Came here after dinner one night for dessert. Staff was friendly. Maybe it was the end of the night but the store wasn't exactly clean. Tables and floor had crumbs everywhere. If you come in a large group you might have trouble getting a table to sit in. The desserts were beautiful. We order a couple of items to try and thought they were delicious. Not overly sweet. Very fresh fruit flavors. The small cakes were the perfect size.

Salswee is a solid dessert shop in NYC that lived up to the hype for us! I've been to Salswee twice now and thought it was consistent through both visits. I originally saw them on several IG and TT videos with desserts that resembled fruits. [[HIGHLIGHT]]In terms of the store itself, the desserts are up front and to the right of you in display cases as you make your way to the cashier.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The line is always pretty quick moving and easy to order and the pricing is also not too bad. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The cafe itself is modern and includes some other options like pastries and coffee (unfortunately haven't tried those).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've ordered the banana, yuzu, and mango. The mango was delightful as well as the banana. Love how the desserts aren't overly sweet and layered as well as decorative. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are some tables/seats inside although it can get pretty busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ended up taking the desserts to go and eating it at the park across the street. Overall, think Salswee is well worth a look. Was one of our favorite dessert spots in town.

I feel like I bought a truly ridiculous amount of petit gateaus here to try out and share with friends and we wound up enjoying most of them, some enough to buy twice. Went to the Flatiron store both times and didn't have to wait long to order. The staff were great and packed all of the little cakes nicely so that they survived the trek back to our condo. Mango--all around favorite, wound up buying like 4 of these cause half my friends preferred it and I liked it a surprising amount Blueberry--very mild, no tartness, not too sweet with good blueberry flavor Orange--fresh and orangey in the middle, loved this one Pear--reminds me of cinnamon apples (I guess this was cinnamon pears), which isn't my favorite flavor but others enjoyed Banana--made me sad cause I LOVE banana flavored stuff and this just... wasn't? It had old tasting banana paste in the middle assuming because it's real banana and not artificial, is tiny, and didn't taste good Yuzu--nice yuzu flavor and disappeared fast Cloud--forgot the actual name and apparently didn't take a picture, it had chocolate/hazelnut mousse with some sort of caramel and something crunchy, also delicious All of the petit gateaus were on the mild side which is a big plus for me. Appearance was top notch and the balance of cream to filling on point. I'd like to try some of the other pastries next time for sure.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]A very quaint dessert cafe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Lots of options, but I've been wanting to try these fruit trompe l'oeil's for a while. The service was fast and super kind. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There isn't that much seating, but it worked out for my group.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got the mango and the yuzu. The mango was devine, and the yuzu was just okay. Even though I thought the yuzu was mid, the mango + service was heavenly enough for 5 stars.

This is my third time going and I have to say I finally got the right desert the third time. Shared pics from all 3. Hands down the best thing to try is the mango (so flavorful and some parts feel cold like ice cream) and I also really liked the pistachio. Cloud is safe, Not too sweet and it's soft mousse. Yuzu (the flower dessert) had a hard rice cake under it which I was not a fan on. Everytime I have gone, the lien move pretty fast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seating is whatever table you can find. The concept is really cool and all the pastries are beautiful, but I didn't feel that anything stood out as something I'd come back for. Out of all the ones we tried I liked the cloud best. It was a chocolate hazelnut combo that worked really well. Everything else was fine, and it's on the pricey side.

This place has some really gorgeous and creative desserts! We enjoyed the mango mousse (beautiful with a hard exterior you crack into) and the yuzu dessert. I wasn't a huge fan of the strawberry shortcake only bc of the strawberry jelly inside but my husband enjoyed it. Definitely want to return to try some of the others!

Salswee has one of the best takes on these fruit-shaped desserts I have tried. A lot of places are doing similar concepts now, but this is the one that really stands out. The execution is just better across the board. I have tried the mushroom, orange, mango, and banana, and the orange and mango were easily my favorites. The orange had this creamsicle-like filling that felt really nostalgic, and the mango was just straight mango done right. If you are looking for a unique sweet treat, this place is worth the trip. I have heard their savory options are great too, so that is next on my list.

The offerings here at Salswee are such a delight! These French style treats called tompe-l'œil ("deceive the eye" in English), are not only a marvel to see but also a pleasure to taste. After struggling for some time to pick my order (the selections looked all too good), I settled on getting the yuzu-flavored dessert. Crafted as a white flower perched on a meringue pouffe and a rice crispy base, the interior was soft, delicate, and sweet, with a nice sharp tang from the citrus coulis. I could have easily scarfed down another one of those. I also tried this item called "the cloud" made with chocolate mousse. It was wonderfully delicate as well, although I didn't like this as much, as I'm not a big fan of rich chocolate desserts. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my order, so much so that I'm already dreaming about what I would try here next. The pear dessert does look tempting!

