I go to Bandana for threading and blow dry. It was my first time trying threading and I had a good experience. I don't really trust anyone with my eyebrows because I have been burned by wax before. I also started going to her for blow dry. She makes my hair look like a celebrity stylist styled it. I would give her 5 stars but I want her to be more gentle when brushing my hair after washing prior to blow drying.. But the preference level on that varies from person to person. By far the BEST hair salon I've been to! The service they provide is exceptionally high. Rahima was beyond attentive when she was cutting my hair. In fact, without me asking, she made suggestions on how to style my pixie cut. I also didn't have to wait to get seated. Apparently Monday -Wednesday are slow days in the salon so they welcome walk-in appointments. Otherwise, you have to call to make an appointment. They also do eyebrow threading, which I decided to try out. Pamela (I think that was her name) did a great job as well, but make sure you emphasize how thin you want your eyebrows. I have been to Salon Beyond a few times since my longtime stylist Amalia Escobar moved here. It has been beautifully remodeled recently (it was a different salon before) and is a very nice and relaxing atmosphere where I don't mind spending hours in the chair chatting with all the stylists. Amalia has been doing my hair for about 12 years now, starting with just my trims, then coloring. She has done chemical straightening, highlights, lowlights, and full color on me. Every time it comes out beautiful. I don't have alot of patience and have a hard time sitting still, but the time always flies when I am with Amalia, and her effortless blow dry's have me leaving the salon looking like a model. So, I think Rahima is some sort of magical fairy-godmother for hair. After two years of me hacking at my hair with kitchen scissors to get rid of split ends instead of seeing a professional, I knew it was time to get a cut. I had been burned before by hair salons but took the leap again with Salon Beyond and Rahima after seeing a lot of good Yelp reviews. And y'all, she did SO GOOD. I showed Rahima two pictures of what I wanted; she never tried to push her ideas on me and respected what I wanted while also giving me feedback on how she thought she could make it look best. Even before beginning the full cut, she cut a little bit off and held it in front of me so that I could give her the "okay" on how much she was cutting off. I've never had someone do this for me before but the idea of it made me totally happy. In 45 minutes my hair was transformed from a frizzy, tangled mess into glorious, flowing shampoo-commercial locks. I felt so confident and awesome walking out afterwards that I had to snap a couple selfies with my hair blowing in the wind. This is my first time going to Salon Beyond and I can definitively say I will be returning. I am very happy with the whole vibe in there and the results. Thank you Rahima and team! read more

Rahima is great! I've had my hair cut and blow dried by her 3 times now and she has been great each time. She is honest with regards to what your hair really needs and she takes her time to wash, cut, and blow dry. I felt like she listened to me and executed accordingly. Worst hair cut experience I've had in a while. I had actually been to Salon Beyond twice before and will not be going back ever again. I called the salon at 12pm requesting an appointment for the same afternoon. The salon said they could take me as soon as I arrived since they had an appointment with another individual at 1pm. Thankfully I live right down the street so I was able to arrive by 12:05pm. I was set up for a haircut and blowdry with Haircutter 1 (I don't remember her name). She washed and trimmed my hair, I was getting bangs so she trimmed those as well. However, she super awkwardly cut my "sideburn" hair down to about 2" before I could say no! Now I'll have a few months of being unable to wear my long hair up in a bun or ponytail while I wait for those areas to grow back to an adequate length. Let's just say the hair cut itself was very mediocre. More importantly, the customer service was despicable. Around 12:30pm, Haircutter 1 was just starting to blowdry my hair after the initial trim when all of a sudden Haircutter 2 (who I'm pretty sure was Haircutter 1's boss, Rahima), jumped over and told Haircutter 1 that her 1pm appointment arrived and that Haircutter 1 needed to go start the consultation with the next customer before she finished my cut & blowdry! Rahima said she'd finish my blowdry and styling; however, I was left in a chair with wet hair for 10 minutes while Rahima finished up with her own customer that she had been working on. By the time Rahima was ready to finish my cut and blowdry, Haircutter 1 was ready to kick me out of her station for her new customer. Rahima assured Haircutter 1 that she only needed 5 minutes to finish my haircut and blowdry. And Rahima took 5 minutes to finish the job in a sloppy fashion. No one apologized for the terrible service and I'm extremely disappointed that the salon was so willing to have me come in for an appointment and yet they provided the very worst of standards. They got their $45 but I will not be supporting them ever again. read more

