Outstanding! The quality of fish, the variety of plates and freshness of each dish left us holding out full bellies as we left. All you can eat sushi, that can cater to allergies is such a big plus for us since my husband can't have avocado. I've been to many places that won't even give you an option. From specialty rolls to nigiri and even sashimi there's no limit which is such a big plus! Service is so quick and staff is very friendly and anyone is willing to grab you another order when your ready! Delicious food. Only complaint is the miso soup is too weak so pass on the soup. Everything else was delicious!

They've only been open for about a month now so I'll give them some grace considering they're so new. Just like any ayce, they have a time limit of 2hrs which is totally understandable. What's difficult is when service is super slow and getting your order taken takes 20+ min every time you want to order something not to mention waiting for your food to be prepared. Portions are a bit small, again understandable for ayce but some are just funny of how little comes in. definitely recommend ordering a lot to start with since you dont really know the next time your server will be around. In my opinion, all-you-can-eat and sushi usually don't go well together for restaurants. I'm very suspicious of the quality of raw fish when they offer all you can eat. Sake is an exception to that concept, with excellent options for specialty rolls and appetizers, and a surprisingly high quality & quantity of their sashimi servings (especially of our favorite - ahi / tuna). Choices are made to order (vs sitting on a buffet table). The weekday lunches are the best value, but their prices for dinner and the weekend probably still beats what you would get a la carte at a typical sushi place. We've tried a few AYCE sushi spots in NorCal and this is the best we found in the Napa-Solano county areas. read more

They've been open four days now and I've already been twice, it's that good. I've been waiting for an AYCE sushi spot to open in Napa for DECADES, and I'm so happy Sake finally took the plunge! I know Napa can be hit or miss for most restaurants, but Sake is doing it the right way. Away from downtown, and more geared to locals. There was about a 15-minute wait the second time I went, and I suspect that will be the case every day from now on. Super fresh sashimi and rolls, original options and a big menu, plus it's affordable! $26 AYCE for lunch, and $40 AYCE for dinner? That is unheard of for sushi in Napa! That will get you just 1-2 rolls in Napa at other sushi spots, and lately the other options are either just okay, or very expensive, or both. Even during their busy soft-opening weekend, the service at Sake was fairly quick when we wanted it, and very friendly, and we didn't feel rushed or ignored at all. My kids loved it, (and it was only $12.99 for them!) plus a small, grab-your-own-ice-cream-out-of-the-freezer is included, which was fun for my kids, and just the perfect amount. Not fancy, but really, really good, family-friendly, and affordable. We'll be there once a week for sure! read more

The ambiance of Sake is nice and relaxing as well as the interior lighting provides richness on every morsel's colors. Also the food!!! I don't know which one stands as the best dish ie sashimi platter, nigiri, or the varieties of sushi rolls and many more. Everything is great, melts into the mouth, and such umami to be savored. In addition, the seafood is fresh and has the flavor of them being freshly caught. Finally the service itself the waiters and waitresses provide their quick services well to customers. This is our first time my family and myself ate in this eatery and will comeback again. Also I highly recommend this to my friends and coworkers who have yet to try Napa's Sake. This the best Japanese ayce restaurant in the Bay Area! There are so many appetizers and cooked items to choose from, including salmon teriyaki, Tempura soft shell crab, udon etc making it very kid friendly. Hamachi Kama is cooked to perfection with a thin crispy outside and a juicy tender inside. Sashimi are so fresh that you can taste the sweetness of fish and shrimps. Short ribs have quality that's comparable to famous Korean restaurants. The salmon and mango dish is innovative and refreshing. The hamachi jalapenos has an enjoyable sour taste. We tried Sake last week and enjoyed it very much. It was refreshing to eat in a simple dining room with good service filled with locals. Dinner was a very good value for the price. Sake serves made-to-order California Style sushi which is a fusion of traditional sushi and CA ingredients like avocado, razor-thin slices of jalapeño, and non-traditional sauces like Sriracha. I like California rolls that are actually rolled inside-out (uramaki). If you are a sushi purist who travels to Japan often, this may not be the place for you. The actual famous French food critic who went by the pen name of "Curnonsky", who helped develop the Michelin star system, would have categorized this food as La Cuisine Improvisée. I think he would approved of the non-traditional style. Fun fact - "Curnonsky" was a play on the Latin phrase Cur non? ("Why not?"). That might make me a peasant, but this peasant left with a full belly and happy. read more

I would not even call it Japanese food as I do not want to insult the japanese. The food was just horrendous from the very weak miso soup, the usavory nigiri sushi to the unappetizing Beef Hibashi....I have been to japan quite often and this is in no way how Japanese food taste like. Save you hard earned cash and skip this place. Service was gracious but that does not make up for bad food. As far as the ambiance goes, it was like eating in a train station cafeteria. I initially came earlier this week on Wednesday with a few colleagues and enjoyed the fresh and delicious hand rolls and signature rolls. I wanted to experience the dinner menu as a friend told me their sashimi is incredibly fresh and delicious, and I love sashimi so I was sold. I went back to the restaurant today (Friday) for the dinner menu and the sashimi was amazingly delicious and incredibly fresh. My favorite is the pepper fin sashimi. It melts in your mouth!! Staff is very friendly and timely. They make their rounds back to your table about every 15mins. The food isn't the best, a lot of fried options, but it gets the job done well. Visited while pregnant and unable to eat raw fish, and we came to celebrate my husband's birthday. I only wanted something simple like soup and vegetable tempura, but was told I still had to pay the full all-you-can-eat price if my husband ordered it, or we both had to order individually. Because of this, my husband wasn't even able to enjoy the all-you-can-eat option on his own and had to switch to ordering everything à la carte, which took away from the experience--especially since it was his birthday dinner. I understand restaurants have policies, but it would have been nice to see some flexibility or accommodation for dietary restrictions. I wasn't trying to share food, just order something small I could actually eat. Unfortunately, the situation made things uncomfortable enough that we decided to leave. Just something to be aware of if you're pregnant or have dietary limitations. The main issue was the lack of flexibility and customer service in handling dietary restrictions, rather than the food or ambiance. read more

Went there for Father's Day with 3 kids for the $40 all you can eat. Place was hustlin plates in and out of the dinning area. All happy faces and yummy sounds. We were so excited... Awesome restaurant! Entering the restaurant you are met by a sushi bar instantly and was welcome from all the sushi chefs working. There was a table being seated at the moment so I took some time to check out the sushi bar. All the fish looked super fresh and no whiffs of fishy smell. I was then seated and taken care of by Mina. She was friendly, super knowledgeable on the menu, and made sure I got all the food I wanted. It was busy on a weekend but she was able to take care of her other tables and me attentively while efficiently. The food was great! The appetizer was so good especially the cheese wontons. My 2 favorite rolls off the menu were the Mt. Fuji and King Kong. I had a great time dinning here and felt like a king being served. The place was clean and had a great atmosphere. Ambience is adequate. Adequate spacing of dining tables. Not overwhelmingly close. Recommend relaxing music. Restroom(men) could be more updated but acceptable and clean. When it comes to food, no complaints. Im a hand roll type of guy and i wished they had salmon skin hand roll in the menu. You can never go wrong with salmon skin hand roll. Hands down! One of the bests sashimis ive ever had. Come on in and try and see what i mean. Price is as expected. We definitely return with an empty stomach and try other options in the menu. read more