Desserts look phenomenal and so do the pastries and bakery items no doubt! Taste may be more like a 6-8/10 If you want amazing aesthetics and photo ops in your food, this is your place The desserts themselves are fine I'd rate them between 6-8/10. The mango is a solid 10. Banana orange and passion fruit all were 6-8 range. There are other similar dessert spots in the city so the line here becomes restrictive I did like the pistachio and strawberry croissants a lot as well. They're gigantic Coffees are on their Menu too [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's never any place to sit inside unless you're willing to play hunger games and there's always a line on the weekend so everything put together I don't seek it out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If I want to gift people though I buy from here cos it looks amazing They often run out of the mango and orange and banana by mid day though so go early

The drinks are good but they should all consider offering hot tea and iced tea. I enjoyed the iced matcha latte I ordered, but was surprised that they don't have any non-sugar sweetener. They only offer brown sugar! I understand they're a cake store so they may assume all their patrons are okay with sugar, but offering non-sugar sweetener doesn't take much. Many people don't want to add additional sugar to their coffee and tea even when they enjoy a piece of cake.

Super cute inside. Decent amount of seating. Honestly the cakes are not that expensive they're kind of small though. We got two of the black sesame oatmeal cakes. They were well packaged. Cake itself was good I really liked the sponge and the black sesame cream. The oatmeal inside added an interesting taste but I'm not sure I liked the texture addition. Tasted pretty cereally. The crunchies on top were good though!

Finally got to stop by the other day and pretty satisfied overall. Food: The black sesame latte was pretty decent. It came unsweetened. If I had it on its own I would have added some sweetener, but it would be too much sugar with the desserts. Speaking of desserts the Cloud was my favorite. It's like eating a Baci Perugina or Kinder bueno mousse cake. I would come back just for that alone. I like it so much it put everything else we ordered to shame. The Mango my friend ordered was decent. I'm not sure what kind of mango they used or how they processed it, but it didn't taste like the sweet Filipino mangos that I'm used to. The mango rice pudding cake was underwhelming. Once again it didn't taste like Filipino mangos and the rice pudding wasn't that flavorful. I would have preferred to taste something like cinnamon and/or coconut. Maybe it just didn't stand a chance to the more flavorful Cloud and Mango. To take home I got the Ferrero cake. Unfortunately it didn't taste much like a Ferrero Rocher. I'll stick with the Cloud for that chocolate hazelnut flavor. The salmon croissantwich was pretty good. The croissant was light, flaky, and delicious. I liked the crispy crust that gave it the structure to hold up as a sandwich. I would like to come back to try their other offerings such as their matcha and passionfruit pastries. read more

Was excited to try their fruit desserts but was disappointed to find empty display cases around noon. I tried the matcha croissant instead, which was stale and came with a huge block of very sweet matcha butter. Tasted odd and felt gimmicky. The sesame latte was bland and not worth the long wait for drinks. This place is very picturesque but lacks in real quality and service. read more

This spot had such potential and it seemed like service was great when we came opening weekend while the owner or manager was there, but things have gone downhill quickly. When we walked in this morning, we had to wait several minutes before anyone told the person in front of us that you order at the register, even though we made repeat eye contact with one of the workers that was just standing against the wall literally not doing anything the entire time. Having to order at the register also doesn't make sense operationally especially if it's a big order because the whole point of glass display is to allow the customer to point at what they want while they're ordering. It's like the people who manage and work at this place have never been to a bakery before, literally so baffling. Also when the guy in front of us asked to be able to bring the box to the display instead of ordering at the register, the lady who was helping him was giving major attitude, which is also confusing because that's literally your job to help him. Biiig opportunity for staff retraining yikes Another confusing thing was that at 9:30am, their signature flatiron croissants weren't out yet, and this is 2.5 hours after they open. That's insane. That being said, they brought it out after we asked if they had them in the back, but I would recommend against getting it. Honestly seems more geared towards growing ig hype, it was overbaked and super dry, 0/10. Their mushroom suisse was pretty good but wish they could toast it because the filling was cold. Their cakes are cute, but otherwise I don't think there's anything I would come back for. Coffee was also underwhelming, their lattes are brewed too hot, and the menu selection is also lacking. We really wanted to like this place but until they fix these operational and service issues, I wouldn't come back. read more

3 word description: innovative, adorable, popular details: I visited salswee at around 3pm and there was a line out the door! thankfully, the line moved quickly but there was also a lot of people sitting inside too. lots of items were sold out. however, i felt that there was still a large assortment baked goods. i got the mushroom and it was creamy and not too sweet at all. all seats were taken and the chatter was cheery. this seems like a great place to grab a coffee + snack and do some work (as long as you can get a seat). i would love to return to try some of the sold out items. read more

