Our party of six decided to head out to Geyserville for River Rock's New Year's Eve prime rib buffet. The buffet opened at 5:00 so we got in line at 4:45 and we noticed there was quite a line forming. A host called for the VIP people to head to the left and they had a special cashier handling these guests. You pay first and then a server escorts you to a table. They were seating people outside on the covered deck too. The employees said it is quite nice out there with the heaters. Since it was a rainy and cold day, we decided to be seated indoors. The interior is smaller than I expected and they gave us a large table off to the side. The line for the buffet looked long but it moved along. There is an adjacent room where you go for the main menu items (pasta, egg rolls, Asian chicken, soups, rolls, prime rib, chicken piccata, fish, shrimp, salads, etc), and desserts are just outside of this room. The line for the buffet formed straight through the dining room so we were walking right next to tables where guests were eating. I was glad we didn't get seated in this area. The food was surprisingly good. My favorites were the prime rib, cranberry wild rice, and mashed potatoes. Their Caesar salad was really fresh with crisp greens and lots of shaved parmesan. The prime rib carver will ask your preference on how you like your meat cooked. I asked for a small piece but the nice carver is happy to give you larger cuts too. We all agreed that their prime rib was excellent. The employees are all very sweet. They ask for drink orders and they are good about removing your empty dishes. Desserts were okay, but nothing exceptional. We all said if they had soft serve, we would be elated. We all agreed that this dinner was 100% better than the Thanksgiving meal we had in November but the employees were super nice and accommodating both times we were there. Dining area is clean and managed well. The greatest thing is that this place is non-smoking! There is a large multi-level parking garage. read more

The restaurant feels "institutional" like something you would find in a senior living facility with fluorescent lighting. In other words, no ambiance. Service is good but the food is just okay. We went for the $28 prime rib dinner special and it felt like the baked potatoes were cooked yesterday and then warmed up. The vegetables were most likely from a frozen bag. The glass of red wine tasted like it was from a bottle that had been opened a few days before - we couldn't finish it. The steak salad was one of the best I have ever had! The steak was tender, well seasoned and complimented the salad which was delicious as well. The garlic bread was very good too! Others said the chicken teriyaki dish was very good, as were the garlic fingers (breadstick like) and the potato leek soup! Eating indoors was probably a mistake, as the ambiance was non-existent, not much character and it was cold. Sitting outdoors would have been much better as the sun was getting ready to set. Service was very slow. On a Sunday night it probably took about 45 min to get our meals. The waitstaff seemed good, but the wait was too long for what we ordered. It didn't seem overly crowded. So 5 stars for the food, and probably 2 stars if you sit inside but 5 stars for ambience if you sit outside, and 2 stars for service. read more

We've been coming here for years and service is always great. There's 3 waitress that are always so friendly.. Feather, Gabby & Lorena. My daughter and I went this past weekend and we both had the steak & eggs breakfast. Steak & eggs, potatoes & toast for under $20! Even better we used a food comp. The view from the patio is amazing, and they recently have started serving fresh brick oven pizza.. get the hot honey di carne, you won't be sorry... False advertising. When you search on Quail run buffet the second listing says the Friday night buffet is $26.95 and it's for prime rib and crab. Turns out the post was written in 2018 and doesn't describe the current situation. Now the Friday Buffet is all seafood and costs $55. This has deceived other reviewers too. Why doesn't the restaurant take down the post? As buffets go, this one is typical. Nothing is excellent. Everything is average, but there's a lot of it. First time Eating there. They still have 6 feet away and wear a mask restrictions, and outdoors only dining, but they're open. They have great heaters on patio. The service was phenomenal and the food was very good. Definitely be back hopefully one day when there's a Buffet again, I definitely like to try that. After four years, I decided to revisit River Rock Casino. To my surprise, the prices had increased by $55. However, I couldn't help but notice that the previous menu had been much better. For $55 per person, the buffet offered dungeon crab, overcooked oysters, clam chowder, salmon that seemed straight out of Costco, and a shrimp cocktail. It was one of the most disappointing seafood buffets I've ever experienced. I would suggest that River Rock management make some improvements for the price of $55. read more

