I booked an appointment for my mother Roxana and when she arrived they took a half hour to see her. They double booked the appointment that's why they they did not want to see my mom. The stylist was very rude and unprofessional said she could not do the job without taking four hours.The way the stylist felt my moms hair and took it out of the pony tail was rough with the way she pulled her hair. She practically kicked my mom out of the salon. If I could give it a zero stars I would. The owner and the stylist are equally to blame and have no customer service. My mother went to another salon got her hair done and it took one hour. My mother showed them her freshly styled hair. They threatened to sew my mother. She told my mom "go back to back to your country" and that she could not afford to get her hair done at this salon and that she was "a piece of shit". They were very aggressive with my mother and got in her face yelling these things at her. It is unacceptable this behavior and treatment. read more

I made an appointment, explained that I wanted high lights and I had long hair. I was asked to come in at 2:00 PM. I waited until 2:30 before I was seen by Linda the person assigned to do my hair. She started playing with my hair roughly and said you have long hair and it would take four hours and then two people walked in that she had scheduled at the same time of my appointment so she started finding excuses to do my hair while playing with it very rough. The owner approached us since her tone was loud and told her what I wanted and said that I was right but this Linda woman was very rude and obviously trying to get rid of me. Other customers started coming out to see what was happening but Linda (hair stylist) would not accept to do my hair. The owner pulled me aside to try to reschedule me with someone else another day but I was too upset by then and I left. 1. Very unprofessional conduct to schedule two appointments at the same time. 2. Extremely bad customer service. 3. Refused to provide a cost at time of appointment and on arrival the Linda woman said it would cost 250.00 I left the place in tears from being treated that way. I would not recommend anyone go to this place that treats customers in such manner. Immediately after that I walked into fantastic Sams where I was greeted courteously and was seen in less than 5 minutes with no previous appointment. My hairstylist was very professional and sympathetic to what had happened to me. She did a wonderful job for much less and did not try to milk me of my money. read more

I will start by saying I chose this salon based on these reviews. I was very excited for my appointment as I very rarely ever do anything with my hair. After I setup my appointment online, I got a request to change my appointment from 11am to 10:30am. I approved. Well, the night before my appointment, I got another time change request but to go back to 11am. I went ahead and approved. I showed up at 10:30am just in case. My first impression was it was a very nice setup. There were other clients waiting for their appointments as well. I get that it was Monday morning, but everyone seemed so out of it. I became nervous when I sensed my staff member was already not having a good morning. I explained what I was wanted (mostly dark brown with burgundy/wine color in the bottom back part of my hair. I apologized for my lack of correct terminology. I basically wanted the wine/burgundy color to be most noticeable in sunlight.) I was told it would take a while to do so I made sure to ask if they had the time for what I wanted. I was told it was fine and advised I needed a trim. We agreed to move forward. FIVE hours later, my hair was finally "done". It was dried and curled. When I looked in the mirror, I was far less than excited. I was actually speechless (in a bad way). I had no idea I'd be there that long for something I hated so much. My hair is mostly red/hot pink and I can still see very light brown in the front in some areas. I have never been this unhappy about my hair. I literally want to cry. Because I don't usually have my hair done, I have no clue where to even go to have it fixed. I feel like if I ask to go back and have it fixed, I will be treated poorly. Not to mention, I would hate to pay again. I'm not sure where to go from here, but I'm not happy. I am pretty sure my staff member was just having an off day, but man, this is far from what I wanted. The red/hot pink isn't even the same color throughout. Oh, and in looking back, my hair never was trimmed as suggested. If I had the time, I would have stayed and demanded it be fixed. I wasted 5 hours of my day as well as $215. I gave the 1 star based on location and on the setup of the salon. Although I personally wasn't offered anything, I heard other staff members offer drinks to other clients. I called to make an appointment for color correction and Mayra was available for the service at the time. The salon was nice and clean that brought a very professional atmosphere. It was my first time visited but I'm glad that I did. I played with my hair a lot with all kind of colors, it ended up with a bright orange (mixed yellow) which is definitely not my favorite. Honestly, please don't go here. This place is unprofessional. They do not handle the customers properly. There is a mute guy working there, but he needs to not be there before he messes up someone else's hair. This place knows what I'm talking about. You did not own up to your mistake, instead you blamed your customer. But your customer texted your mute guy a specific message of what was wanted, and even yelled for help when she was trying to stop him from cutting off anymore hair. You are in denial about your mute employee aggressively holding down your customer after he cut off way more than just "3 inches". I am disappointed by your work ethic. read more

