Random find when we were in the area and we were more than satisfied. Honestly, I was full after 1 roll. The rolls are huge and presented nicely. Everything was really fresh. Sitting at the sushi bar, watching our food being prepared was a nice treat. Service was great and easy parking right in front.

Ordered: Sushi and sashimi combo - 5 Salmon collar - 3.5 Spicy tuna crispy rice - 5 Service was easily 5 star and was pretty quiet on a Wednesday around 6pm. There isn't much to the Salmon collar but tasted pretty good. Was about 2-3 bites with a couple of fish bones. Place was clean and ambiance was friendly.

really solid japanese food in a pretty normal looking strip mall, i was pleasantly surprised! from the appetizers, the karaage was very well seasoned and fried and calamari tempura was okay. the rolls were all very good! on the menu, they are categorized into fresh, tempura, and baked rolls. the cucumber roll (f3) was loaded with sashimi and probably my favorite! the elvis roll (f14) was super spicy to me but still good quality! the double double (t9) and sakuraya special (t18) tasted pretty similar with both being california and shrimp tempura inside. very good quality all around! lastly, the scallop volcano roll (b7) had lots of scallop and was really unique. service was standard, a little lacking at some times like not filling up water frequently. but not a huge dealbreaker. overall, i'd recommend sakuraya and come back to try other dishes!

Sweet staff! Perfect rice proportions. Ain't nothing I dislike more than too much rice in my sushi rolls.....anyways they do it perfect. Would be down to be a regular at this spot. Pretty quiet on a Sunday night.

Came in on a Wednesday for lunch. Our server Debbie, was superb. Fish quality A+ Service was 5 star. We'll be back.

had another fantastic dinner at Sakuraya Sushi, and I've got to say, it totally blew me away! From the moment I stepped inside, the warm atmosphere and welcoming staff made me feel right at home. The menu is packed with a fantastic variety of sushi options, and everything was super fresh! I kicked things off with the tuna tartare, which was perfectly seasoned and bursting with flavor. For my main course, I tried the chef's special roll, and wow, it was definitely one of the best sushi rolls I've ever enjoyed--creative ingredients and beautifully presented! The service was quick and attentive, just the right balance without being pushy, which really added to the relaxing vibe of the evening. Plus, I loved that the prices were reasonable, especially for the high quality of the food. If you're in the area and craving some sushi, do yourself a favor and check out Sakuraya!

Yellowtail jalapeño roll & Maui roll! The onions on the Maui roll is really delicious and melt into your mouth. The presentation was awesome, this is one of our favorite spots to get some quick sushi. It has comfortable seating and booth inside located in a tiny market strip mall. The staff is very friendly and always welcoming.

Absolutely outstanding! The sushi here is fresh, beautifully presented, and has excellent flavor. Every roll was crafted with care, and the fish quality was top-notch. The staff were warm, attentive, and made the dining experience feel special. The atmosphere is inviting and perfect for both a casual night out and a celebratory dinner. One of the best local sushi spots I've been to, and I can't wait to come back!

    Sushi & Maui Roll

One of my favorite sushi spots! This place has such a wonderful feel, it's small & quaint with wonderful service and quality sushi. Their salmon sashimi is incredible, and some of our favorite rolls are the Maui Roll & Sunset Roll. Highly recommend!

A great sushi spot if you are looking for good value and tasty food. I would say that this is your typical Japanese-American Sushi restaurant, with a variety of rolls, noodle dishes, fish entrees, other meats and more. The service was great and food came out quickly. We had a late lunch around 2PM on a Sunday and there were only about 4 other tables of people. Overall a safe choice for good sushi, large portions, etc. highly recommend to anyone looking for sushi.

My date and I went with the 13-item omakase dinner and sat at the sushi bar right in front of the chefs, which I think is the way to go for an experience like this. It was fun watching everything being prepared and having each piece served throughout the meal. Of everything we tried, the black cod was easily my favorite. It was so good that I had to order another one at the end. So technically, I guess I had the 14-item omakase. No regrets! Oshima is a pretty small and intimate restaurant, so I would recommend making reservations in advance. We booked ours through Yelp and were seated practically right away when we arrived. Parking was also easy. The restaurant is located in a small commercial strip center with plenty of parking available, so that wasn't an issue at all. Overall, I really enjoyed my first omakase experience. The sushi was fresh, sitting at the bar made the meal more enjoyable, and that black cod alone is enough to bring me back. If you're an omakase regular or, like me, looking to try it for the first time, Oshima is definitely worth a visit.