Do not go over there and expect a $26/person seafood buffet as what they are advertising along Highway 101, when you get there they will yell you that it is not that price but $55/person. The hostess said "that price is for Canada not here if you look at the fine print." If you look closely on all of their ads along the freeway there is no fine print. It wasn't a bad buffet the defrosted cold crab was delicious and so was the shrimp cocktail but don't get the Cajun cook crabs the meat was over cook there was no snap to it and was very stringy and fishy the clam chowder was very good and everything seemed really good too the baked salmon was tasty but I didn't try anything else but my family enjoyed themselves would definitely go again read more

USED GAMBLING WINNINGS FOR LUNCH BUFFET After winning a little over $300 earlier in the day on the slots at River Rock I decided to reward myself for lunch. Being a River Rock card member I get a discount off from lunch; I only paid less than $9. The buffet here is decent. When I had lunch I want sure if the servings were for lunch or brunch because there were scrambled eggs, sausages, and waffles. Nothing really stands out in terms of unique food items except for the deep fried mozzarella sticks. Where can you find deep fried mozzarella sticks at a buffet? The stuffed crepe was delightful. The BBQ chicken was baked yet very moist. The coleslaw was fresh. As I mentioned this buffet doesn't stand out like must casino buffets. Why should I complain when I won over $300 and paid less than $9 for a buffet? read more

If you frequent buffets you know they are very hit or miss. Although I have to say you cannot go wrong with the Friday night's Prime Rib and Seafood buffet at the River Rock Casino. During the weekdays the buffet can be less desirable. That's including breakfast, lunch or dinner. On Friday night there Is plenty to choose from, from fried shrimp (my fav) to different types of snow crab and other seafood. The Prime Rib can be dry and tuff at times to being very bloody and undercooked. If you are to try their buffet make sure not miss the Friday night's prime rib n seafood. read more

we have been going to the casino and restaurant for about five years. The food is very generous, and it's reasonably priced you can accrue "points" as you gamble, which can be used for "free" food. Went there to eat. But when I got there I was told I only had 12 dollars on comp. When I had 121.00 a couple of days before. The host said I used it the day before. .I complained to a manager and asked to see the video of me being there and using my card at quail run. Because it wasn't me I was never there. Told him that it wasn't the first time they do this to me. I told him I spoke with a young lady who's name I'm not going to mention. To make note of whenever my card is being use to check I'd. She said it was done. So I asked why are your employees not following protocol and asking for id.when using your membership card to get meals or play tournaments. Bunch of rip offs. And it's done by the employees and when complaints are made they don't even follow up on it. I asked the young man to walk with me to the quail run just so could see that they were not even going to check my ID with the river rock card. I was using to pay with. He refused to do so. That right there tells me he is allowing for his employees to steal from one person's card and let someone else benefit off it. No longer has buffet and needed to wait almost 1.5 hours. No good food inside River Rock Casino.

