Eat healthy. Look good. Feel good. Isn't that the reasons why you eat salad? This Salata by far is the nicest I've been to in the DFW area. They keep this place so clean and all of the menu items are prepared fresh daily. They have a ton of items you can choose to put in your made to order salad like broccoli, bean sprouts, carrots, jicama, beets, alfalfa sprouts, kale, quinoa, etc and they all look good. It's easy to get to this location from either 114 or Caroll in Southlake. Ok so everyone must be thinking, a salad or salad wrap for $8+ and if you add meats it's $3+ more bringing your total to $11+ for a salad. Isn't that way overpriced?! Well this isn't just any salad. It is one of the best tasting and most fresh salads you will ever have. Their dressings are all fresh and very flavorful. I just absolutely love it. Only downside is that sometimes you get that stingy person who won't give you enough portions of everything in your salad. They need to weigh out some of the items like meat so you get the same portion control each time. For that, I deduct 1 star but I still regularly go to this spot for my salad needs. read more

Absolutely love this place! Just like Chipotle, I got to work my way down the salad bar pointing out everything I wanted to add. There is a large selection of toppings and meats. Everything appears and tastes to be very fresh! Although I just got water, they offered many exotic sounding teas and limeades. The ladies working were very friendly. They even came around to take our plates away and offer to refill our waters. The restaurant was very very clean. My large salad with meat (+$3) was about $10. Although the large salad was only $1 extra, I would've had plenty of food had i ordered the smaller salad. Check this place out! read more

It's a chain restaurant, so it's hard to give a helpful review if you've been to any of the other Salatas. This location is brand new (Nov 2015), and looks pretty swanky inside for a salad bar restaurant. Salads are $8 (small is $7) for all veggies/toppings, and they charge extra for meat- I think $3 for chicken and $4 for seafood. You can get your salad to eat there or to go. They have a lot of tasty teas and lemonades, as well. Odd thing: every Salata I've ever been to has been FREEZING. If you're cold natured, dress warmly! read more

You walk in to what looks like a cafeteria line. They ask if you want a small salad, a big salad, or a wrap. Then you choose your lettuce, ( they also have spinach and fresh kale) then you choose all of your toppings. They have such a wide selection of toppings. (Alfalfa sprouts! Which not many salad bars carry anymore) As many toppings as you want for one price. The charge $1 extra for artichoke hearts, $1 for avocado, $1 for chicken. It can rack up quickly though, 3 of us paid $41 somehow.. We asked for 2 teas and a water and are pretty sure they charged us for 3 drinks. Unfortunately receipt was thrown away so we'll never know. The ginger lime dressing is fantastic, though, more calories than ranch! (found that out after) while looking over the take home menu. Decor was nice, everything was sleek looking, and white. Very simple and modern. Service was decent. They were polite. They should probably have another person working on Sunday around lunch time though. They seemed to be a bit slow getting through the long line. And there was a table next to us that was left un-bussed almost the entire time we were there. They busser came out right as we were about to leave and just did one big sweep of all the dirty tables. I would definitely return. read more

Many different choices of veggies/meats/dressings, etc. My only let down was there are no choices of salads created by the chef or whatever, like at Snappy Salads. I'm a simple man, and if I want a "salad suicide" with everything but the kitchen sink thrown on, I'll go to Jason's Deli. I like to just look at a menu of ideas and say "yeah that particular salad sounds awesome today, make that!" But sadly, there is no menu like that here. So this is basically a Jason's Deli salad bar, but you tell someone else to put stuff in the bowl for you. Neat new salad restaurant in Southlake near the town square. It will give Snappy's a good competitor. The service was excellent and they are eager to let you test dressings. We enjoyed our salads and loved the balsamic dressing. Fun drinks with cool teas on tap! This place has a wide selection of greens, toppings and dressings to make your own personalized salad. Bread items are included at a very reasonable price. You can add meat and avocado for a small extra charge. Soup and wraps are available, but I have not tried them yet. Some people refer to this as the Subway of Salads. I think that is about right. You could also throw in Freebirds, as well. This is probably the most variety of salad I've ever encountered. Everything is fresh and hand tossed right in front of you. You can make it as "light" or as "heavy" as you want with this giant selection. You basically just pick your size of salad and go down the line as you would with Subway. The possibilities are endless. The only drawback is that you end up paying $11-$12 just for a salad. My favorite salad bar!! They have tons of fruits and veggies to choose from, including their "topping of the month". They have a variety of proteins such as chicken, shrimp, salmon, tofu... also with soups, bread, and pita chips. They have a tea tap with amazing, exotic teas and lemonades! The only downside is that Salata closes frequently- they close at 3 on Sundays, and closed early on Memorial day. This is understandable, but all the restaurants around them were open, and while we were in the car deciding where to eat after discovering it was closed, multiple people tried opening the door only to discover the same thing! The salads are good but this particular location has a few things to work on. The folks taking orders and making the salads didn't speak enough English to understand what even the basic ingredients were. I ordered the harvest salad. They had a cheat sheet to work off of and pointed to the Greek salad to confirm what I was ordering. I said no but in looking at the cheat shower, the ingredients on it (for the Harvest Salad at least) didn't match the Salata published menu - it had pesto chicken in the harvest salad instead of plain chicken so I tried to communicate plain not pesto...hard to get this across. They missed ingredients as well. I didn't get any cranberries or walnuts in the harvest salad and had to go back for them. They didn't understand me when I was explaining that they were not put in my salad in the first place- I again had to point to the ingredient I was missing and they gave me like a teaspoon of each one/ I think they thought I was coming back for extra. Again, salad was very good but it was a pain to get to the point of getting the right thing. read more

