My companions loved their baked eggs and sausage gravy, but my breakfast was not worth $19 with coffee. Wanted to like the place but it was so loud I could barely hear across the table. I came in here on a Friday morning. The place wasn't too busy so I was seated right away. I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy, French Toast, and drip coffee. The coffee to my surprise was pretty decent quality. The Biscuits and Gravy were great- the biscuits light and fluffy, and the gravy rich and savory. I got the steak salad (medium-rare) and my bf got something with a biscuit and gravy ( i forgot the name) and he loved it. He did say the biscuit alone is dry but the gravy really help with the flavor and dryness. I got the vanilla latte and my bf got OJ. And later we order some fries with honey mustard. My bf loved their honey mustard and their fries. Their fries are thin and yet crispy. The coloring on the fries is very light so I am assuming they don't use the oil a lot or they cooked it for a short time. Overall, we enjoyed the experience. My bf wants to come back! This is going to be a bit complicated so hold onto your belt loops. We arrived at 10:10am to eat breakfast before arriving at the airport at noon. There was a short wait with only 2 parties ahead of us and were given an estimated time of 25-30 minutes for our table to be sat. 50 minutes later at 11:00am our party of 5 had not been sat. However, multiple 2 person parties had been sat that arrived after us (which is fine, as they were sat at smaller tables). However, what was not fine was that there were 2 square 4 person tables available next to each other. As we needed to eat quickly, we asked if we could have those tables since we were next up to be sat. We were told that those 2 tables were being saved for a group of 9 that arrived and got on the wait list after we did. The reason that those 2 tables were being saved was because there was a third table which was close to being done eating next to them that was going to be attached. As a result, we were waiting on a family to finish eating that was at two square tables which were already pushed together. At 55 minutes that family at the tables were going to get sat at left, still leaving the clean 2 tables waiting on the group of 9 as well as the dirty 2 tables that had just opened up. 5 minutes later, those dirty tables that were supposed to be ours still were not cleaned. We complained about the situation and explained that we needed to leave, but were met with resistance and anger. At 11:15am we left to go somewhere else after waiting 65 minutes for a 25-30 minute estimate. When we left the group of 9 that arrived after us was seated and had drinks. Horrible vibe, terrible attitude, uncourteous service, and not somewhere I would ever return based on the way we were treated. Deplorable. read more

It's awkward and disappointing when you visit a restaurant for brunch and the staff makes you feel like a bother to them. Especially when you are introducing the place you enjoyed before to someone new. The food was good but the service we received here was horrible. We were not greeted when we walked in. We stood there for awhile waiting for some acknowledgement and to hear what a wait time would be. After awhile, another patron noticed us waiting and volunteered to move to a smaller table so we could have a seat. Even then, we were still ignored. We had to ask to order and he seemed annoyed that we bothered him. Part of our order was not given to us, simple requests were misunderstood, they were out of potatoes (for brunch, really?) and were given greens. We were never even told they were out of potatoes, that would have been nice to know so we could have chosen something else. We were ignored for the most part. While the food was good, I did feel like it was overpriced for what I received. This order (1 piece of bacon was devoured by me) and coffee came to $20. Even though the restaurant is pretty small in space, they were still able to accommodate a table for 7! The space gives off a great homely vibe and the wait staff were friendly and attentive. The more I delve into the Seattle food scene the more I realize I'm the hillbilly foreigner (yeeeehaw). I recently went on a date with a well known culinary stylist/currator. On said date,she ordered an exotic drink, took one sip, and asked our server for a little glass of simple syrup. I asked her why she did that, as she poured it in her drink, and said cause the drink wasn't balanced out. That. Shit. Blew. My. Mind! But then again, I grew up in the 90s adding grenadine to Zima, while listening to G-funk. It was at that moment that I questioned my food existence, and I was