I have this one star because food and service was good. The rest of the experience was less than good. The food is to much out in open and I witnessed some women with long hair getting into food especially the ice cream cooler. There is a sign by ice cream cooler saying that children below 10 years old need a parent with them. This was not enforced and totally ignored. I saw a five year old sticking his hands in the bucket of ice cream. Absolutely disgusting. The food shields did not protect the food from foreign objects from people from my observations. Really couldn't wait to leave after seeing that circus. Hoping I don't suffer any side effects from eating there. read more

Should have listened to the other reviews. This was without question the worst restaurant quality I've experienced in my entire life. There were only 2 prepared Chinese dishes (chicken with broccoli and beef with broccoli), with everything else some form of deep fried and sauced chicken. The chicken items were fried tough and over-sauced; completely inedible. The lone fish was tilapia, which was offered steamed with skin-on, and deep fried with skin-on, which was perhaps the most disgusting thing I've ever seen!! As we sat there, we listened to others complaining at their table how terrible the food was. The interior was dank and depressing, and smelled and felt of the humid stench of steamed fish and fake crab meat. Sitting here in the car afterward, our clothes, skin and hair stinks, and we completely regret wasting $11.50 each after tax with water for lunch. This place should be shut down, existing by taking advantage of tourists and poor, diabetic locals. Mostly regret the loss of our time, time that could've been spent at other places nearby for a decent meal. read more

The food was pretty good for buffet! However the staff was pretty rude and short with you. They gave each customer one plastic glove to wear when going to serve themselves food, however one glove per customer is only practical if you're serving yourself food once. There was also not any social distancing whatsoever. The men's bathroom is not only unsanitary but unsafe, the plumbing is literally held together by duck tape. As a mostly lifelong Houston resident, I am eaten my share of Chinese buffets. I didn't expect much from an $8 buffet in Pigeon Forge, TN, especially considering how hideously ugly the building is. I was shocked to discover Sakura to be the best Chinese buffet I've ever eaten! The dishes were uniformly hot and tasty. There were only a couple I didn't care for and they weren't nasty, just not my thing. The sushi was good but the Chinese portion was better, in my view. We enjoyed our food here. It's typical buffet style Chinese food. Sushi tasted fresh with several options to choose from. My favorite was the Japanese grill. You fill your plate with raw veggies, rice, meats, etc. and the chef grills it in front of you. I requested a fried egg added to my rice... so good! read more

The place was small, but, the Buffet selection was huge. They will even cook hibachi style. One star is because they have a very large All Day Buffet sign out front that says $7.95 the fact that it is only Wed, Sat and Sun is not clear. They charge almost $8 for a 3 year old who had a plate of rice and a drink. A 13 year old is considered to be an "adult" here. Total cost for a mediocre lunch? $52.19 for 2 adults, 1 teen and a toddler. BE WARNED! Not good value for money. PS...listed as Japanese but this is DEFINITELY just your average Chinese food. The waitress said the owners keep all the tips so be aware when tipping that the greedy owners keep every cent and the waitresses never get a penny. The restroom was beyond disgusting, blood on the seat, urine on the floor, looked like it had never been cleaned. I've seen better outhouses. When you consider you can eat at the Apple Barn for the same price that should put things in perspective for you. read more

Showed up an hour and a half before closing(9:00). 1/3 of the buffet trays were empty and the rest looked like it was sitting for a long time. Should have walked out but they had us pay before we walked in - should have been a big clue to check it out before paying. Kids were hungry so I touched it out. We did try some of the Chinese Buffet but mostly ate sushi. I usually stay away from the sushi at a buffet but theirs was better than good and for the price we paid it was a bargain. The dishes we tried from the buffet were good as well. I think it is always important to visit any buffet when they are busy. This way they are constantly bringing out fresh food. We almost didn't try this place because some of the yelp reviews but they had a higher google review. We showed up for dinner and was greeted promptly and politely. The price is FANTASTIC especially on a weekend. For just under $8 per person you won't find a cleaner, tastier, or best bang for your buck around. The staff here is so polite and attentive. The food is constantly coming out fresh and hot. There's a good selection of ice cream and desserts. I don't know how they are able to offer hibatchi, a full sushi bar, soup bar, and hot buffet line for such an affordable price. The place is a little run down looking on the outside and not that easy to get to. Don't let that deter you. We were seated promptly and courteously. The buffet has a good selection of Asian dishes. The General TSO has nice heat and spice, there 5 soups to choose from, the spring rolls are light and crunchy, and sesame chicken is very nice. There is also a pretty good sushi bar with variety of sushi, eel and sashimi and a Mongolian style grill which looked good however we stayed with the buffet. The aromas from the Mongolian grill were quite tantalizing though! Dessert buffet was decent and not just the usual soft serve ice cream and Sara Lee cakes. I'd definitely recommend Sakura to anyone. Food quality is what you expect at a buffet so don't think you're getting gourmet. But it was good and for 2 people it was $20. The sushi was "meh" and filling was strange. One roll I had seemed to have crunchy tempura pieces as the middle of the roll. Really strange and not very good. Although there are petty rolls, I'd veer away from them because they lack flavor. Stick to the basic California rolls. I also had oyster something or another and it was gross. The rolls and donuts were good as were the green beans and brocolli. Steamed fish was light but I was apprehensive about it because it was sitting in a pan of water so I was concerned it might be water logged. For desert I just had fruit because the other deserts looks "meh". I wish I had had the cook whip me up a stirfry but had filled up so maybe next time. This place is extremely busy and parking very difficult. Wait to get in was over 10 minutes so I think they'd benefit to expand to a roomier location. The server seemed very confused and forgot my drink twice. The attendant at the front desk was obviously rushed but lost his service orientation in that. He was gruff and borderline rude. But again, he was very very busy so it's understandable. I'll go again and give the stirfry a try. Otherwise, it's okay, not fabulous and good for large groups with a diverse craving. read more

I love sushi and I love being cheap. When I heard that there was a Japanese buffet that serves endless sushi for $8, I was sold. The buffet is more then sushi. I had fried rice, cheese wontons, dumplings, mussels, Chinese donuts and a little more. The food was delicious and fresh. It was well worth the money. The only criticism I have is that the restaurant needs an upgrade. The walls and wholes in them but were boarded up with pieces of wood. Also there was mold in places in the ceiling. This restaurant definitely needs an update. It has that old musky smell. The hibachi area is why it gets 1 Star although you can tell it's low quality steak. There is a variety of Chinese cuisine and some American snacks.
