This was my first time here, I think. The large, comfortable venue was clean and the staff was welcoming. They also offer a Senior Discount. The place is busy but the steam tables are always full. So many choices! Lots of appetizers. A Mongolian-style food station. Sushi offerings. Seafood, chicken, fish. Veggies, salads, noodles, rice, potatoes. Desserts - from fresh fruits to many baked goods and ice cream. A variety of cooking styles! There is something for most everyone. The table attendants were very efficient. The moment I left my table to get more food, my dirty plates were removed and the table wiped. My ONLY complaint is that the food, once it reached my plate, was not as hot as it appeared to be on the steam tables. This distracted from the food quality. However, the seasoning was really good on most everything. This buffet opened at 11:00am, and me and my friend arrived at 11:03am. The first thing I noticed was how spacious this place is: there is definitely enough room to accommodate large groups of people. The cost for one adult (as of July 2026) during Monday to Friday lunchtime, comes to $18.31 after tax, if only drinking water. $21.53 after tax if you order a drink/soda. I noticed a HUGE amount of cherries in the fruit section, so I went for those. The fifth or sixth cherry had white mold. I said "uh oh" and a nearby male presenting worker said "why, what's wrong?" so I showed them. They said "oh it's probably the cream". I put that cherry back, plus the ones I got initially. My plate was clean, so there is no mixed food contamination. Two workers went to the cherries and started going through it. What I'm wondering is how did "cream" get in the cherries and they haven't been opened for 10 minutes yet? And how did cream get on a cherry under a pile of cherries? The only other gross thing was the water. It was from the sink. Not filtered. If you've ever had Sacramento public water, you understand how atrocious it tastes. The rest of the food, was actually pretty good! Granted we arrived when they opened, but all the food was laid out/presented well. There are lots of chicken related dishes. Wow, this place surprised me. It was a quiet Wednesday night, but the food were always available and fresh. It was my first time here and we immediately loved it after our first bite. Dinner usually has the better varieties such as the salt baked crabs, salt and pepper shrimp, and our beloved cajun crawfish. I am very surprised by their quality of sushi. They have a few rolls - cooked and raw - and then their nigiri salmon. Wow, it was super fresh (as fresh as a buffet can get) and I had quite the few. We wanted to see the difference. They had just about the same selections with the exception of what I listed above - crawfish, crab, shrimp. The nigiri was still as good and fresh. I can't even count how many I had lol. The service was really good the both times. They're always ready to clean your table. My mom decided to tell them that it was our birthdays and that she enjoyed the meal. About 10 minutes later, our waitress brought over two plates of fruits and veggies created into a blooming flower! What a surprise! But wait, there's more. She brought over birthday gadgets and trinkets. I enjoyed all the food I had here, and there is a lot of variety to choose from. Got here right after they opened and all the food was fresh and fully stocked. They have all the classics you would expect from this type of buffet: general chicken, lo mein, sushi rolls, cheese wontons, chicken skewers, immitation crab in various forms, etc. You name it, they probably have it. The also have a hibachi grill that looked yummy, but I didn't get around to trying it. They deserve a higher star rating than what they currently have on here, in my opinion. My partner and I came here for a casual dinner date at Sakura Grill & Buffet and overall had a solid experience! We went during dinner hours, and the place was pretty busy but not overwhelming. Seating was quick for two people, and the waitress, QiQi, were friendly and efficient in clearing plates and refilling drinks. There's a big selection of sushi, seafood, hot dishes, and grill items. We especially enjoyed the crawfish, baby clams, and a few other seafood dishes. The sushi was decent for a buffet -- not super high-end, but fresh enough and constantly being restocked. Went there recently. First they challenged my age for senior discount. Sushi was uninspired and rice was hard. Ingredients did not taste fresh. Fried shrimp tasted like reheated leftovers from last week. The shrimp meat was mushy. Calamari was breaded but soggy/ lukewarm. Salmon was overcooked. Anything stuffed with cheese was horrible. The hibachi was decent but they did not label the meats. Hot and sour soup was ok but they didn't have any bowls available. Had to find staff. To start this review is to that my roommate decided to go to Sakura Grill & Buffet to eat but the whole experience started out bad when we founded out the price was high. The total price for us was $51.47 and to break it down it goes like this for my roommate, the amount was $21.99, my was $19.80 because I'm a Senior Citizen. The price for the sodas we had was $2.99 each. Now we talk about the food and we each had a few plate filled with different kinds of food and each of us had our filled and we are paying the price because both of us are having stomach problems. The kimchi I had was a little mushy, the Sweet potato was dry, along with the potato salad, and macaroni salad. So we both of will not be going back to Sakura Grill & Buffet and I advise that if anybody are thinking about going to have a meal at a buffet please choose another buffet and not Sakura's because maybe the food might not good as it should but I would stay away because of the price. read more