I'm so glad I discovered this place. So many toppings and salad dressing options. I love this place cause you just tell them what you want on your salad and they throw it together right there in front of you. There is no limit to how many toppings you can put on your salad, you just have to pay extra for the protein items. I am in LOVE with this place. In concept it's like Subway - but for salads. You walk down the serving line and tell them what you want on your salad and they build it for you and mix it up at the end. You choose whether you want a small bowl ($7), a large bowl ($8), or a wrap. Mostly everything is included in the price of the bowl with the exception of a a few things such as your proteins, avocados, etc. They have so many toppings and they are all so fresh (no wilted lettuce). The salad dressings are delicious and not too unhealthy (they have nutritional info pamphlets at the front of the store). They have several protein options as well - my favorite is the mixed seafood which consists of salmon, crab meat and shrimp (extra $4). At the end, you can top your salad with croutons or get a piece of bread. They have a few dessert items as well - like cookies. I've never tried one since I'm always there to eat healthy, but they always look fresh and soft. Anyway, this is delicious restaurant with healthy options and I wish there were more places available like this. :) read more

This Salata location is absolutely fantastic! You're always greeted by the friendly staff and they all seem to genuinely be in a good mood every time I visit. I usually order a wrap and fill it with most of the veggies. I will say, if you order the wrap, they give you a ton of food so don't expect to look pretty eating it. UPDATE - Salata has greatly increased their speed through the line and the quality of people who work here so bravo! Only complaints are that the forks break too easily and there's no rewards program (we frequently visit salata) Food is excellent but service is not. Although employees are nice, they don't know how to work the line. It take way too long for them to get through even just 2 couples. They need to learn from a company like chipotle on how to work the line - the grapevine location of chipotle knows how it's done! Also the to go orders are noticeable significantly smaller (not just how they look but am always hungry after them versus in restaurant even though I get the same thing). If the issue is because it doesn't fit in the to go box, get a bigger box :) if I'm paying the same price for to go then I expect the same amount of food. This is absolutely the nicest, most modern Salata I've ever been in (compared to MacArthur, DT FW, and DT Dallas locations). It fits Southlake. And by golly, I think the food almost tastes a little better! I noticed they added cabbage in their Salata mix which actually pairs exceptionally with the ginger lime dressing. I also love the variety of tea on tap - indeed very modern take on a Texas staple - iced tea. I would love though to see a meat added that has a taco seasoning so I could make a taco salad. Could be ground turkey as well. And then you can have the option to add tortilla strips (and of course avocado, black beans, and cilantro). And boom, a fresh, healthy take on a taco salad. read more

I had such an amazing experience when I came here! To start, the salad that I ordered exceeded my expectations. I'm used to going to SaladWorks (unfortunately, I live in Philadelphia and we don't have this here!), where you are given a 5 topping allowance. At Salata, this is not the case. You can put however much of whatever you want in your salad, and everything available is all really fresh: so much more so than its competitors. When I came in I couldn't make a decision on what dressing to put on my salad, and the owner was so sweet (and patient with my annoying indecisiveness) and had me taste all of his own "dressing concoctions". Latest visit today. Another lazy Saturday afternoon for our go-to healthy eating joint. Ingredients are vivid green fresh and environment sparkling clean, spacious, and comfortable. No better place in the entire South Lake area, to enjoy that "Totally full yet not stuffed feeling". Also enjoyed the "organic ice tea bar", where various flavors of ice tea flows freely, all zero or low calories -- refreshing without the aftermath. Very well-planed spacious and modern lay out with seats spread throughout the dining area. There is not a "bad seat" in the house. The improvements since our last visit has been day-and-night. Extremely glad that the owner / franchiser / operators are passionate and care enough to maintain the high standards. Never had direct contact with them yet, except for the parting mutual "thank you". But ever so happy that this joint is here-to-stay for our occasional "healthy salad fix"! read more

Since Salata has opened I've been here at least 6 times. I enjoy the healthier options on the menu. The food is great. The reason for the one star is the incredibly awful experience I had today when ordering a wrap. I literally get the same thing every time. Bbq torrilla, peas, corn, salata mix, black beans, beets, onion, egg, cheese, brocoli, honey mustard, asian chicken, and avocado. This has literally been my order every time. I asked for an extra scoop of peas and corn, that is the only extra I've asked for. Do it everytime. Today Nancy (who you can single handedly thank for this review) informed me it was too big for the wrap, I would have to pay for both a wrap and salad (literally I have gotten this every time and this is the first this has happened). So I left the extra she said I'd have to pay for a whole salad for which filled maybe 1/4th of the small bowl, if that. What she left in that "extra" was part of the avocado and chicken they already charge extra for and no i did not ask for extra of it. So I got charged 3 dollars for the chicken and 1 for the avocado but they left half of it in the "extra" that i was going to have to pay more for... was nice watching her try to wrap it tighter and tighter to hide the gaping space she said would not hold the small bowl they fill for the wrap, with the same contents its held at least 5 previous visits. Then they just throw it away when i refuse to pay extra for what has been the normal every other visit. Probably won't be back. Good food. Garbage service from Nancy. read more
