Finally found a satisfactory kids salon. Salon Red Kids is dedicated to kids. They have a fun gift shop at the entrance. The check in desk is also the check out counter. There are 4 chairs in the back shaped like an airplane, pink car, police car and truck. Since they only do kids cuts they understood what we wanted. Cuts for 0-6 is $20 (worth it) and goes up from there. They spent about 20 unrushed minutes and seemed to genuinely care that the cut looked good. They would've gotten 5 stars if the bangs came out even, but I'm guessing this is super hard to do since nobody's gotten it right yet. We'll be back and we'll keep trying. read more

Becca fixed my hair and my life haha. She made my hair look like the photos I showed her. Our communication was on point. She asked me what I wanted and reassured me she understood my needs. I've been going to Salon Red since August 2016 after getting a bad dye job at another local salon. My stylist Ari has done a fabulous job lightening my hair with each visit. She has a good understanding of tone and color. The prices at Salon Red are reasonable and it is easy to make an appointment online or by calling. They are open on Sundays too--- a huge plus! Tip: Parking in the Town Brookhaven complex can get full on the weekends, so if you have an appointment on Saturday or Sunday, plan a little extra time to find a spot to park. read more

I normally don't get creative with my hair, I like things plain and simple but recently decided I wanted to jazz it up a little with Balayage and a hair cut. She happened to mention that she had a client who wanted her haircolor tweaked frequently, and she didn't mind making the many changes. I happened to have a teenage daughter who'd been experimenting with her haircolor so much that she had three distinct shades going on at once. I took her to Sara at Salon Red Brookhaven, with hair that was part dark-brown, part light blonde, and part red-blonde. Sara totally fixed it! Now my daughter has beautiful light-brown hair with subtle blonde streaks, and you can't tell ANY difference along the hair strands. I think she is a color miracle-worker. Both of my daughters also have had great haircuts at the salon, including my 10 year old daughter who has the head of hair of a 20 year old and is not suitable for a kids salon. My daughter's stylist recently left and I called today to make an appointment with one of the other stylists recommended to me in an email from the corporate office. According to the receptionist, none of those stylists are willing to cut my daughter's hair despite her history with the salon. Oh well, time to move me and my daughters to a new salon. read more

Holy worst haircut EVER. Dave seriously ruined my hair. I used to go to Jodi at Salon Red in Decatur but she quit and I thought I would try the new Salon Red because it was closer to my house. I asked who the resident short hair expert was and was told to make an appointment with Dave. I found out half way through the cut, which seemed to be going terribly wrong, that he never does short hair and is the expert at long layers....he also mentioned that he never likes his short cuts. I can see why. He was also pretty bad at washing my hair. Terrible, bad, no good, absolutely awful, choppy mess of a haircut. I cried in the car. Also, this Salon Red is not hip like the one in Decatur. Bad music, un-hip stylists, loads of old people. Not the same at all. Sorry to the owners and stylists...but I had a pretty bad experience. This is a lovely salon with lovely people working there. It is very close to my home, and while it is not cheap, I am okay with spending this much on cuts and color. Because of these things, I worked really, really hard to like it. In the end, though, I am just not happy with my hair when I leave. I've tried many different stylists, and for all of them I've had to go back a few days later to fix a cut. (Which they always did very kindly - again, they are super nice, I just don't have time to have to go back to fix every cut.) I recently had a bad experience with color, too, which I think came down to a difference of opinion between the stylist and me (she prefers ashy for my complexion, I prefer gold). I've tried bringing pictures, etc, but it's just not working out. It might be a poor style fit for me - I tend for something a little more fun/funky than the more classic cuts typically sported in Buckhead. She did an awesome job - one of the best haircuts I think I have ever gotten, seriously! She cut it in a way that it curls great and also showed me how I could style it at home. Was looking for a new hair salon and after reading the yelp reviews, I decided to give Salon Red in Brookhaven a try. When I made the appointment, I let them pick a stylist for me as I was new to the salon. Now, I completely regret this decision. I informed the stylist I simply wanted the ends of my hair trimmed as I usually get my hair trimmed about every 8-9 weeks, however she cut off about four inches, cut in short layers and after washing and drying today I now see my hair is completely uneven in the back. I thought it looked shorter as I was leaving the salon, but she had also put in tons of product so it was hard to tell. I would not recommend this salon to others and would ask that they listen better to their customers. read more

I have finicky hair when it comes to color and have had some terrible results from high-end salons. I recently visited Alyssa (aka Melissa Jones Corley) at the Brookhaven location and could not have been happier with the result. So many times it feels like hairstylists turn chairs as restaurants turn tables-trying to get the maximum amount of people in with the minimum amount of service, but that was not the case with Alyssa. She spent almost three hours to make sure my partial highlight service was perfect, balyaging and then performing a color blend for a natural effect. She has a lifelong customer in me! read more

I went to Alyssa to lift my color to white. I paid an extra $30 for a sealant to protect my hair. She said she added a toner but no. So my hair was a lemon lime. I went to Alexandar's today and after an impressive haircut by Vladamir, Alexandar's brother, the two conferred and a 5 minute mid-violet toner took out the yellow lime and my hair NOW is meeting my vision. Don't go there. Go to Alexandar's and book with Vlada or Alex. The salon and the hair artists are unprecedented. read more

I have been to Salon Red three times or so and had a great experience each time. Richard has been doing my color for over six years and he is a color genius! I had to move three hours away from the Atlanta area, and I still make the drive up just so that he can continue coloring my hair.
