I went here before the movies with a friend and reallllyyyy enjoyed their sushi! Such quirky names for the sushi + delish taste! I got the angry wife, which was AMAZING. The torching took it over the top. Unique flavors and quality ingredients, def will be back. Also got miso soup for our meal and it was delish as well.

Excellent local sushi spot! We got the lunch combo (3 rolls for $18) - spicy tuna roll, tiger roll, and crunchy salmon roll. All were delicious and a great portion for lunch. Also had the kamikaze roll which is a crispy tuna rice - A+++

Sake Toro exceeded expectations! The sushi was not only delicious but also served with lightning-fast speed. Everything was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. Will definitely be back for more - if you love great sushi, you need to try this spot!

I treated myself to a date night and had a fabulous time! Sat at the bar, ordered 3 different rolls, and all 3 were delicious. Servers were great and very attentive to refills or asking if I wanted to put in another order.

I sub out the rice for lettuce!

This has been my daughter and I's go to for sushi for over 6 years. They know my order by heart, last week I switched it up! Always good service, love the area and prices are great! I do miss their cucumber martini.

Celebrating daughter's birthday this is her favorite sushi place. We love the large selection of no rice rolls. Friendly staff all wanting to help make your meal the best. Event going on outside so very noisy.

This cozy sushi spot is tucked away on Main Street in Frisco and is perfect for a date night. I have been going here for almost 7 years now and have always had great food here! The something's wrong roll and the Dancing eel roll are two of my favorites and I generally try something new every time I come. The chef suggested we try the yellowtail paradise roll and it was nothing like I have tried before! You have a creamy type sauce to dip into that is superb

Really wanted to like this place especially since it's a literal 2 minute walk from my place. Ended up waiting practically an hour for overpriced soggy sushi. Food: I got the Alaskan Dream & Ex-gf roll. Listen, $15-18 for a roll is absolutely understandable IF the tempura isn't soggy, IF the breadcrumbs aren't stale, IF the nori isn't make everything fall apart and IF the fish laying on top of the roll wasn't bits of fish to make it look like a whole piece of fish. $5 for fresh wasabi - not sure if this is normal, but I haven't been charged for fresh wasabi anywhere I've been in the past year Service: Placed my order at 4:46pm. Arrived at 5:15ish? Waited for my two rolls until 5:34. There were 3 seated tables, 1 guy at the bar & me.

Food took about 10 minutes to make and there were two people ahead of me (maybe more online). Not a knock, just saying plan accordingly or order ahead for take out. Menu is big with mucho variety of the Japanese and Korean cuisine spectrum. An interesting item was the jalapeno popper which had a sweet ginger sauce all over it. I tried but not my thing due to said sauce. The main was a chicken and steak bowl with noodles and veggies. They give you huge portions with a lot of protein which make the price justifiable. I wish there were more veggies and the 2 cups of sauce you get are not enough for that size so ask for extra. Finally for my fellow Coke-a-holics, this is an enemy operation (Pepsi). Generally speaking i may come back here. Not sure. It's kinda comfort foody and i do wanna give the galbi and one other item a try. It's a 3.5 star rounded up for me.

The little bit of beef was under seasoned and dried out like it was from the day before. The vegetables were raw and the fried egg was burnt and inedible. The rice was dry like it had been sitting out for a long time. The are too many good Asian places around to have to waste your time with this nonsense.

The sushi chef provided a great experience in serving us in the omakase course. I enjoyed my conversation with the sushi chef as I sat at the sushi bar which I think is part of the omakase experience. For $75, the omakase experience was amazing for the price and quality of the dishes. I enjoyed every dish, especially since the chef served a variety of nigiri's made differently.

Unfortunately, the service and kitchen timing still need quite a bit of work. One of our orders initially came out incorrectly, and the meals were delivered very unevenly--one person received their food, then another, and by the time the third person was served, the others had essentially finished. Service was also slow, and simple things such as water and ginger weren't replenished. About half of the menu was unavailable as well, which is understandable for a new restaurant still finding its footing. That said, the wait staff were extremely nice and receptive to our feedback, and management handled our concerns appropriately and compensated us fairly. This is an expensive restaurant, so expectations are understandably high, but the quality of the food makes me optimistic. I genuinely want Hinoki to succeed and will definitely give it another try after they've had some time to work out the kitchen and service kinks. There's a very good restaurant here--it just isn't quite there yet.