This is about the Christmas buffet 2019. Again it was all awesome. We arrived around 2pm and as we walked through the Casino towards the buffet we noticed immediately that the nasty offensive cigarette smoke smell was greatly reduced almost to the point of not being noticeable and the place seemed to be packed with gamblers. Is there some new equipment removing the smoke from the casino before it has a chance to drift into the buffet? If so it is really effective and doing a great job. All the staff was busy keeping the steam trays full and cleaned up after sloppy clumsy careless diners navigated their way along the buffet. It was like we were the first customers there that day because they kept it so clean, tidy and freshened up. All three of us commented about how every selection was well prepared and delicious. And I mean every selection. None of us had anything that was just so-so, or that we didn't really enjoy. We cleaned our plates. Our servers were on top of keeping our drinks refilled and the dishes cleared from the table. But then they have always been that attentive every time we have enjoyed a meal here. There does seem to be a system in place where the cashier doesn't ring up the next customer until a table is cleared and ready for the next customers. It appears they are just slow but I do not think that is the reason there is a line. Some people complain about this, but let me ask the complainers, what if you paid and got into the dining room and you could not find an empty table? How loud would you complain then? My only complaint is not about the buffet but about some of the customers pulling their chairs out from the table and then sitting only on the front edge of the chair which leaves only a few inches between their chair and a chair from the next table. That makes it impossible to navigate your way towards the buffet tables easily. The Christmas buffet is open to parents bringing their children with them, yet I only saw 4 children the whole time. Two of them were well behaved and two were not. Parents need to teach their children how to behave in a restaurant, this is not a playground for playing hide and seek. We'll be back for New Years! Totally disingenuous with the advertisement along 101 highway leading to River Rock casino. Friday buffet shown to be under $30. When you arrive, the real cost is $55. The lower price is also on their web sight , which has not been updated since who knows when. After going to this buffet in previous years, we were in for a complete let down this time. They have reduced the food offerings to a minimum. Gone is the salad selection and replaced with ready made plates made by an attendant. Many looked like they had been sitting out for some length of time. Gone is the meat carving station where a nice cut of prime rib was always available. Gone is the soft ice cream and toppings. The steam tables did hold a small variety of dried mussels and small clams. The only saving grace, to this very overpriced buffet, was the big bowel of thawed shrimp and plenty of fresh crab. What was advertised ass a 'seafood' buffet turns out to be a complete disappointment ! Definitely not worth the price. We will not return. read more

Meh. $21.95 for a Saturday Night dinner buffet. Line to get in is slow, but the food is well stocked. Wait staff is efficient and cordial, though. Good options. It's not the most extensive buffet but they have some variety. There's a salad station, fruit station, breakfast station, and then general comfort food like meat, biscuits, gravy, and other various sides. Most of the food is pretty good! Especially for a buffet. It's clean and they turn tables over fast. The workers are SUPER friendly! And for $29/person, I won't complain. Plus, they're open on Christmas! One negative is they don't take reservations. In all fairness, we did not eat here this time, but I did dine here the last time I was here when I won at black jack. The casino workers were nice enough to allow us to do a walk-thru last Sunday before we decided against dining here. The instant my dad saw it, he hated it. I myself am a lot more open minded and accomodating, but even I have to say that it was easily the saddest and most dismal casino buffet I have seen in a long time. It made the cheap buffets in old Vegas look like a feast. The food at the other restaurant in the bar of the casino appeared to be way better, although considerably more expensive. Come on, River Rock...I can see how you're trying to improve things, but if you're truly going to be a contender, you really need to step up and make more of an effort than this pathetic excuse for a buffet. Granted the buffet for lunch or dinner was only $13.50, but wow, short of roast beef, there was almost nothing there. Talk about a feeble, almost laughable selection of offerings...I know it ain't Vegas, but jeez, this place actually makes Hometown Buffet look good. The dessert table had options for people who prefer a sugar free option, although I was not a fan of the water based ice cream machine, I can understand why it did not contain a dairy base though. I love this place. The people are friendly and the food is pretty good. I use my players card to get better deals. The salad bar is my favorite part. They have all you could want. The Asian section is really tasty and they usually have a baked potato bar that rocks. The dessert station has so many choices and great soft serve ice cream. I am not a "foodie" so I am only someone who eats where it is available. Whenever I am at River Rock I have to choose whether to stay and eat at the restaurant or leave and eat somewhere closer to home. It ends up 50-50. The buffet is a choice and I find it satisfactory. We are not talking gourmet here. River Rock provides an excellent choice of a variety of dishes. I think that the price has increased but it is your choice whether it is worth it. I generally like this place. The selection is not massive but what they do have, they do well usually. The Prime Rib is generally good value for the money and their special Friday and Saturday dinners with seafood are delicious. Only two things. THEY NEED TO OFFER SUSHI LIKE EVERY OTHER CASINO BUFFET And also how about crab on Saturday night just like on Friday? The dinner is just as expensive and how many oysters can you eat for cryin out loud?? Their Mexican food and salad bar are second to none. But no sushi or crab a big minus. Also, why take away the Asian food on seafood nights? It's sorely missed. Good steaks, pulled pork and brisket though. Meat lovers paradise. I'm full just thinking about it. Came here after a long day of wine tasting for the Saturday surf and turf buffet. Didn't expect much from a typical casino buffet, but was pleasantly surprised by the selection and quality. The oyster bar in Saturdays, at least for me is the draw. Choice of raw or baked with pesto or BBQ sauce. The brisket and prime rib were quite good as well. Since we enjoy that area for wine tasting, I can see returning here for the Friday night seafood buffet. Reasonably priced, and if you leave hungry,,,that's your choice. read more

