"OUR" TESTIMONY I really can't say enough about Alex and his team. I think the best testament to their 5 star rating would be the countless people I've referred to Alex, all of whom have returned to me expressing how impressed they were with both their hair and experience. In the end, most of these referrals have made this their home salon and the rest continue to go to him for special occasions or at least continue to recommend to others who might have a higher budget and want a guaranteed experience. I always preface my recommendations with the fact that you absolutely 100% get what you pay for. I usually do not recommend Alex to anyone who has to shop around for quick budget cuts (no judgment because I used to be in the same boat - everyone has different needs at different times... but keep reading!). HISTORY It started with a family member who has been going to Alex since he was with another salon nearly a decade ago. When Alex returned to Houston, she got the whole family hooked to him. As much as I wanted to jump on this Alex-bandwagon right away, I had to wait because I told myself that I wanted to commit to a stylist for every cut and color if I ever found THE one. Eventually the time came, and the rest is history... WHY Alex is hands-down the master of cut and color, especially color. I've heard great things about the rest of his team, but I've only experienced Alex. Between all my family members and friends who have had their hair color done by Alex, the variation is vast! From subtle, natural browns to extreme, vivid platinum greys, every outcome is absolutely flawless. I believe this also has a lot to do with Alex being a perfectionist, so he doesn't have the capacity to allow anyone to leave with less than perfect hair LOL. With that said, I feel that one major thing that sets him apart from other stylists/ artists is TIME. I believe that he is able to achieve the results he gets because he's actually putting in the time for it - and that goes both ways - you would have to be okay with spending a little more time in the chair than normal, especially if you're wanting a more complex job. (And if you do the math, this fact might make his rates comparable to others.) If you're antsy, feel free to bring reading material and snacks. He's not one of those stylists who's shooting for quantity over quantity. You're not going to walk into a salon packed with people and an overcrowded waiting room. He never overbooks and he makes sure to allot an appropriate amount of time for your needs. Another unique quality of Alex that I have never noticed in any other stylist/ artist in my life is HONESTY- to both his client and himself. For example, if you are requesting something that is highly unachievable (I'm talking to the Asian girls demanding Selena Gomez's hair lol), Alex will never pretend he can make the impossible happen. I mean, don't get me wrong, our friends calls him the Miracle Worker for a reason LOL. But he will never trick you out of your money. It's important to also note that he will continue to work with you to find something that will make everyone happy. He will even let you know if he thinks a different shade might work better for you... and sure enough, it does! It has gotten to the point where my sisters and I just go in and tell him to do whatever LOL. He's said it himself - his goal is to build relationships with his clients and give them memorable experiences they can't find anywhere else. I honestly think this reason alone (well, along with damn good hair lol) has guaranteed me as a client for life! If you're still on the fence, just go once to see for yourself. If my 10+ family/ friends had nothing but good things to say about Alex and his team, then I am willing to bet you will, too!! read more

My hubby and I passed by this salon all the time while dining out and always noticed how late they opened and we thought to ourselves, " wow, these people work hard" ! The salon very modern and super clean. So, I took a leap of faith and decided to give them a try and I am so glad I did. I decided to book an appointment with Harvy because I have seen great review on his work when he was working at another salon. I must say, Harvy and his assistant, Olivia exceeded my expectations. They were very nice, detailed oriented, professional, and consultative, which I really appreciate. I don't know what i don't know but they both ensure i was well informed. Both let me know every step of the way on what they are doing and explained the why behind it. I came in wanting ash blonde but my hair was so damaged from previous bleaching, they consulted me on what their professional opinion in order to protect my hair and give me the realistic results. I decided to get my hair done for graduation pictures and couldn't be happier with the quality of care, attention to detail, and amazing service at Salon Per Se! Jamie and Quan worked together to turn my year-grown-out, lightly dyed hair into a beautiful natural balayage with long layers. This was my first experience at such a nice salon and getting balayage, and I can't be happier with the results. It was quite pricey and took a bit longer than expected, but they were so attentive and made sure I was comfortable the entire time (also a complimentary stocked snack bar!). I just got back from a 10 hour long appointment with King (with help from Eason) and my hair looks amazing. My hair was brown with a slight blonde balayage, and I asked for a beige blonde all over color and King explained the process and pricing beforehand. King was so patient and focused the entire time. He even went to pick up lunch and a drink for me halfway through the session! We were able to achieve the color I wanted with minimal breakage. This is my first time ever going to a salon to get my hair professionally done & I must say, I am beyond pleased! I was there for literally 10 hours & by the end of the day, the salon felt like home! They tried their very best to make me feel comfortable & companied. I had ordered food from the restaurant next door & Eason offered to go pick it up for me. Would not be coming back. A worker told me that before cutting my hair they will be washing my hair, in which I declined because I have already washed my hair a couple hours prior and I have blonde hair so I didn't to wash more of the silver out. They did not use purple shampoo either leaving my hair extremely brassy. After, I sat down for a haircut and requested layers, I even showed reference pictures of what I wanted. The hairstylist told me it was fine but ultimately did not give me a single layer. All he did was thin my hair out and trimmed off some dead ends. I ended up paying 70 dollars for this experience. It was a 12+ hour process to go from dark brown hair to a lovely silver grey color, but that's the price you pay for gorgeous healthy hair. King and Jackson are angels. They made me feel comfortable during the entire process, which included giving me pillows to rest my arms while I streamed my favorite shows to feeding me.
