Decided to come here for lunch with my boyfriend. Their lunch special came with 2 appetizers and 1 entree that are both a good portion for the price. I got the papaya salad and the veggie spring roll. And my boyfriend got the Tom yum soup and veggie spring roll. I would say my favorite out of the two was the papaya salad, it was savory and spicy and refreshing! Probably the best Papaya salad I've had in a long time. The restaurant is very hole in the wall and super easy to miss since it's in a pretty large shopping complex but when I walked in I was blown away! The restaurant itself has the comfortable and cozy vibes of a coffee shop but the class of high end place. The restaurant is small so I'm sure when it's busy there are long wits but luckily I went around 2pm and it was only about half packed. My family and I ordered the Green Curry, Tom yum soup, and Drunken Noodle all with tofu and medium spice. The medium spice was way spicier than I expected but the food was delicious! This was my first time ordering green curry but I really felt that this was so much better than the other curries I've tried in the past. The drunken noodle came with fried tofu instead of steamed which I appreciated because it was more flavorful and filling. The Tom yum soup was a great size as we easily split it between a couple people. Overall I would definitely come back to this restaurant if I'm ever in the Centreville area again! Came here on a Sunday for an early dinner around 4PM and I was impressed by how full the restaurant was! The seating is a bit cramped, but since we came at an off time, we didn't wait too long. The interior was very cute, and the atmosphere was light and causal. My friend and I split the calamari and duck roll appetizers, and I ordered chicken Pad Thai for my entree. The calamari was pretty good - crunchy and nicely paired with the sweet sauce, but not the best that I've had. The duck roll was my least favorite. For the price, there wasn't much duck, and the outer skin of the duck roll was chewy and not crispy. It also had a bit too much sauce for me. I really enjoyed the Pad Thai! It was pretty flavorful, but wasn't super sweet, like some Pad Thai I've had in the past. They had no problems removing peanuts (since I'm allergic). The portion sizes for their entrees are pretty large. The prices are fair, compared to other Thai places around. For the atmosphere, friendly service and large portion size, I'd probably come back. It's a nice place to catch up with friends, but there might be a wait if you come during a lunch or dinner rush since the restaurant itself is a bit small. I'm really interested in trying one of their curries, so maybe next time! A. Hidden. Gem. I was just craving for noodles, but didn't expect to be blown away like this. The food is great. My favorite is the Crab Fried Rice. For my Drunken Noodles, of course they hit the spot. The Panang was good too. I normally order just my usual dish list, but felt like trying something new... again, WOW... so if you're not the adventurous type, order the Prik Gleur. Wow, I loved this place, enough said. It was delicious, quick and flavorful. The lunch menu also comes with TWO appetizers and I really liked the spring rolls. I went at around 12:30 on a weekday and there was no wait, however, it did get crowded later on. The atmosphere was a little loud because they fit many tables in a small space. But, the food made it all worth it. I wish I tried the Thai tea but I will be back! The drunken noodles were spicy even without asking for extra spice. Ordered from Sakoonthai multiple times and the food is always exceptional! I usually place an order for delivery when I am busy and the food has always arrived promptly, in great condition. Sometimes the delivery estimates that it will take 1-1.5 hours but in my experience, the food typically arrives in 30 minutes. I've also never personally had any issues with any food being missing from the order or anything like that. The food does get a little cold during delivery so I recommend reheating before you eat it. The portion sizes are huge so we always have leftovers for the next day, but it's amazing if you reheat it in the frying pan. Although we couldn't find drunken noodle in Thailand, despite it being a Northern Thai dish, perfect for drunk nights, the Drunken noodle was THE BEST I've ever had. I kept picking at my husband's plate, which is rare for me. We even added a little of the spicy vinegar to it. There's a 4 option sauce/condiment carousel they can bring out for you, which traditionally carries some pepper infused vinegar, crushed red pepper, and something else I can't remember. The portion of the mango sticky rice is pretty small, but we shared it anyway. LOL! Price: For everything the total was $48, which isn't bad at all, although we can get all this in Thailand for about $10. LOL! Service: Great the entire time. Delicious Thai food and super friendly service! Yes, there was a little lag time between the appetizer, main course and dessert but it was a busy Saturday night so I'll give them some slack. We had a hard time deciding wether to get the curry puffs