intimidated like taking the rock to the hole against Mutumbo in 95 #RIPSonics. Salmon Creek Cafe is cozy, bright, and well decorated. Very homey, warm, like you're having food at someone's house. There's about a dozen tables, a small bar, and even a fireplace. There's a glass display with cakes, pies, and other baked goods. Its usually busy more often than not on my visits, and feels vibrant without being overcrowded or loud. Sidetone: I've driven by this joint a hundred times on the way to Beerstar, a couple of my ex's spots, and general Whitecenter shenanigans. Sometimes you have to booze outside of your regular neighborhood or else people start to label you. If you want to label me handsome so be it ladies, but if its town boozer I'm going to take umbrage. You're welcome millennials. My go to is the Benny Biscuit which is prime rib on their homemade biscuit, egg, hollandaise sauce, and greens. The prime rib is tender, and the biscuit excellent. My fine dining chef friend who's accompanied me here a couple times always repeats how good the biscuits are...is that what the kids call a quiet flex? Other excellent dishes are the pesto eggs, and biscuits, and gravy. The B&G got a thumbs up is from my dad, and we know ALL dads are experts on this dish. Everything I've had on my visits for breakfast has been above, and beyond (strangely, I've only had breakfast, and not any other meal here yet). Well, the thing with the culinary woman didn't work out, so I can go back to eating food without being scared shitless. It sounds fun to date Top Chef until you find out you're being judged because you can't distinguish the nuisances between white, and regular old green asparagus. We lucked out and were able to be seated right away. I had a mimosa which had fresh OJ; delicious! Hubby had a Pacifico on tap which he always loves. Kids got hot chocolates topped with fresh whipped cream made with steamed milk from the espresso machine. As for food, hubs got the Reuben and fries. Tender and flavorful corned beef, tangy sauerkraut, and good rye. Son had the patty melt. He wasn't expecting it to be on rye so he ended up just eating the meat and cheese. He also really liked his salad with ranch. I got the OG breakfast. Potatoes were on point. Italian toast was not quite what I was expecting, but still tasty. Daughter got the biscuit breakfast sandwich which she devoured. It was a bit crumbly but that didn't stop her. Overall a great little breakfast place. Ate breakfast here two days in a row, the food was so good. The full menu is available all day, so I chose a green goddess quinoa bowl with sautéed veggies and cheese. The greens were fresh, the veggies were soft but still had a good crunch, and the quinoa was cooked to perfection. The green goddess dressing was awesome. I took a cherry pie slice to go and it was delicious! Great crust with plump cherries. It was the perfect sweetness. I had a salmon burger with fries the second day. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the burger came with the right amount of veg. The fries were matchstick size with Parmesan coating. They were a bit cold compared to the burger, but still tasty. What a hidden gem! This cozy coffee/breakfast shop offers delicious espresso and gourmet breakfast bites. Parking is plentiful. What a great first time experience. I searched out a new breakfast location based upon ability to get a great latte and a modest size breakfast meal. I arrived here on a late Sunday morning, and was a little worried about having to find street parking and having to wait for a table. Neither were a problem! There is a huge gravel parking lot on the south side of the building - you can't miss it, no matter which direction you are arriving from. As soon as we walked in, we had several tables to choose from- thank goodness. The decor is clean, maintained, and was very reminiscent of a modern country feel. A faux fireplace and a fresh bake goods display made this feel very inviting. I opted for a 12 ounce vanilla soy latte and the gourmet almond butter oatmeal. I am super picky about my lattes, and was very pleased with this cup! First- they served it in a short-wide mouth mug. This is essential to be able to enjoy the layers of a latte ( yes~ I am a little high maintenance with my lattes). The temperature was perfect, great foam, and just the right amount of vanilla syrup. And the oatmeal...I never knew how fancy/delicious oatmeal could be. They served the oatmeal in a deep bowl and layered on the top honey, almond butter, chia seeds, almonds, and jam. Yummmmmm This place is a must for good espresso and a light breakfast. Not suggested for untamed kids (like mine lol) or giant appetites. You know- this place is fancy! read more