I can't believe no one has posted a review for Madrid!!! He's been doing my hair for about 10 years now. I tried other places just because but they never measured up. I followed him from Claremont until he finally got his own gorgeous place in Rancho. I get my hair colored dark in the fall/winter and highlighted in the spring/summer. His cuts are fabulous. I get compliments about my hair all the time. He uses the best products and my hair has never been damaged. He does take his time on every client so be prepared. First let me start with the bad. . . .the ONLY issue I've ever noticed (sans training from Tabatha Coffey's Salon Takeover, lol) is that the mirrors should be cleaned more and someone needs to make a regular habit of dusting. That's it! My hair dresser is Kerri D'Avello Carrasco and I love her! I decided to give her a try after searching for about 4 years for a new stylist. I like stylists that are so in tune with their clients and up-to-date on edgy technique, that I can go in and say, "Screw this hair! I'm done with it! Give me something completely different!", and having a stylist that not only can meet my expectation, but exceed it. . .that's Kerri. Everytime I see her I have people all over me asking me about who does my hair because they're so impressed with her cuts and color! The last time I saw her, I wasn't too sure I wanted what she was suggesting but she asked for my trust and I gave it. My hair turned out so incredible! My blue eyes stand out now instead of disappearing into a hodge- podge of natural monotony. She said that's what it would do and she was right! People have been going absolutely ape-sh*t for my new style/color and most importantly, so have I. So, I already have a bad haircut and I decide to call Salon Madrid for a cut to fix my bad hair cut.. When I called the salon a lady by the name of Michelle answered and I told her a little bit about my situation and how I had a bad haircut and that one side of my hair was inches longer than the other side, etc., etc., she reassured me that all sylists check to make sure the hair is even, etc. etc., and how good they are and that I would be happy. Well, I went in and had a very nice stylist, however, my hair was not even in density or in length.. I shouldn't have to point this out to my stylist.. It is my opinion, that it is her responsibility and her job to notice this, especially when I was in there getting my hair corrected. Lastly, I wanted to get an extra 1/2 inch cut off because I realized that the layers were not blending right with the back , so I left a message with Madrid AND never heard from her again.. It's one thing to make a mistake, but to not respond to a customer after claiming how professional and how much it means to come back or voice your concerns, if any, is truly disappointing. Needless to say, NO I did not have a good experience, and the management will say whatever they have to to get you off their back. so, $100 later, I had to pay again, but at least it's cut right the first time. Not a salon I would recommend, not so much because I ended up with a not-so desirable cut, because this could have been fixed if I would have received a return phone call, but because I was brushed off by my stylist after Madrid texted her and let her know to please call me. read more

I have been getting my hair done by Madrid for about 10 years now. Madrid, my hair and I have been through quite the love affair! He's been with us through blonde, brown, reds and blacks, and everything in between. And every time, no matter what crazy requests I had, I've always walked out with the most gorgeous hair. I've had some terrible experiences at other Salons, and I've never felt more comfortable than I do with Madrid. I have very long hair and usually cringe at the sight of scissors. There is literally NOBODY that I would trust to cut my hair, other than him. I've been with him ever since he was in Claremont. I now live in San Juan Capistrano, and make the 1.5 hour drive for him, without hesitation. He's professional, friendly, fun, and beyond amazing at his craft. I've been going to Nicole since I started my "blonde" journey (so about 4 sessions). I love how well she gets to know her clients and practically envisions the most beautiful outcome and makes it happen! My younger daughter whom is 14 years old desperately wanted long layers and someone to fix her curtain bangs (because the last place did not do her curtain bangs justice). We happened to be in the area and looked up salons and boom Salon Madrid came up, I am so happy I called because they happened to have an appointment available. The salon is gorgeous and everyone is so friendly and professional. Stylist Stacey was wonderful and gave my daughter exactly what she wanted. I've had hard-to-manage hair my entire life so when friend of mine recommended Raeleen at Salon Madrid, I was somewhat skeptical. I'm happy to say, that this has been a great experience. Raeleen is absolutely professional yet personable. She always returns my calls and texts within a few hours, and is always willing to accommodate my busy schedule. I've been a client of her for nearly a year now, and my hair is in the best shape it's ever been. What's great about Raeleen is that she's talented AND she clearly loves her job. It makes me look forward to my appointments with her. She spends the entire hour listening, and doing exactly what the client requests. After my first few haircuts done by her, I brought my mom in to Salon Madrid. My mom is extremely picky, so it's a pretty huge thing for her to actually like the place. My mom has been so happy with Salon Madrid/Raeleen, she refuses to have her hair cut by anyone else. It's one thing for her to go ONCE to a place, but the fact that she really prefers Salon Madrid says a lot. Everyone else at Salon Madrid has been great, including Benny. He helped with my Brazilian Blowout, which has been the best thing to ever happen to my hair! Raeleen has made my hair look great when it was curly, and also now, that it's straight. She's downright artistic, with the way she cuts hair. The price is great, and the mood at Salon Madrid is perfectly relaxing. They always have coffee and tea, which is great if you don't want to stop at Starbucks, or are running late. The only "con,' if you could call it that, is that there isn't any landscaping outside of the building, so it's kind of hard to get from the parking lot to the house (Salon Madrid is located inside of a really cute old white house). I've actually tripped on my way in, but that could just be because I'm clumsy. As far as the experience inside, I have no complaints. Yes! Im so happy I was refereed to Madrid. He did a great job reshaping my hair (I also left it up to him) and I loved it. He is very friendly and courteous and he definitely takes his time. His wife styled my hair so nicely I walked out there feeling like a million bucks! My hair is long, straight and thick so it rarely stays up any more than two hours. That day my hair stayed up all day and was still looking good the next morning. I recently went to a random salon to get my hair blow dried and had them give my hair some volume... that didnt last for more than 3 hours. Im not making that mistake again! Next time, Ill do the hour long drive if that's what it takes for my hair to come out right and last the whole day. Totally worth it. They have a beautiful location too. My stylist is Raeleen, I've been going to her for over four years. She is incredibly talented and really listens to what the client wants.