or the chive dumplings. Such a hard decision but we ultimately decided on the fried chive dumplings and they were delicious. I love the chewy texture and that it was chock full of chives. The dipping sauce was super flavorful and perfectly complemented the dumplings. Next was my go to Thai dish, Chicken Pad Thai. The flavor was right on point, the portion size was huge and the noodles were perfectly cooked (some places either under cook or over cook the noodles). Probably one of the best pad thai dishes that I've had in a long time. Lastly, the green tea roti dessert is an absolute must! What is an amazing meal without an amazing dessert? Just do it! Had chicken pad thai like what I would usually get in any thai restaurant. I thought this place is probably one of the best thai restaurant in the town but pretty disappointed with the taste. It had a lil ketchup-like taste and it was little blend when I tried it. I wish it was lil more saucy. The portion size was pretty big and the price was reasonable too ($11-12ish I think) but I wouldn't get pad thai again from here. When I tried my friend's pad see ew, it was definitely better than pad thai. If I go back again, I would probably get something other than pad thai. This place is great. The atmosphere is classy and new. It's very elegant. Not something you would normally expect from a Thai place. The restaurant itself is small unfortunately. To the point where you can hear everyone around you in detail. In my opinion I feel the menu is limited and focused on very popular dishes. Nothing wrong with that but I was looking for other dishes you don't normally see such as go Moo Grub since pork belly is popular in the area. My Pad Thai here was delicious! Driving to Clifton for Thai food seems crazy when there are numerous other Thai places near my home! This place is so worth the drive! Before you ask, yes they share the same name as a location that existed near the Fairfax Costco. That Thai place had since closed down but this new owner bought the name, kept the recipes and ramped up the flavored! It's cozy inside with just enough seating. The couch and bookshelves theme is quite prominent but unlike Sisters Thai, this place has plenty of elbow room to stretch and enjoy your meal. We started with Chicken Satay and fried tofu. The flavors were amazing! The chicken was moist. The tofu was light and tasty. Their menu offers the option to add extra protein. We added extra beef to the Ka Prao(basil beef). It was amazing! The flavor lasted in my mouth the whole night. That was not even my meal! I like to order Pad See Ew at new places just to compare places. I loved the grilled taste of my noodles. I've been here a couple of times and I'll say, I go here for the food. The service isn't the greatest but the drunken noodles and Thai iced tea are probably one of the best in this area! The drunken noodles were really spicy but I wouldn't have it any other way. My friend and I shared the papaya salad and it was delicious! Chose this place for a chill girls night out, and it was just that. The restaurant has a very chic/homey feel to it and the decor is so cute. Even the restroom was decorated (and clean!). One thing that was kind of confusing for us here was the fact that my friend asked if anything on the menu was gluten free, server 1 said no. However, server 2 said yes. With the COVID-19 precautions, we nearly maxed out trying all of the Thai restaurants in our neck of the woods and decided to branch out to chantilly to try out some of their establishments. Upon reading the raving Sakoonthai reviews, we decided to give this place a try. Boy oh boy...best decision ever! They have both outdoor and distanced indoor seating available. Given the heat of the summer, we elected with indoor seating. We felt very safe, tables were spaced 6 feet apart from each other and there was only one other guest inside, and all of the staff were masked up. The interior design inside was absolutely adorable..but the ultimate winner was the food! We are thai food lovers...and have tried our fair share of drunken noodles and green curry. But wait, guys wait. This is NO ordinary drunken noodle. This is the BEST we have ever tried. If only words could do me justice to describe to you the freshness of the "wok" fried drunken noodles, seasoned with the perfect aromatic touch, with the perfect crunch of vegetables, and tasty seasoned chicken. When you think it's an entree, think platter portion instead. And I almost finished the whole dish myself because it was just that good. With the two of us so filled on this, we could barely even finish half of the green chicken curry. Yumm, don't even get me started on the green curry. The aromatic fish sauce of the green chicken curry will awaken your taste buds to a glimpse of true Thai cuisine. Served on top of rice? Oh my stars, deliciousness. Best Thai food in the region (for now)... Food is clean and decoration is modern and appealing. There is an outside sitting area for dining during good weather. The Pad Thai is excellent... not too sweet. The Drunken noodle is the best dish in my opinion with a nice kick (spicy)!
