Avoid this place at all cost if you can. That was disappointing. Got lox Benedict, they had two slices of lox, so we asked for slightly more lox. The extra lox were $4 on top of the $21 for the dish, but of course that was never clarified. Upon us calling it out the waiter removed the charges so we gave him the difference. It's not about the price but about the quality of the food and the over the top nickle and diming. We were in Tiburon for a long weekend and had two dinners and a breakfast at Salt and Pepper. My husband and I both had the salmon the first dinner and it was delicious. The next dinner my husband went for the salmon again and I had the paella. All again were delicious meals. For breakfast I had the Mexican omelette. I did not care for the tomato topping and scrapped it off. The tomatoes tasted too much like canned and was not salsa which I would like. My husband had the salmon omelette and it was very good. At last! A local restaurant with several vegan options for brunch. Today I had a tofu salad with a lot of fresh and tasty veggies and nuts and it was delicious. Next time I will try their tofu scramble and perhaps the buckwheat pancakes with lingonberries (if they are egg free). You can see Salami, celery, potato and lots of irrelevant vegetables are full of it. Besides that, our mean server even cannot understand the meaning of table service. I felt so thirsty in the whole process of meal. We even CANNOT FIND him till we asked for check... My friend and I are all generous people, we still gave him 10% tips. However, U know what happened? My husband and I stayed at the Waters Edge Hotel for memorial day weekend. We have a 4yr old who we didn't think would make it through a sit-down dinner after a long day of activities. Highly recommend sitting outside to experience this and they also have outdoor heating in case you get cold. We ordered Calamari, Seafood of the Day (Seafood Pasta), Grilled Skirt Steak, and Wild King Fillet of Salmon; food was mediocre and overpriced. The pasta especially was bland and serving size made me leave still hungry. Best part of the meal was probably the banana split we got for dessert. The best I can say about the food was it was really nice banquet food. It was edible. I had the Sticky chicken. It sounded much better that it tasted. The mashed potatoes tasted and had a mouth feel of boxed potatoes. The broccolini was fresh and good it was the highlight of my plate. My friend had the seafood pasta and it was underwhelming. Service was not only excellent and enjoyable - personable, without being pushy, or intrusive. We sat outside with our dog. One of our party had a birthday, which was simply mentioned in passing to our waiter, no request were made, Four of the serving staff came out, delivered a dessert with a really nice birthday card and sang. We had a super lunch here today, and can't wait to come back. Steak, scrambled eggs, home fries all tasty and cooked correctly. I like my steak rare, and that's how it was served. Mr B was craving a burger, and Salt & Pepper serves a good one. Side salad was yummy! Recommend their lemonade. It's fresh and tart. Service was excellent, and a nice ambiance in downtown tiburon. Went for dinner at about 6:30p. Order crab cakes (apptizer-$14) , spaghetti with chicken($19), and baby back ribs ($24) The best part - Service is good-natured and prompt, but misses a few marks (e.g. no asks for "pepper" or "cheese" like most other places). A little more crowded for space perhaps; I just had enough space to push my chair back a couple of inches before I'd hit the person sitting to my back. 1 unisex restroom - I didn't notice any more. Food was meh! After reading the other reviews, I wonder whether my experience was a "miss" but I doubt that. Bread basket (complimentary) was fresh warm sourdough, with just a couple of small slices, but enough to satiate until the food came along. The crab cakes were pricey for the portion (2 mini ones with not enough crab meat) but came with 2 large cups of sauce, which went waste since there wasn't enough cake to eat with anyway. Taste, was as good as anywhere. The chicken in the spaghetti was quite dry and did not feel freshly cooked; just thrown in to heat. The marinara was on point though the spaghetti was a close to al dente, yet felt undercooked. We didn't sent it back though. The baby back ribs were too well done, and very flavorless, but came with a bunch of fries which saved the day for me. The coleslaw was meager and hastily made. I've had bb ribs in a bunch of places to be able to compare, and I'd put the ones on my plate at about 2/5. I don't think I'm going to be patronizing this one again unless someone can explain why this was the way it was. However, to each their own; maybe your dish will come out great! read more