While this bakery opens at 7 am, do not come before 10:30 am if you want their cakes. Pre-ordered is not an option. Pear: best item ; recommend Mango: good ; recommend Cloud (Hazelnut): not bad ; don't recommend Yuzu: not bad ; debatable Coconut: good ; recommend Passion Fruit: underwhelming ; avoid Matcha: strange; avoid Croissants: disappointing and don't recommend Truffle: avoid Hot dog : avoid Pineapple and mango Tartlet: avoid This place is worth a one-time visit for the pear and mango. The dedication it takes to make such scrumptious desserts ! I'm giving this 5 stars for the mango alone, I wanted to try more but wasn't hungry and now I am sitting here typing this while I wish I could get more ! wait this actually lived up to the hype. like wow i felt like such a tourist going in. but wowie was it worth it. i'm actually such a sucker for good looking bakery goods. like okay that's an apple fr. but omg you split it open and it's actually NOT??!??! anyways the line was LONGGG and but it moved pretty quickly but still gave us enough time to decide what to order. we were being so big backed so we ordered three and there was only two of us LOL. i knew i wanted the apple for sure. so we got that. and then we got the pear because i wanted to see what the inside tasted like since there was real pear inside. we also got the passionfruit coconut one solely because it looked so weird. but yeah we got lucky and after we ordered and paid someone left so we got seating when everyone else was standing. i liked the pear better than the apple tbh. the passionfruit one was the worst cuz it just tasted like passionfruit puree like where is the love?? where is the passion? haha. but wow did we take tf out of these pastries. we took so many photos i felt like it was gonna turn camera shy on us and run away. we each gave each other the honors of cutting one and wow it was so satisfying. wow i actually am a sucker for pretty pastries. but yes this was a good experience. and EVEN THOUGH I WOULD SAY IT WAS OVERPRICED like it's so unique and such an interesting concept that i think the price is justified. but if it tasted trash i would have said overpriced! uhhh we literally devoured everything in the span of like 20 minutes so wow! we walked around a lot more and then eventually went back. but yayyyy i'm so happy i got to try this place and it actually did live up to my expectations. i love pretty food sm. 5 stars! read more

The ordering is pretty efficient, but the baristas were backed up so there was a bit of a wait for drinks. The jasmine latte was with coffee which was unexpected and kinda weird although the jasmine came through. The sesame latte was also just coffee with sesame on top. The regular coffee drinks, and the drip coffee are probably the way to go. Would definitely want to try their basque cheesecake and croissants. I got the yuzu and the matcha almond bun. The bun was good, and the guava compote and vanilla mousse in the Yuzu were flavorful and smooth, but the bottom layer was hard.. read more

Super cute new French-Asian inspired cafe! They have very unique pastries and hyper realistic desserts. We got the Yuzu to share and I tried the Black Truffle Suisse -- would highly recommend the Yuzu! Prices are a bit steep and I would say this place is a bit overhyped, but overall glad that I visited. read more

Such a cute bakery, things sell out fast, I had to try a second time to get there on a day where they still had their fruit shaped pastries. The pear one was so good, rich in pear flavor, a nice light dessert that isn't too sweet. The banana was okay, light chocolate banana cream filling inside. Not too sweet, too much banana flavor, wish it was more balanced with the chocolate. read more

The pastries are stunning but absolutely lacking in any type of flavor. The mango rice pudding cake was absolutely bland. The entire cake is covered in whipped cream and there was no flavor at all. I would not repurchase. read more

Food: 5 / 5 They have beautifully designed cakes and croissants! each pastry is pure art! The small shaped cakes range from $10 to $12. Full size cakes range from $18.99 - $46.99. It's is a pricey range but i think it is worth trying it as they have so many interesting and beautiful cakes. Items ordered: Matcha Croissant($7.95) Croissant filled with matcha cream and topped with matcha white chocolate and dusted with matcha powder. The croissant has a nice flakiness and puffiness. It has a nice buttery taste blend with matcha cream. Orange ($10.95) It has a nice refreshing orange filling with good cream. The Sweetness from the white chocolate shell and the refreshing orange puree filling was definitely made it my favorite dessert among the items I tried Yuzu ($9.95) It has beautiful flower shaped cream on top of the cake . The soft and creamy mousse and crispy rice cracker on the bottom creates a nice texture together. It has nice yuzu flavor but not overpowering. overall it was refreshing dessert with a good amount of sweetness. Mushroom ($11.95) It has a cute mushroom shape. it has mousse cream shaped mushroom head and the stem is made out of white chocolate. inside of the stem, it is filled with strawberry puree. It is definitely sweeter than the rest of the desserts I tried here but it's a very creative and eye catching cake. Service: 4 / 5 The seating is quite limited so sometimes people need to hold their plates and need to stand until seating is available. The staffs were knowledgeable about desserts and friendly. Really friendly staff, imaginatively cute cakes and variety of croissant types on the menu. I enjoyed especially their coffee to highlight the morning. Barista was very swift, knew the perfect temperature to serve my Americano, balancing acidity and earthy flavor of the coffee beans in the most soothing way. I appreciated the barista on my way out! Popped into Salswee a few weeks ago as I live in the area. Nicely designed cafe (my inner real estate nerd loves custom millwork) with tons of delicious looking pastries. I got one of their iced lattes, which was pretty tasty. Will have to return for a pastry! read more