I love going to buffets that have a family-oriented feel, and this definitely met my expectations. While it costs more on the weekends, they are an all you can eat place which makes it worth it! I paced myself to try the hibachi grill, the salmon, and seafood boil. All of the food has so much flavor! It has yummy desserts to enjoy at the end, including ice cream. The service is timely and mindful, with workers coming to clear the table quickly. It is also a lovely atmosphere to celebrate birthday parties-- my family and I got to celebrate our mom here. I had to arrange a reception and decide between multiple restaurants. Overall this place beat out the rest. Price, food varieties (lots and lots of trays), adequate service, and the space. The only negative is the parking. I came in on a Sunday to see the location and inquire about the reception I'm holding. On Sunday, parking is packed. I was told Thursdays should be less traffic for parking. Thursday came and parking was still crowded. Deposit for over 40+ people is $100 then will be taken off on the day/night of the reception. Space is great. Variety of food helps with not knowing individuals specific dietary restrictions. Service is adequate. Very attentive. as soon as we arrived, we were greeted with friendly customer service, and they rolled with the punches of dealing with a large group. They seated us pretty fast despite it being a weekend dinner and quickly brought out our drinks. They stayed on top of clearing out any empty plates and fill our drinks. The dinner was to celebrate my mother's birthday, and to celebrate they brought out the most adorable mandarin flower plate for her and sang her happy birthday with lots of bells and whistles. An ayce located in the Watt Ave area by Winco supermarket Plaza. This place has Chinese and American food fare. I used to live in the area and would always frequent this chain. When I'm in the area, I still come back here as the food is still good quality and flavorful/consistent, and affordable. Service is quick to check in and you get seated fairly quickly and attended to with drinks you wanted when checked in. Spacious seating and has areas where it can be dimmed too. The restroom is clean and has a curtain before entering it, which adds a nice Japanese cultural touch. They have small booth table for one or two ppl in case you wanna come eat alone, which is nice. Staffs always makes sure to collect any dishes from table so you have room for more food. I always enjoyed my experience here and will always support when I'm in the area. Today, I went to Sakura Grill & Buffet for my family dinner. It was amazing, they applied 50% discount for my sister's birthday. After paying, they sat me down VERY quickly. They had such a variety of food! You will get the experience of REAL hibachi chef, he is truly amazing! Service was great, all workers were friendly to my family and I. I would strongly recommend coming on a weekend since they tend to have a bit more and restock quickly. Also remember to try out the Mongolian grill in the back to create your own dish. The restaurant has lots of families and friends and it's more of a casual spot. Tonight they've been playing all Taylor Swift songs but usually it's top hits music. Sakura has a wide variety of my go-to Chinese menu items. I was in awe viewing the trays of General Tso Chicken, Fried Wings, Mushroom Chicken and Honey Walnut Shrimp. I didn't expect the sauce-based wings to taste like Buffalo, but it was pretty decent. In fact, I enjoyed the wings and the imitation crab soup out of the entire buffet. The service was decent. I paid upon entering and requested for a soda (+$2.99). The waitress served me promptly with couple of refills during our lunch. She even served me the obligatory, happy ending fortune cookie on a nice, "tipping tray". lol I took advantage of the Hibachi Chef's services, requesting for a Mongolian-grilled Chow Mein with Steak and Scrambled Eggs. I was glad the Chef had his seasoning/sauce in hand, because I don't recall customers having the liberty of layering their own sauces like in a typical Mongolian BBQ restaurant. I do remember using the ladles of garlic and chili oil though. My Hibachi Chow Mein was a tasteless disaster. Even the steak seemed questionable. The meat was not juicy or succulent at all. I wasn't sure if the staff was hoping to have their customers just pour soy sauce/hot chili oil on their cooked food to compensate for the their tasteless food. Sakura aims for a variety of dished, but serves nearly piss poor quality food. While the variety here was a "plus", the taste and quality on the other hand, was a deep minus.--Sakura deserves 2.5-3 stars. The restaurant was spacious and there were plenty of hungry customers that early afternoon. I was kinda annoyed at another customer sitting right behind me. For 20.99 (before tax) we had an amazing buffet. The variety of food was enough to satisfy my vegetarian friend as well as myself. The restaurant was pretty crowded but the staff were quick about cleaning and clearing plates. The buffet lines were clean and the food tasted fresh. I stopped in to treat one of my friends to lunch and it was $48.00 for 2 people to eat, BUT this Buffett was so worth every dollar, this place was such a good find. The service: The service was so good, the lady was making sure we had drinks every-time the drinks would get low, it felt like we was the only people in there on how much fast service she was giving us. The food: ALL THE FOOD WAS REAL GOOD, there was things I didn't care for but that's because I don't like those foods from any establishment, like fired bananas, beef ribs, sushi, & salmon, BUT there was a lot of foods that I absolutely love, those foods were: coconut shrimp (MY FAVORITE), the fried rice (SO MUCH FLAVOR), the Alfredo pasta, shrimp, broccoli & beef, spicy pepper chicken ( has jalapeño in it), spring rolls, stuffed mushrooms, the hibachi bar & more, that was just the favorites, my friend loves everything he has as well including the salad. In some cases, it's tasteless typical, and in some cases, like hibachi bar, it was excellent, grilled right in front of you fresh food meats, and vegetables. Top it off with the sushi bar, some good desserts to choose from and packaged ice cream (hidden in the furthest corner). Place is lacking for some guests organization on the entrance, and by there food counters. People are jammed with no direction which forms ridiculously long, pointless lines. As a first timer, this place really blew me away. As soon as me and my family walked in we were greeted immediately with smiles. The price aren't bad and I believe cheaper than other places. A additional huge plus is that they serve beer and soju at this place. The ladies who were working in the front were patient and answered all my questions. They had a lot of different varieties of food stemming from American to Chinese, and Japanese. The food was alway piping hot and delicious, its wasn't too salty compared to other places. The options for seafood were endless, shrimp, octopus, shellfish of all kinds, steamed fish, grilled fish, fried fish, etc. within thinking the fried whole shrimps being the favorite as I saw at least 3 people with plates stacked high with shrimp only. They also advertise hibachi but the noodles are honestly spaghetti. So it just doesn't taste right even after adding all your favorites and picking a sauce. The add ins for the hibachi were pretty standard and the cook does make it to order. The non-seafood options were ok, my favorite being the cream cheese wontons and the pepper chicken. The rest of it was dry or under seasoned. I wasn't expecting high quality restaurant food but a lot of the food looked like it had been sitting out for a bit too long, and wasn't appetizing. read more
