I was having a bad day and thought some Japanese food would cheer me up. When we get there the front person was rude because we couldn't understand him. The waiter at our table was very nice. A tepenyaki grill was the ticket for some and the sushi offerings were the choice of others. Everyone sampled a variety of dishes on the main buffet and were more than pleased. There were two drawbacks: beverages are $4 (the buffet is only $10) and the ice cream station was really quite messy. Overall it was very good. Truth be told I've never been a fan of buffets, but seeing as it was Thanksgiving, and most restaurants were closed, and everyone else wanted to to eat here, who was I to say no? Things started looking up when I saw it had pretty good reviews, also the price was reasonable too as dinner was $10.99 and it included sushi and some rather large shrimp, but being vegan, I went in thinking my options were going to be limited but it turns out I had a pretty fantastic meal. What I really loved was the hibachi station. I filled my plate up with tofu, onions, broccoli, zucchini, and carrots and watched as they cooked my food, and it was really fantastic, especially with the drizzle of a sesame ginger sauce they had there. Other than my hibachi veggies and tofu I also got these fantastic ginger and garlic green beans, veggie noodles, and plain white rice, but what really stole the show for me was their braised cabbage... I know what you're thinking.. trust me, I can see it now: "This girl is going on about cabbage? Must be something wrong with her" but trust me, try it. My other friends tried it and they ended up getting up and getting platefuls themselves. Maybe it's msg magic at work, but that dang cabbage was stellar and now, I will attempt to make the same at home; I'll let you all know how that turns out... anyway.. The only non dairy item for dessert I got was the plateful of fruits, but they had lychee fruit which I love and is a rarity to find so another nod of approval to Sakura there. This place was insanely busy, which made for a kind of chaotic, noisy atmosphere. The food was about what you'd expect from a buffet. Nothing spectacular but all pretty tasty! The sushi was not the best I've had but they had lots of different kinds. The hibachi was very good and quickly made to order. I found it odd that the food wasn't really organized. There were fried bananas next to sweet and sour sauce and spring rolls and pasta salad next to the the jello, hard boiled eggs next to the chocolate fountain. This was our first time here. We have driven by Sakura several times and expected it to be a higher end place. When we went inside, I was a little disappointed because it was a little worn. I didn't have high hope for the food. We were seated and went right to the food. It's not really a Japanese buffet. Mostly Chinese entrees. There is a huge variety and a grill where you can choose your ingredients and they will stir fry it for you. I tried several options and wasn't disappointed. Very delicious. I was surprised. I loved everything I selected. Not everything looked good to me, but my selections were spot on. There is a small sushi selection. It was good, but the other options were the reason l'd come back. The price was $10.95 per person, drinks extra. Considering it's a tourist area, that's a huge bargain. If you're looking for a high end experience, this is not your place. We were heading out of town at the end of vacation and my wife saw the all day Buffett for 9 dollars sign and we decided to try it. The Buffett gave everyone a single plastic glove to wear at the Buffett to scoop up your food with. Looking back I don't think this was a good practice, should be a clean new glove every trip to get food. The food was hot fresh and tastier than you would expect for such a low price. After leaving my wife immediately got sick. We had a 5 hour drive and it took us 3 hours to make it 20 miles. We stoped for her to use restroom a countless amount of times. At that point it was so late we got a hotel room, I then got sick and we were both in and out of the bathroom for two days. I don't know what went wrong if it was old, bad or unsanitary issues but it really ruined the last bit of our trip. read more

I went to this buffet while staying in Tennessee for vacation, and it was absolutely amazing! All the food was delicious and fresh. We were all given gloves and had to wear masks while getting the food, which everyone seemed to be doing. I absolutely loved the coconut shrimp, it is AMAZING! We have been coming here for the last 2 years regularly, and I thought things had started to decline in food quality, but today's visit with out of town family was horrible. I have spent the last 2 years raving over this particular restaurant. Today half the bins were empty, and what food the had was all dried up and taste horrible the pieces you could bite into. I do not recommend this place at all now, and will not return unless I hear things have changed drastically. I even told the waitress, when she asked, that is was the worst I'd ever had there, and they dont care, hence why they collect your money before entering the dining area. SUPER GROSS I used to eat here regularly. It was a very budget friendly, clean buffet. The price is still right, but it was so nasty I couldn't eat there today. I went in and paid upfront as usual. I have this one star because food and service was good. The rest of the experience was less than good. The food is to much out in open and I witnessed some women with long hair getting into food especially the ice cream cooler. There is a sign by ice cream cooler saying that children below 10 years old need a parent with them. This was not enforced and totally ignored.