Don't waste your time or money. I went in for a trim and highlights. The process took longer than it should have and I guess their definition of a trim means taking 3 inches off. I had been looking for a full fledged salon and I found it! Salon beyond is absolutely amazing. Rahima is so incredibly sweet and she is a master stylist. I have gotten bazillion blowouts from her and I could not be happier with my hair. She also does my waxing and it's quick and painless. Not terrible. Not great. Just meh. Apparently rahima is supposed to be amazing according to other review but I usually get the other lady because I just do threading. $7 for eyebrows is not bad. However I will only come here if Threadbar is closed/too far to drive to. The lady who usually does the threading for me is not super friendly and she has a rushed/heavy hand that always make me feel like I'm being attacked. Also last time she charged me $7 for threading my chin instead of 5 because apparently it's $2 more if you thread under the chin, on the neck (which I never asked her to do/she should have said it's gonna be more before doing it). I can't speak for the salon, but I've been a longtime client of Amalia's. Amalia just moved here from B Beauty Salon and is the best hairstylist I've ever gone to. I am more than willing to follow her to any salon that she moves to because she's just that good. I don't trust anyone else with my hair, but I trust her completely because she is always honest as to whether a style or cut will work for you. She wants her clients to be truly happy with their results. She won't provide her services and just take your money if she knows something will not work for your hair. For example, on one occasion, I wanted to go very blonde and Amalia told me truthfully that it just wouldn't work with the texture of my hair (I have very fine, dark -brown hair naturally). She told me that I wouldn't get the results I was looking for without completely damaging my hair from the bleach. I really appreciated her honesty. I once strayed away from her and went to a fancy Paul Mitchell salon because I moved far from the salon she was at. What a mistake! I crawled back to Amalia and she graciously fixed the hack job that the stylist at Paul Mitchell did without ever pointing out what a mistake I made in leaving her momentarily. My hair always looks great thanks to her and I get compliments all the time for my color (currently a blond and light brown ombre). I trust her enough that sometimes I leave it up to her to choose how much she chops off and what shade of color to dye my hair. The results are always wonderful! To top it off, she's hilarious. Time just flies by when I'm in her chair. Anytime I see her, it's money well-spent. She has a gift for hair styling and is a true professional. read more

I had high hopes for this place as my mom recommended it to me and I had plans to lighten/get a new hair color so I decided to go here. First of all, if you're looking to lighten/bleach your hair just avoid this place overall. I don't think they know how to do it properly which is why she said it would have to be a process and I understood that, but then she tried saying the process could be up to a year of me coming in every once in a while while having her slightly lighten it every time (keep in mind she charged me $200 and only told me this after our session. So this means 3 or 4 more times of me coming in and being charged $200 every time for a mediocre job that barely even made a visible difference?!) absolutely ridiculous. The highlights they did on me were barely even noticeable despite being charged this amount of money. I found a nearby place called Cony's Salon that both bleached and dyed my hair the color I wanted on the same day while still keeping it healthy, my hair didn't get damaged (like the people at this place claimed it would) and they only charged me $140! Beyond salon seems to only care about money while trying to tell you an exaggerated version of what you need just to get you to keep coming and paying outrageous amounts of money every time. read more

I've never trusted anyone to cut or color my hair, but she completely transformed my locks from looking like a mess to absolutely beautiful and healthy! She made sure I was getting exactly what I wanted done, and even let me come in the next day to darken the highlights and made sure my hair came out perfect! Amalia is absolutely the best hair stylist I've ever been to. Not only is she amazing with her scissors but her personality is just so amazing. She cares for her clients as if they are her family. I've been going here for almost a year and don't know why I'm just getting around to a review... My girlfriend is a longtime client of Rahima's and now I am too. Very clean salon and I can get in with short notice. I find the people to be friendly. I just recently got my eyebrows and upper lip threaded by Suja (spell?). I hadn't done this since I broke out from a place at the mall 2 years ago. Suja was great and really listened to what I wanted-and no breakouts. I'm sorry that the girl below had an unpleasant experience. I've learned one thing about salons and doctors, people may be running behind so I plan on it. To be expected. And with all businesses, people make mistakes.
