I have been seeing colorist Erik Felix for almost two years, and I tell you: this man can do no wrong. Erik recently moved from his previous Beverly Hills salon to Maxime's on Rodeo. To be honest, if he told me that he was going to begin coloring hair out of his garage, I would follow him there. Dawn Fantau is amazing!! She's been cutting my hair and my daughter's hair for 14 years. I went to someone else while out of town for an extended amount of time and really regretted it! At a different salon I got a perm (yeah, that's on me for deciding to get a perm) and I didn't trust them to fix the HUGE mistake. I went to Flavia who nursed my hair back to health. She's a true hair artist who takes the client through a process that is healthier for hair. She's a lovely and spirited woman who cares deeply about her clientele and their hair needs. Máxime is a HAIR WIZARD!!! He's genius is a literal gift from the heavens! He gave my friend a haircut over 20 years ago. I have to say that as the hair cut grew out, it looked like a new cut every few weeks. She's constantly get stopped on the street by people inquiring about the cut. He has a style that only a European person who is gifted with great style would have!! I love his haircuts. He makes me look like a million bucks and I barely have any hair. My hair is thin and he makes me look like I have double the hair. In addition to that he's sweet, sexy and fun! I came to California from the East cost to attend a wedding. That being said, of course we're going to go to Beverly Hills to check it out, right? Well, while we were there, we naturally stumbled upon this place. I thought that my nails looked pretty gross at the time and should definitely get them done for the wedding. That being said, it's 35 for regular nail polish and 75 for gel nail polish. Holy hell is that a lot of money. But oh well, who wouldn't want to get their nails done in Beverly Hills, right? It's a sacred and holy place for money, indeed! Anyway, I ended up speaking with her for about 5-10 minutes trying to figure out what kind of look to do that goes with my dress (I showed her a picture). She truly IS an artist, though, because she has a vision. She sees things and isn't afraid to suggest them. She is also willing to work with you. It's very nice having someone patient working with you. It makes you feel important. I ended up getting a very neutral color on my mails with this drizzling glitter effect to go with my dress. I must say it is very pretty. Though it's very understated and simple, most of my satisfaction comes from Annie (I think that's her name). She was so willing to work with me and listen to what I had to say, and she was super friendly and informative. We chatted, which never really happens with me and whoever is working with me. It was nice. The overall service was good. People kept offering me complimentary drinks, which was unnecessary for me at the time, but still adds to a welcoming and casual environment. Also a side note, every additional thing that goes with the nails was an extra 15 dollars. If you want one rhinestone on each nail, that's 15 dollars times 10. You do the math. If you want multiple rhinestones on each nail, that's obviously more money. However, if you're like me and just want glitter, that's 15 dollars flat (for all the nails total). I therefore ended up spending 50 dollars plus tip. Yes, I showed up at the wedding with expensive nails. I also get to say "I got my nails done in Beverly Hills, woooohoo." But what do you care? If you live in Beverly Hills, or are even considering going here, you're already made of money. The luxury is all yours. I give this place a B+/A- along with 4 stars. I posted a similar review for Jade at her previous salon but I want to make sure the everyone knows what a "GEM" this woman is..... Jade is THE BEST stylist I have ever had...period. I have been going to Jade for over 3 years now and I get a fantastic cut every single time. Not only is she super sweet and a very cool chic, but she also really loves what she does and it shows. My hair is naturally really thick and long and she does the perfect long layered cut on me. I have also had two kids over the last few years and she has done amazing things with my hair while it was thin and brittle post-baby. She always creates the perfect combination of what I want with what is best to do with the hair I have. I have been through MANY stylists and spent years "correcting" hair cuts when I got home. I have been going to Jade since january and have been very impressed!! she makes me feel very comfortable and always gets me magazines, drinks, and listens to my questions. she does a honey blonde color very nice. a little difficult to get my hair a more platinum blonde, but in the end i like her color more than my original idea. and the keratin treatment is expensive but really is amazing!! i used to have sooo much frizz and had to straighten and style often to look decent. now i can finger dry or blowdry without product and it looks amazing with no frizz!!! if it was cheaper i would be even happier. but u pay for quality and jade is sooo sweet!! I just came today for my first haircut of the year, and left feeling pampered, refreshed, and renewed. And my new bob haircut is absolutely exquisite. Went to The Salon by Maxime for the first time today. It was a wonderful a experience. Everyone was really nice and not pretentious at all for being in Beverly Hills. It is always great to feel pampered once in awhile - they even brought me beverages (soda, tea, coffee, espresso). The place was very well lit and open. My fiancee was with me and they also treated him with great customer service. Maxime cut and styled my hair, and he was very good at knowing exactly what my hair needed, while not making my haircut too out of the ordinary. Heidi the colorist who also took her time with me. She along with her assistant Veronica were fun and very pleasant to work with. Then I got my manicure by Irene who was very nice and did a great job with hands. This was truly an awesome experience. I got "the works," which I highly recommend. I would be very happy to go there again. Around the corner on Brighton Street there is a garage that is free for the first 2 hours. But if you park on Rodeo it's only $2/hr at the meters and you may park next to the $1.7million Bugatti that belongs to the owner of the Bijan store, as I did. Cool. read more
