I was so excited to get my first fringe here, because their pictures on here were just what i was looking for and for what seemed to be the right price! The reviews are great and I was super pumped, but considering it's a holiday today...I called just to make sure they were open! I couldn't even get a confirmation on their hours....their HOURS!!! I was passed onto 3 ladies and by the end I was screaming "HOURS! I CALLED TO CONFIRM YOUR HOURS FOR TODAY!!! HOURS!!!!" I didn't even make it out of my house and I'm already unsatisfied. I don't feel confident in going to a place that can't even understand simple questions. read more

Just got my hair done by Quyen again earlier this week and I am loving the result. I've tried a couple of other hair stylists that are supposedly well known and even though I walked away with a great haircut but it just didn't look good long after. Quyen on the other has the talent to give me a cut that looks good when I walk out of her salon but most importantly one that I can maintain and still look good many months after. When I go to her, my main concern is a good style that requires minimal maintenance. I am usually on the run and don't have time to fuss with my hair. Some tips: Prices - I like to know how much I need to pay for a service beforehand so if you're like me, just ask her before booking an appointment. Prices here are the best I've found and even if there are cheaper places, I wouldn't trust the quality. I have not found anyone who offer a better price for a great cut and perm that would last me at least a year. Products - I often ask for her product recommendations. She sells products at her salon so be sure to ask if you need anything or have questions. I have a feeling she doesn't offer to sell verbally to avoid the appearance of being pushy and pushing her products. That's one thing I like about her. Appointment - The one thing that frustrates me is long waiting time. I think Quyen is one of a few Vietnamese businesses that manages time well. If I make an appointment with her and show up on time, I usually don't have to wait longer than 5-10 minutes. Usually 5 or less. When she's busy, another hair stylist might give her a hand with small tasks. The stylist that was there last week was really nice, too. Even though she's not the chatty type, I was happy she was diligent and focused on my hair. Updo - Get an occasional updo for events. Do I love to spend extra money? No. But!! It's totally worth it. I love getting my hair done up for events by Quyen. Always turned out super nice. Classy but still on trend. Even if I wear a nice outfit, it's the hair that polishes and completes a look. read more

Quyen did major color correction for me and was super nice & patient! She took her time color correcting and perfecting this balayage! After a five hour session I can finally wear my hair down with confidence. Will be coming back! read more

My sister in law highly recommend this place because of Quinn. I have to admit I was a little nervous at first because I was so used to another guy doing my hair but he was all booked for 3 months. But my sister in laws hair looks great so I knew I just had to trust her. And I was very pleased! Quinn is a perfectionist and has a great sense of what you want. She is very passionate about what she does and was very upfront about what was about to happen to my hair. She gave me options and I'm so glad she told me about the oliplex hair treatment to keep my hair from breaking after the balayage....I can totally tell it made a difference compared to the first two times I've had balayage done at another place. They actually care about your hair especially if you are trying to go for a color. I know some places will work on your hair if it's damage but this place will give you advice on whether you should do it or not. They aren't here to just try to take your money! read more

