This place is another decent asian place for the area. I do think it tastes better than asia grill and there are more options I believe. The few times I have gone here I had a good experience. Everything is pick up only if you are not dining in. There isn't delivery and it was a but of a hassle because of that. I only came when I got the car from my parents all the way back in nyc. The hibachi show here is always fun, with most of the usual tricks - the egg, the onion volcano, etc, plus sake sprayed into the mouth. The food is delicious, especially the scallops. Most hibachi steak houses have similar touches, but at Sake, they have all the touches. The meals come with both fried rice and noodles. It also comes with a shrimp appetizer. Pretty good deal. Prices are in line with most hibachi places, maybe a tiny bit higher but worth it, for what you get. The lunch specials are the best deal, if you can get there during the week. read more

In the past year i have gone out to eat 4 times all at same restaurant. Until here last night. To start If my nephew didnt have his heart set on hibachi i wouldn't even thought twice bout staying at the establishment nor ever visiting again...so last night when my husband and nephew wanted hibachi we were at best buy across street. So i called to see wait time. Gentleman said "20 minutes no more for hibachi, restaurant no wait" so we go and wait....and wait....waited 25 minutes in lobby....then when they finally sat my party and 2 other parties at hibachi we waited over 40 minutes for anyone to acknowledge anyone at the table while numerous workers just stood around with hands behind back pacing room to room. Oh look here comes soup!! Oh you only have enough for every other person?! Ok...20 minutes later we were finally asked for drink order, not food...15 more minutes pass and drinks show up...well whoever ordered soda their drink showed up...no soup for us that didnt get it...10 more minutes pass salad arrives and the straggler drinks just appear! A hour and 20 minutes in to our visit food order is taken. Soup is asked about and a excuse is given in mumbles. Whatever. It takes another 20 for chef to appear. At this point the table was miserable. Food wasn't even great. Chef was a step above dishwasher playing with utensils. Terrible service. Can't believe yall have no shame doing that to people and charging ridiculous prices, no sorry for the wait NOTHING. One couple wanted to leave and couldnt even because check couldnt be paid without "server" that was mia so they just sat back down. 2 1/2 miserable hours to grab dinner, 1hour 15 minutes of that sitting with no drinks not even a smile..charged for things we didn't get and Usually thats not bad but this being covid yea no..no masks on anyone but me! I go every sunday with my best friend for half off sushi. It attracts a big crowd, especially the college students near by, so if you go make sure to get there not hungry. Maybe have a snack before you go because sushi takes at least 40 minutes to come out. Once you get it though , shit smacks. But the service is AWFUL. They did not cater to my allergies and they served the other person at my table their food 10 minutes before they served me my food. We did not have a waitress or waiter, a new person came to the table every time. They always pick up the checks before you even leave the table and stand there while you're signing your signature. They always mix up who orders what and my friends and I end up having to switch the plates and checks EVERY time. If you want good food this is a place for you but if you want good service never ever ever go here. If they assume you are a college student and wont bring in a lot of tip money they automatically serve you awfully. read more

This is the best hibachi I've been to. I've been here at least 10 times - great for the family (kid size meals are cheap), date night or to take your parents. The show (food prep / cooking) is always fun and interactive. The servers are a little slow but nothing to complain about. The quality of the food is top notch - at least the food cooked at the hibachi areas. From steak, chicken and seafood you can't go wrong. read more

I wish I could give this place zero stars. I have been to Sake many times and have always enjoyed the food, this stopped today. I went in to order take out and ordered hibachi and a sweet potato roll. When I got home the sushi was actually a California roll, I don't like avocados and have never ordered anything but a sweet potato roll. I called back and the manager was SO RUDE telling me it was my fault I ordered the wrong item. He implied if I brought back the roll I would be able to get what I had originally wanted. I drove all the way back and when I gave him the wrong roll he told me I was unable to get a sweet potato roll unless I paid for it again. He was completely disrespectful and claimed he has never made a mistake and again continued to talk down to me. Will not be returning to this restaurant. read more

My family went to Sake Steakhouse for my sister's 30th birthday. We had a 4:30 pm hibachi reservation. There were 2 children in our group ( 7 years old and 10 years old). We enjoyed the presentation of the hibachi, but, the chef made multiple "adult-themed" references and jokes. My family is pretty easy going, so this was all in good fun, and in spite of a few awkward moments with the children and my parents (who are in their late 60s), we were able to enjoy our meals. At the end of dinner, however, the chef decided to make a twisting balloon sculptor for the birthday girl. Instead of making a dog, flower, or traditional shape out of the long balloon, he made a phallic sculptor of male private parts combined as a hat, and put it on her head, pointing up. This was completely inappropriate and harassment as far as I'm concerned. This was so incredibly off the mark and was done during day-time hours, in front of 2 CHILDREN. I can not believe this establishment is still open. I would not return here if they were giving away free meals. This experience was very unexpected from a seemingly reputable establishment. read more