The croissants were disappointing, a bit too chewy and stale-tasting? We got the flatiron as well as an almond croissant. The flatiron was not crispy like it looked and didn't have great flavor. The almond was better, but still not worth the price, there's much better options available elsewhere. Btw... there are so many fake reviews for this business! read more

TikTok blew this place up. Sure, its good - but totally not worth the super long waits. They sell out of the most popular items fast so don't expect to get what you came for. They don't tell you while you are waiting what is left. They simply say, "you should have come earlier." Tons ot tasty desserts in they city. This is hype. Like Laudree was when it first came to NYC. Wait until the buzz dies down. read more

This place is one of my favorite cake / bakery shop in Flatiron. SALSWEE is a French Korean bakery and they have so many varied of pastries and cakes. For pastries, they have both savory and sweet ones, and my favorite is their mushroom truffle pastry. It's like a pie crust and has mushroom truffle cream inside which tastes amazing! For cakes, I love their Mont Blanc cake. They don't have this as personal size but the whole cake is not so big. I had it as my birthday cake and shared with my family. Their Mont Blanc is very rich. Since I'm a chestnuts lover, I loved how I could taste the rich chestnuts flavor and had chestnuts pieces inside. They also have black sesame cake which I want to try next time, and they also have so many cute cakes. The prices are around $6-9 for pastries and $15-20 for cakes. It's little pricy but worth it! If you haven't tried this place yet, you should definitely try! This place gets pretty crowded so I recommend you to visit in the morning time. read more

Food: This bakery offers a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts. Everything is made beautifully, and the presentation is perfect. We tried three different cakes - the cheesecake, black sesame cake, and mont blanc (chestnut filling). The mont blanc and cheesecake were delicious; I would highly recommend them. The black sesame cake had oatmeal in the filling, and the combination seemed a bit off. I wouldn't get that cake again. I am excited to return to this bakery to try their other desserts and pastries! Service: Staff are friendly and welcoming. Ambiance: The bakery has a lot of little tables for seating, and the tables are always filled. Seating is comfortable, but the tables and chairs are very close together. The bakery is kept clean and just a nice place to enjoy your baked goods. My friend and I visited Salswee around 6 pm on a Saturday, and unfortunately, most of the desserts were already sold out. We managed to try the banana and mango desserts. Both desserts were beautifully presented and incredibly realistic, with the mango dessert standing out as the highlight--it was absolutely delicious. The banana dessert, however, was just okay and didn't quite meet our expectations. As for the drinks, we tried the sesame latte and the blue coconut. Unfortunately, both were a disappointment. They tasted very watered down and lacked flavor, especially considering the high price. Overall, while the ambiance was nice and the desserts were visually stunning, the drinks and limited selection left much to be desired. read more

This French-Asian pastry shop, located in the Flatiron District, offers some of the most impressively realistic fruit desserts. The level of craftsmanship is exceptional, and the time and skill required to create each piece are truly remarkable. Due to our eagerness to enjoy the pastries, I unfortunately missed the opportunity to photograph the pear and mango varieties, which are among my favorites. The interior features a rich cream filling or fruit compote, depending on the specific pastry. The staff are friendly, and although the shop is somewhat narrow, seating is available and comfortable. I highly recommend visiting this establishment; it is a unique experience that is worth exploring. read more

I highly recommend checking out this bakery! Their unique fruit creations are the star of the show. The chocolate and cream are top-notch, and the selection is fantastic - you're sure to find something you love. They also have cold brew coffee on the menu, which caught my eye (it was a new presentation style for me). The staff was friendly and the place was spotless. They offer complimentary water, which is a nice touch. Keep in mind that seating is limited and first-come, first-served. I didn't notice a restroom during my visit. read more

The presentation of their cakes is impressive, but unfortunately, the taste doesn't match the appearance. The aftertaste was noticeably greasy, and the texture felt processed, almost like store-bought bread. It's possible they use inexpensive ingredients, which really impacts the overall quality.
