I come through this location occasionally after yoga for their super refreshing drinks, but today I was feeling a chicken ceasar wrap. This location has a large parking lot and drive thru line, and a walk up window. It's usually nice and clean. I ordered at the drive thru, but I usually use the mobile app, which is super easy and convenient to use. The people working were nice and very fast. I've never had any issues overall but have noticed them running out of some ingredients in the past. This is such a terrible location. I haven't been here in a while because of the service, but I recently went back and the employee was extremely rude and gave me attitude for no reason. As someone who has worked in customer service my whole life, I understand that people have bad days--but when a customer is being kind, it's unacceptable to respond with rudeness. Ok. I have very mixed feelings right now. I ordered a salad without protein. The person repeated it back to me, not only at the speaker box but at the window as well. There was a split second where he held the receipt in his hand, and I didn't ask for it. Within minutes, I get home, open it up, and it's a chicken salad. See, I prefer veggies. I have been coming to this location once per week for 5 years now. I have noticed a negative change in the customer service and food quality at this location for a few months now and it seems to be getting worse and worse. So bad that I won't be back. The drive thru line is SO slow. Last time we were there we waited at least 15 minutes in the drive thru line. The employees are nice but have no sense of urgency. Then we get our food and something is always wrong or missing. For example, missing tortillas, missing double protein, wrap instead of salad, etc. The salads just don't hit like they used to. I live at Thomas and Scottsdale. I have family and friends come into town often and multiple times with multiple guests, I've come to this location and they don't have all of the ingredients. My office has ordered twice...and they are zero-for-two for me. What do you do with the Romain leaves? Because I got half a bowl of just the white spines...which are hard and gross to crunch thru in the half romaine/lettuce mix. Original owners sold this local-AZ-chain back in 2021. Whoever owns it now is a cheapskate, cut protein portions significantly, flavors downhill, and crazy inflation on prices. Used to be a great spot: $5 salads that would be difficult to eat in one sitting with a flavorful balance of ingredients & $1 drinks. Now it's overpriced, soggy, and minimal portions with negative taste. Sad. But luckily for AZ peeps, we now have Angie's Prime Grille with the original owners making a comeback! Angies is a blessing. Sadly, since the original owner sold this company, I've seen a gradual decline in quality, protein portion sizes, salad freshness ( never eat the tomatoes- they are soggy nasty and gross!) , increased prices, and poor customer service . It's essentially a hit or miss experience now. Today, your new employee at the S Scottsdale location, was too busy carrying on a long conversation with the gal in front me, to realize he forgot the fork and napkin in the bag. That's just really poor. This is a drive-through!! Every customer needs a fork! Some new employee coaching is highly recommended. Hate to say it, but the owner is a cheapskate. Has raised prices regularly since taking over in 2021. What used to be a quality low price and high value experience, has turned into a greedy overpriced experience with crappy customer service and not so fresh salads. It's a shame to see successful businesses change what was working- because they can. A wonderful salad and drink for under $10- hell, for under $8, is no longer. This location has inconsistent customer service. I cannot say they are great, but it's clear they prioritize speed over quality. They rush customers in and out without paying attention to the food. When I visited, I ordered a Cobb salad with chicken, along with a cold brew made with hazelnut and oat milk. The first time, my salad was unpresentable, seemingly thrown together in haste. The coffee was watered down, lacking any flavor of coffee, hazelnut, or oat milk. It was disgusting. I returned to Salad and Go and spoke to an employee at the window. I explained that my salad looked thrown together and my coffee was watered down. I asked if I could get a replacement or a refund. The employee was courteous and provided a new salad and coffee. However, the second coffee was still watered down with no flavor, and the salad was only marginally better. My bacon was burnt, the eggs were undercooked, the tomatoes were hard as if frozen, and the salad was soggy. Along with that, the grilled chicken ruined the salad. I have not returned to this location and consider the experience a waste of $11.44. I am not someone who likes to complain, but this pattern indicates a need for better training and customer service--greetings and smiles, especially during the holiday season--and more attention to food presentation and proper cooking. I dislike leaving negative reviews, but when my food is poorly prepared or the staff shows a lack of effort, I am compelled to voice my concerns. My go-to is the Cobb salad with chicken and blue cheese dressing. While I was ordering ahead online I also noticed there are SO many customization options such as adding 2x the protein and taking out or adding in toppings. Perfect for picky eaters and those with dietary restrictions. Of course, I can't turn down a dollar drink, so I got the Arnold Palmer Cucumber Mint tea. I love that their salads are BIG and so are the drinks. My salad and drink were delicious and refreshing. Pro-tip: If you're in a hurry, order ahead online or on the Salad and Go app! Super convenient and easy. Please teach your employees the difference between romaine lettuce and spring mix. I don't like spring mix because it's chewy; I only like romaine. I ordered 2 jalapeño ranch salads today and the description says romaine. However it was a mix. Also I added avocado with no bacon and there was no avocado in my order. I find that this is pretty normal with these S&G locations to use whatever lettuce they want ever since the original owners sold the business, (even when I specify romaine). One of my pet peeves is for a restaurant to alter the description but not tell you about it. Also, what's with no specialty lemonades not being available?