I absolutely loved my experiences here! I have been here a few times and have nothing but wonderful things to say! The cooks are fun, engaging, polite and very talented. I have an allergy to carrots (weird I know) and the staff was very accommodating to that and made a special salad just for me and kept our section free of carrots which I thought was so wonderful! Not many places will keep the whole section free of carrots for me and they did! I will be going back soon! Food is delicious as is the service! This was definitely one of the worst sushi dining experiences I've had.My better half and I came in on a Sunday afternoon around 12:30. We should have known upon walking in and seeing a COMPLETELY empty restaurant during what should have been the lunch rush, that things would go downhill quickly. I'll preface this by saying that I totally understand why a restaurant would not offer lunch specials on a weekend. However, it seems a little weird and arbitrary that lunch specials are offered on Saturday, but not Sunday. (Again, maybe the reason why this place was completely empty). I wanted a bento box, and even offered to pay extra for it since it was the weekend, but was told that was impossible. Really? ImPOSSIBLE? As I scoured the menu for something else I would want, I noticed nearly all the entrees were twenty-something dollars. We didn't feel like dropping $50-$60 just on lunch. I ended up getting a sushi combo that I didn't even really want...to be honest I did this just to order something cheap, in a way to spite them for not letting me order the meal that I actually wanted. We ended up ordering the tempura appetizer, which was okay, except for the fact that the shrimp was NOT deveined. Gross. We also got miso soup that came with our meals, and this is something that I had previously thought one cannot screw up. I was wrong. It tasted weird...that's the only way I can explain it. Everyone who keeps raving about the ginger dressing on the salads, I can't imagine what your taste buds are experiencing, but this is by far the worst ginger dressing I've ever had. It was oddly creamy and had a strange aftertaste. He ordered chicken teriyaki, and it was, again, just okay. It tasted like something I could easily make myself at home with some chicken breast and a bottle of Kikkoman marinade. I got a sushi combo consisting of a california roll, tuna roll, and salmon roll. The fish was not very fresh, and actually had no flavor whatsoever. You could not taste a difference between the salmon and the tuna. I only ate about half of the sushi meal. So to wrap up this long review, I cannot even IMAGINE that any of the positive reviews are real. They may be friends or family of the owners, or perhaps people who have never had sushi or Japanese food outside of the confines of Foxboro/Mansfield. As for the lunch specials, when you are situated in a fairly blue collar community, in a busy shopping center, you would probably get more business if you offered a lunch special so that hungry shoppers who came in could get out of there for less than $50. I easily would've given this place 5 stars however unfortunately on numerous occasions we have made reservations and never once have they seated us even near the time. (Ex. Made a reservation for 7pm was sat at 7:45pm) and that's on the early side. The waiters and waitresses have ZERO personality it's almost like they're told not to talk the customers at all or they're just miserable. Either way the food is fantastic and I'll continue to come here because how amazing the food is however if the food goes downhill then I'll stop coming here until then I can deal with the other crap. read more

If you get a Hibachi meal you get a Miso Soup and side salad, and a show while they prepare your food which involved fire, juggling, utensil slinging, and playing with food. The chef launched diced zucchini to everyone who was willing to try to catch it in their mouth, which was funny. Some people got shots of sake. I think it does depend on the people you have at your table whether or not the chef will squirt your mouth with a fountain of sake, for kids i saw them using something like gatorade, looked like kids enjoyed it too. Also, I had a misunderstanding (my fault) with my bill, and brought it up to the owner. I was completely in the wrong, but the owner was nice enough to grant me a small discount. He was in no way obliged to do so, so I'm very grateful that he did. read more

This may be one of the loudest restaurants around!!!!! Saturday night is chaos. Very noisy. Strobe light. A bong being hit in the restaurant! No kidding! Not the place to eat a quiet meal. However, if you want to yell and make noise and have sake and food thrown at you...you will love it!!!! Never seen such an interactive meal. Food was very good and service is good once you get seated. Reservations highly recommended for Sat night. BE AWARE though. We had a reservation for 7 people at 8:00 pm and we were not seated until 8:45pm. Not happy about that but the manager did apologize for that poor showing. This restaurant usually has good food. However tonight the vent for the grill was blowing in 28 degree air from the outside. It literally made my hot tea and food cold to the touch. For starters, we had a reservation for 4 at 7:00 on 12/28. Our party was at the restaurant by 7 and checked in with the hostess. We then waited for 48 minutes to be seated, watching walkins seated before our party. We decided to get drinks at the bar while we waited. My wife ordered a Singapore Sling and proceeded to get a drink which was made incorrectly. I was drinking beer. When I ordered another beer, the bartender removed the beer from the cooler, check the temperature with her hand (which was warm to the touch and why she checked it to begin with) and then served it to me anyways. When I told her the beer was warm, she offered me a glass (why I couldn't tell you), finally, she did get me a cold beer. After the 48 minute wait, the four drinking, grownups were seated with a family of 5 with small children. Thank goodness we had reservations! The food was extremely salty and one of our party did not get their food cooked to their request. After dinner, we returned to the bar area and were approached by the manager or owner who wanted to know about our experience. When one of the party commented that they had an issue with the waitress, the manager brought the waitress over to be confronted by the patron - an extremely uncomfortable situation and completely unprofessional of the manager. The evening was capped off by being double charged for the drink at the bar. We all agreed that we will never be eating at this establishment again. read more