I made the mistake of going to the River Rock Casino on Christmas for the buffet. I was with a party of 5 and our waiter, Marc, was very attentive. I was impressed with him, as were the other members of my party. But he was the only really good part of the experience. The place was filled with cigarette smoke, and there was very little ventilation in the restaurant, the Quail Run Buffet. The smoke kept coming into the restaurant. I asked them to turn up the air. They turned it up for a few minutes, and I felt better. Then they turned it back down again. *cough* I have bronchitis and I'm allergic to cigarette smoke. I asked twice more, but they wouldn't turn it up again. So I spent most of dinner coughing. I don't blame the restaurant for the smoke, but I do blame them for refusing to ventilate the place properly. The restaurant is supposed to be a non-smoking area, and all of that smoke kept coming in. But instead of turning up the air and keeping it on as I had requested, I guess somebody was more worried about their power bill than making the patrons sick. They might also want to invest in closing the damn doors to keep the smoke out! I didn't actually notice if there were doors, but I did notice that the front of the place is completely open. On the right side, the cashier takes your money. On the left side, people come in for their tables once they are paged. Why not have doors on both sides? People could open the door to go in and be rung up, once it is their turn. And once someone is paged, they could open a door instead of going into an open hall that is allowing all of that cigarette smoke into the restaurant. For starters, the cost was pretty excessive - $25 per person. Call me a traditionalist, but I was in the mood for turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes and gravy were good, but the turkey breast I got was exceedingly dry. And I tried a couple of different batches. They are overcooking it. The corn was okay, no complaints there. They had some breakfast food, which I thought was kind of cool. I tried the bacon, but they ran out of the sausage. The bacon seemed really salty, like, I dunno, more so than usual... I tried the orange ham. It was awful, inedible. I'm not much of a Prime Rib eater, but I decided to give it a try. There were two sides to the Prime Rib. There was a fatty, rarer side and a lean more well done side. I like lean meats, so I decided to try the latter. It wasn't good. I can't comment on the rare stuff, since I didn't try it, but I didn't feel that the Prime Rib was well-spiced. It just didn't have a good taste. Maybe it was over-spiced, and that was the problem. I don't eat it enough that I could figure out what was wrong with it. One good thing is that soda and juice are included with the meal. Wine is extra. I got orange juice, but it tasted a little odd, kind of like Sunny D. The dessert section was a travesty. The baked cookies were really hard, and didn't have a good taste. The pumpkin pie was the worst I've ever tasted. The chocolate cake was inedible. One of my dinner companions tried it, and he didn't want it, either. He didn't like his cherry pie or the cookies. The only good thing in the dessert section was the soft serve with the ice cream cones and the fixings like gummy bears. They should keep that, scratch the rest, and start over. read more

Chose to eat here on Xmas day. Just beat the rush and had double helpings of the turkey, excellent, all. Filled up on the turkey and trimmings and never even had the prime rib or crab which was huge. Too full and very satisfied a way beyond, great meal. Thanks to the chefs and servers. read more
