleague cause she came back and was like yeah it's on the menu so you can choose so I did and then she flip to the front stating that it's basically this which is on the regular menu so I got super confused.. when my food came and I was like don't you get a spring roll and she's like no it's the lunch menu that only happens on the weekdays. And I proceed to tell her again that she shouldn't put the sign up then cause there's a giant sign in front.. she then tells me again that it's only on the weekdays.. Seriously, like I understand. But shouldn't the sign be put up accordingly? I'm a first time walk-in customer! We would base sales and stuff off signage and advertisement. How would I know it's only during the weekdays! And since you have the sign up shouldn't you honour it?! Since you put up false advertisement?! Anyways I told her to take off the sign switch she did. Which proves she's wrong for having it up!! Anyways not only that.. she didn't even offer me tea or water in the beginning like a restaurant should especially if you are trying to modernize a Pho place.. I would expect excellent service.