I went here on my 21st birthday with my family. Granted they were busy, so I made a reservation. We were seated quickly, but the overall service was terrible. My mom mentioned twice it was my birthday, and they didn't acknowledge nor do anything for it. First, she told the waitress and then she told the cook. That wasn't the worst part; the worst part was that my family spent over $140 for poor quality service. Our cook did not talk the entire time. I asked for chopsticks, and our waitress never brought them over. I waited for over 10 minutes for my drink. It seemed as if they were more concerned making money than cooking food and customer service. They quickly rushed to take our order, making me very indecisive. I did not have time to enjoy my birthday. It honestly sucked and I would never go back here. I can see why they would get 3/5 stars. We had reservations for a party of 4 at 6: PM on Saturday night. We checked in on time with the hostess who gave us no indication of a potential wait. We observed walk-ins being seated, while we stood waiting. At 6:15 I asked the two hostesses how much longer we had to wait to be seated and was told 20 minutes. Many diners were waiting, all with 6: reservations. I spoke to the hostess a third time to remind her that I made reservations by stopping by the previous day, and was assured we could be seated at 6: PM. By 6:45, we finally requested to see the manager and told him how disappointed we were with their overbooking and lack of concern for customers with reservations, no offer of a drink, or appetizers, no apology. The manager walked us into the dining area and said he was getting our seating prepared. I looked around the grille area, and it was evident nobody was ready to leave and he simply moved us into this room to get us away from the hostess who was crying because she was incapable of managing seating customers. Went to Sake with the fam for my husband's birthday. I had made reservations four days in advance. When hubby & I got there, the rest of our group was already seated, but the hostesses weren't sure which "Beth party" we belonged to, so they had us wait while they scoped out the dining room. I thought that was weird since our family members had already checked in & were seated. Also, in front of my husband they asked, "Are you the Beth BIRTHDAY party?" Even though it wasn't a surprise by any means, I was kinda bummed that they had to point that out...I mean, what if it was a fun little ambush & he didn't know that the others were meeting us there? Strike 1. The second fault of Sake was how we were seated next to loudest party in the room...a children's birthday. While all hibachi restaurants are known for a noisy exuberant time, we couldn't even hear our waitress, nor she us. It went all night like this as well. Strike 2. Aside from the above, the food was very good, our chef was entertaining & the service was right-on. The complimentary fried ice cream & birthday gong was a cool plus to my husband's first ever hibachi experience. And oh yes, he got a squirt of Sake too. read more

All right folks, fair warning: this one may include some vulgarity. So here goes....a work colleague was leaving our department, and we planned a farewell hibachi lunch at Sake, thinking it would be something a bit different. And it sure was. The eight of us head over for lunch on Monday around noon. We ask to be seated on the hibachi side, where we are the only customers. Soon after we are introdued to Mr. Osh Osh, our lively chef, who starts out with the regular hibachi song and dance. He gets a few chuckles here and there. He presses on, and begins his anatomy lesson with his cooking oil, all the while making lots of, "Ohhhh yeah baby, take it, take it!" comments along the way. His oil drawings continued throughout the food preparation- we saw his depictions of upstairs, downstairs, and a combination of the two (read between the lines here). Mr. Osh Osh finished off the meal by spraying whip cream into one of my colleagues mouths, and then stroking the can afterwards. That about sums it up- definitely not what we were expecting for a Monday work lunch that involved zero cocktails, but I can't say it wasn't entertaining! The R rated routine would probably fly with most young people on a Friday or Saturday night, with sake in the mix, but it was totally bizarre in this setting. We had plenty of laughs, but there were some awkward moments as well! As for the food, I thought it was good, and the portions were huge. Lunch hibachi was very reasonably priced at about $11 which included soup & salad. If anyone in your group could be described as conservative, move on to the next place! read more

We made reservations for two for 7:30 on a Friday night. We we're 10 minutes late (as usual!) but we're still seated within five minutes. We ate at the hibachi grill which seats 8, with 2 other groups. I ordered the filet; it was marvelous. My fiancee ordered the chicken and filet, but the chicken was just okay. The hibachi chef was great, however, the people at the grill next to us seemed to be having more fun and their chef shot saki shots in their mouths. I wonder if we didn't get saki shots because there was one person under 21 at our table? Also, after dinner, I was able to shop for shoes at Famous Footwear, which was also great. We were also there this past Saturday night with a 7:30 pm reservation for 15. This is a new restaurant in town and we heard it's a hot spot. We were told it was a 20 to 30 minute wait and we were seated 35 minutes later. Drinks were served promptly. It took some time to place our dinner order, so we too approached the hostess's desk to see what's up. We thought there seemed to be a shortage of chefs for the grill. Once the cook arrived, the entertainment was enjoyable and the food was very good. The whole evening had a party atmosphere. Darcy, We happen to know the two hostesses working that evening. (school friends of our kids) Unfortunately Saturday evening, an upset patron expressed his frustration by venting and swearing at the hostess. Most people would be sensitive to rudeness. I don't understand why some people feel it's acceptable to harass those in the service industry? These girls are very capable. read more