The fish here is really high quality, and each piece melted in your mouth with how fresh and buttery they were. My favorites were the bluefin tuna, scallop, cherry salmon, and black cod. This is such a steal, especially considering how the omakase already comes with a piece of bluefin nigiri, but you can still choose to get more bluefin in your roll. My only criticism would be that they can go a little heavy on the wasabi sometimes, but that's more of a personal preference since I prefer to eat sushi without wasabi at all. I made reservations so we could get the premium set. It was our first time, so not sure what to expect. The reservation for seating wasn't needed as the tables were mostly empty but the reservation was needed to make sure the omakase was available. There was no sushi bar seating, so the omakase came out all at once instead of a piece by piece experience. That's fine. Oddly though, the waiter did not explain which fish each piece was, but the sushi chef James told us at the end of the meal that the waiter was new and Chef James then explained the fish himself. Weird backwards experience but every one was kind and well-meaning. The quality of the fish in the nigiri was exceptional. Some of the best I've had in the area considering how close it is located to competitors like Ooshima and Kaigen etc. The fish all came dressed, which was to be expected. It was all pretty delicious except it was all just a little bit sweet for my taste.. I prefer more savory, salty, or lemony. That being said, the quality made up for the preference in taste which could easily be remedied with some soy sauce, ponzu, lemon, etc. The bite of Wagyu nigiri was genuinely the best wagyu I've ever had. We also tried the mussels and agedashi tofu for hot appetizers. Would 100% recommend either dish. Overall, happy with the experience as wifey was a happy birthday girl. We did not have room to try any regular rolls so I cannot comment on that. The one negative thing I will say is to absolutely skip the handrolls - any of them. The machine compacted rice made a roll that should be delicate feel mishandled and ruined the texture/experience of that roll. That being said, will definitely be coming back again for some more of the best quality nigiri in the area.

3.5/5 Stars - Nice Experience, But Some Service and Timing Issues…read more We visited Tabi-Ji Teppanyaki for my husband's birthday and had an overall decent experience, though there were a few things that would make us think twice before returning. We chose the dining room seating rather than the teppanyaki tables. The staff did offer us the teppanyaki experience, but since we don't eat red meat or chicken from certain places and weren't sure how the food preparation process worked with mixed ingredients, we opted for a regular table instead. One downside was the seating arrangement. We were seated away from most of the other guests, and it often felt like the staff forgot we were there. Our original host/server was attentive and friendly, but once they were busy with other tasks, it became difficult to get assistance. It was also not busy for a Tuesday evening. We found ourselves waiting for long periods or having to wave someone down, which wasn't ideal, especially for a birthday dinner. As for the food: * Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll (4/5): Fresh, good quality fish, and a generous portion. A solid sushi roll. * Garlic Edamame (4/5): Flavorful and exactly what you'd expect from a good appetizer. * Lobster Duo with Miso Soup, Salad, and Fried Rice (3/5): Unfortunately, the lobster was quite chewy and seemed overcooked. The miso soup and fried rice were both enjoyable and helped make up for it. * Unagi Donburi (4/5): My husband's meal came with white rice, miso soup, salad, and fried rice. It was his first time trying eel, and he really enjoyed the soft texture and flavor. He said he'd definitely order it again. Our biggest disappointment was the timing of the food. The Unagi Donburi arrived significantly later than everything else. By the time it came out, we had already eaten most of the appetizers and other dishes and were pretty full. It's unfortunate because it seemed like a dish that would have been much better enjoyed fresh, but we ended up taking most of it home. Overall, the food ranged from good to very good, and being able to reserve through Resy and use our Amex dining benefit definitely helped offset the cost. However, considering the price point, we expected more attentive service and better pacing of the meal.

I decided to give it another chance today and ordered something super simple and safe for lunch: a shrimp crunch roll and a cucumber salad. To say I was disappointed the moment I saw the food is an understatement. The roll was so oversized and thinly put together that there was no way to pick it up or eat it without it completely falling apart--and sure enough, it did immediately. I ended up having to eat the entire thing like a rice bowl, just picking at the ingredients. The cucumber salad, especially at $7.50, was also extremely disappointing. The cucumbers were all sliced at completely different thicknesses--some were incredibly thick while others were paper thin--and it was basically just cucumbers with soy sauce poured over them. It had almost no flavor. There just seemed to be absolutely no effort put into making the food taste good, look good, or even be practical to eat. It honestly made me wonder who is back there preparing the food and why there doesn't seem to be any quality control. I ended up throwing away about half of my meal because it simply wasn't enjoyable or properly put together.