Came here because it was the only thing open when I flew in. Was blown away even though I wasn't expecting much. The baked eggs is SO good and quite unique! Comes slathered in a bit of gravy and a LOT of cheese. I substituted the cheap with the biscuit and it went well with it, especially because I got a side of gravy. Totally didn't need that extra side of gravy, didn't realize it was already in the dish. I would come back just for this dish. My friend got a sandwich and they liked it. This is our second time ordering from Salmon Creek, both times delivery. The first time was pretty good, so we decided to try it today a second time. We weren't thrilled with our meal. We ordered the Cali Chicken Wrap with no chicken and substituted eggs instead. The wrap arrived loosely wrapped with its ingredients falling out, the chicken still in the wrap and the eggs on the side in a separate container. We paid extra for breakfast potatoes and received a few potatoes on top of the eggs. We also ordered The Green Goddess Bowl, but it did not look like the picture on the ordering site; two small pieces of cauliflower on top of a dash of quinoa and lettuce. Went here for brunch today after hearing they had vegan options. The decor is nice, clean, and homey. They had a couple of enticing vegan menu items: I ordered the Quinoa Breakfast Bowl (hold the eggs). If I'd been in a sweet breakfast mood, the Fancy PBJ Oatmeal would have called my name. The Quinoa bowl had nicely browned silken tofu bites in it, fresh greens, pine nuts, tangy tomato, plus a lovely lemon tahini sauce. I had a hard time finishing it, but it wasn't for lack of trying! I checked the dessert/baked goods case to see if they had any vegan items for later, but none at this time. I think on other days they do. They serve High 5 pie, too, which has a default butter crust, but you can special order a vegan pie. The wait time for food, etc. was a little slow, but not unheard-of for peak brunch time. Stopped by with some friends during lunchtime on a Wednesday, love that they serve breakfast all day! The staff was nice and there is parking in the back. Their menu had plenty of options for breakfast and lunch. I had the California chicken wrap w/ fries and a single order of a biscuit with jam&butter. The chicken wrap was 4.5/5, very simple but flavorful. The fries were amazing, thin, shoe-string, and crispy! Lastly, the biscuit.... the BISCUIT was probably the best I've ever had. I'm 100% coming back for it. I also had their housemade hot sauce, highly recommend having it on the side for your wrap/burger/fries. My friends both had the salmon burger and they really enjoyed it. One of them had the daily soup on the side and said "Wow..this hits" - not so thorough of a review to many but I know what he meant (great compliment). The beer on tap was also nice. Will definitely come back, I NEED to have that biscuit again and perhaps try their cafe out, the tea selection was large and had the regular coffee shop items on the menu. read more

Well, I can say I have probably driven by this place at least 100 times and not noticed it. Found it on Yelp and it looked so good. The restaurant is quaint at about 35 seats. You can order to go and they have a pastry case as well. We started with the raspberry scone and all I can say is - amazing. So fresh, buttery with jam and some light cream. You will not be disappointed. The coffee was very good and they had a broad offering of espresso drinks. We had the baked eggs and biscuit sandwich. Both were so good. The baked eggs were made to perfection with some light toast with jam to compliment. The biscuit had a honey glaze which was so buttery and flavorful. I highly recommend this little hidden gem. I have only eaten at the cafe once, but have gotten takeout maybe 7+ times over the last several months. I'm vegetarian and LOVE the Green Goddess quinoa bowl, but the lentil skillet is fantastic too. My husband loves the steak salad, and friends have really enjoyed the Napa Chicken Sandwich. The pies and deserts are amazing - the key lime pie and dark chocolate pecan pie are our favorites. Wine and beer are very affordable in the cafe. It's got a comfortable homey atmosphere and friendly service. The menu is pretty extensive, with a dozen or more options each for breakfast and lunch. Most times that we've been in, it's been busy but I think we've only waited for a table once - and then it was probably 5 minutes, max. Service and the kitchen keep up just fine even with a full house...which is pretty rare these days. The food is just as good: we've had several breakfast and lunch items on their menu and would certainly order any of them again.