I was looking to get my hair balayaged somewhere in the OC and I found this place on yelp and I am so glad I did!! I had some brassiness in my hair and a lot of split ends and I was able to get my hair dyed and cut and i couldnt be more in love with it!! So glad I used yelp to pick a salon! My Yelp review is so overdue for this salon!! I have been coming here for a couple years now and I haven't had any desire to go to any other salon since. Quyen is the absolute best. She's so genuine and nice. I feel so horrible I am always late to her appointments but she is still so happy to see me when I come. If your hair is damaged and dry Quyen will telll you and not do your hair. She's that honest. Most salons will just want your money and damage it more. She's so amazing at what she does. My first visit here was about 1 week ago! I got there at around 6:30-40ish... due to the fact I had trouble finding it. After I got there, Alice greeted me and was super nice the whole time! I just needed a haircut since my hair was super long, thick, and damaged. She did a wonderful job, & im loving the length of my new hair. :) I walked out at 7:45 which I felt a little bad doing, but regardless of the time, she took her time & wasn't rushing anything. I specifically was looking for a place to do an Updo for a wedding I was attending on Friday. I called and spoke to Chi Quyen (the owner) to see if she could do my hair on Friday. She was completely booked but managed to get another stylist (Chi Thu) to do my hair on short notice! I came 15 minutes before my appointment at 10:00 on Friday and Chi Quyen was already doing an Updo, had another client waiting for a haircut and another one for eyelash extension. She accomplished to get her clients taken care off. She has great customer service and is very warming. She was apologetic and said that my stylist was coming in soon. Chi Thu did my Updo in 30 minutes flat. Her work is incredible and I was so impressed with the outcome. It came out even better than the picture I showed her. This place deserves the recognition on YELP!!! They have a multitude of services and the place is extremely clean. I will be coming back here for other services!! First time here! After so long of not getting my hair done, I decided it was time for a change. I started to yelp around the area and found this gem! I will say after a long time of not having a stylist, I was a bit nervous but was open minded and plus her reviews are great and the pictures definitely show that she does a good job. I've been coming to Salon Q for 6 months now and find myself coming back every 5 weeks for color and cut. The hairdressers exceed my expectations every time. This last visit Tiffany got rid of the grey...which by the way they thoroughly get rid of ALL the grey and an awesome trim. I've gone through a handful of stylists, and I've been fairly satisfied with most of them. I've never been completely happy with the result though; there was always something "off," albeit minor. Tail too pointy. Bangs didn't look right. Quyen, however, is the best among all of them. From a couple of questions, she cut my hair perfectly. I was surprised the style turned out so nice! It was as if she knew what would look good on me even when I didn't. I am so grateful for her. She's going to be my stylist as long as she's here in Westminster. The salon is clean, neat. I've been getting my hair cut with Quyen for years but this time I decided to dye my hair. I wanted a silver ombré and she suggested I should take the silver up higher so when my hair grows out the silver wouldn't be too low, so that was really nice to know. Quyen was busy that day but I trusted her staff. Other 2 workers bleached and dyed my hair, they were really nice as well! The results were what I wanted and I'm very happy I'm in love with my new hair!! Quyen also told what shampoo to buy and what treatments I should use! I ask my nail lady who she recommended to die and cut hair and she said go to Sharprcut in 2008. I went there and it is two beautiful sisters that are fabulous hair dressers, Celine and Hailey. I have red hair and Celine colors it just the shade I love and cuts and styles my hair so beautiful. Hailey does the same for me when Celine is on vacation. Yeeesssss!!!! I found this place on yelp and I only wanted a haircut but I still wanted it done by a salon and not by like a Supercuts or a Great Clips so I decided to try this place. The lady that did my hair was very nice, unfortunately I forgot to ask her her name before I left but she knew exactly what I wanted and she was definitely a perfectionist which even made her more amazing. $25 for a haircut with a shampoo and blow dry is a great deal! Update: I received a text and reply to this message where there is still no empathy and she is not taking responsibility at all. I was sitting right next to my aunt when she messaged her (we live together) and we both understood the same thing. My aunt has been going to her for even longer. She was reading the responses, and I was telling her what to text given my schedule that's also very busy (you're not the only one that's why we were specific when scheduling). Clearly the miscommunication is elsewhere, and I am more than happy to upload screenshots of the messages to prove it, should there be any doubt. BOTTOM LINE IS, in this country the customer is always right. To make it more clear, even if the customer is wrong (I wasn't) business owners usually try their best to appease a customer, especially a loyal one. Honestly, like I mentioned I would not have been upset if the owner tried at all to correct the situation (rather than blaming me) instead of the poor service and attitude I received. Very disappointed. I actually started this review a few months back after incident # 1 but decided not to finish it because I wanted to give Quyen the benefit of the doubt. However, after a similar incident happened again, I had to do something. It's a long review but it will save you time in the future. Must read. Incident 1: agreed via text of an appointment date and time. I showed up, and no one even turned to look at me for the first 5 minutes. After I said hi, the owner stared at me for a good 2 minutes and asked, "what are you doing here? Your appointment is for next monday" RUDE! Considering I had been a customer, and referred 3 others I thought I deserved at least decent treatment. She did not offer to reschedule or try to fit me into her schedule and simply brushed me off. I was so furious, I sat in my car for a good 20 minutes deciding whether or not to go back in and say something. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt, it could have been a simple miscommunication. However, I should never have excused the rude behavior and lack of interest in a loyal customer. Not a miscommunication issue when it happens AGAIN. Quyen is very busy and I booked an appointment 2 weeks in advance. Given the previous mishap, the second appointment was confirmed a week in advance (today). This time the story was a little different... Apparently when she offered an appointment at 11:30 on 8/3 and the reply was "ok" it "was not specific" and she didn't know I wanted to come in and was now completely booked on that day. Again, she showed no interest to try and correct HER mistake (I say hers cause it happened 2x) and honestly if she showed some empathy/interest/care for the mistake I would not be as upset. Again, it's my fault for not being specific and she's busy so she could care less if she loses a customer. Lastly, although her work is okay, the only reason I gave her a second chance was because her prices are a little cheaper. You can get the same quality or better somewhere else for $20 more SO WORTH IT!!!!!! read more

walked in on a Sunday an hour and 15min before closing. right off the bat a lady walked up to us and asked what we needed. my sister in law showed the picture that was posted on their yelp page. she looked at the picture and just laughed. she walked over to her other two coworkers and showed the picture while still giggling.. turned to us and bluntly said 30min wait. first off RUDE RUDE RUDE for laughing in front of my sister in laws face. i couldn't stand for her unprofessional attitude so we walked out. shame on you... The reason I had my haircut was I had my hair loss a lot after some months delivery my baby and my hair is not thick at all. She sent another lady to cut my hair. This review is solely for my haircut experience I had yesterday. I came in needing a short trim on my hair and was somewhat devastated by the outcome. I had medium hair thats below my breast and I only wanted to get 2-3 inches off so that my hair would be below my shoulders. The lady who cut my hair wasn't the store owner but she was really nice. After showing her what I wanted, she cut the left side and asked if the length was okay, I said yes but when she went to cut off the right side, she cut off about 5 inches of my hair and it was above my shoulders. The minute she realized she messed up, she immediately apologized. Fortunately, I enjoy having short hair but I did not want it THAT SHORT and the worse part of it all was that she kept going shorter to even it out. She never once ask which way I parted my hair and just assumed my hair was parted in the middle so now it looks sort of weird when I have to part my hair. Got charged $25 even though she knew she messed up. If she wasn't so nice, I would've gave this place a 1 star. read more
