honestly, a pretty decent brunch spot located in the heart of tiburon, right next to amazing bay views and cute boutique shops. with plenty of outdoor seating, it's a perfect place to have brunch on the weekend with your girlfriends, which is exactly how i dined there. we came in starving, and decided to share three plates amongst three people. we ended up ordering: ricotta pancakes, a breakfast quesadilla, and a crab omelette. the ricotta pancakes were perfectly fluffy and it's definitely a dish i'd reorder the next time i'm here. the breakfast quesadilla and crab omelette were good, with the omelette coming out on top. however, it was a bit hard to taste the crab, and the breakfast quesadilla did leave a bit more to be desired. moreover, the prices here are pretty steep for the kind of food they offer. i'm personally giving this place 4 stars because of the neighborhood it's in and the surrounding places to explore after brunch. p.s. - we saw klay thompson dining here once haha read more

This review is for weekend brunches, although Salt & Pepper is also a solid dinner option in downtown Tiburon. For years we would get weekend brunch with our family at New Morning Cafe around the corner. Great Omelettes and breakfast food and friendly staff who we got to know as people. Happily, the same great staff and brunch food moved to Salt & Pepper when New Morning closed. And we go there most weekends, where I order pretty much exactly the same "make my own" omelette every time. Why mess with success? read more

Mis made my order (I was VERY clear 3x during ordering about my dietary needs) the had three people come yell at me that it was my fault. No issue with a food error (I make errors all the time) but to yell at customers when it's not their fault is unacceptable. Used to like but service here has gotten rude. read more

What a shame. I really wanted to like this place but there was something that just didn't quite fit. The service was slow but I wasn't in a hurry and my order was slightly underwhelming. My friend and I were super excited to try his place after reading all of the glowing reviews, but neither of us were really that impressed with it unfortunately. I got the black and bleu burger and my friend got the roasted garlic starter. Prices do increase between lunch and dinner, as most places do. My friend liked her roast garlic, but the burger was unfortunately not worth the price they had on it. The bun was a bit soggy and lukewarm - it took a while to come out so we wondered if maybe they had forgotten about it or we just caught them on a bad day. It wasn't bad by any means, but I don't think it was good enough where we would want to come back. We just wanted to try something new other than our usual spots. Among our party One of us ordered the crab Benedict another the tuna melts another person got the hamburger and the fourth of us got the mussels. Each dish was delicious. The price point was fine not too expensive, but not budget, but best of all the wait staff were so friendly and accommodating. Located on what might be the shortest Main St in America in the town of Tiburon, Salt & Pepper offered a menu of American dishes and was a popular place for lunch on a sunny weekend afternoon. There was plenty of seafood on the menu, and I started with the Crab Louie salad, which came with lettuce, avocado, tomato, cucumber, celery, egg, and of course, Dungeness crab, along with the classic creamy Louie dressing on the side. We also had the more interestingly-plated Sesame Seared Ahi Tuna salad, a crunchy slaw of green and red cabbage, bell peppers, carrots, and sprouts in a creamy soy and ginger dressing, topped with slices of rare ahi tuna coated with white and black sesame seeds. Finally, we had the plate of Steamed P.E.I. Mussels, which came in a warm, tomato-based bouillabaisse broth and topped with crispy gremolata toast (made with a topping of parsley, lemon zest, and garlic), which was perfect for dunking into the soup. Hey, what a lovely little spot. I haven't had such a good breakfast in a very long time. Let me start with these wonderful pancakes. Lemon ricotta... More like heavenly pancakes. I loved that there was very little baking soda flavor in them and just right on the texture. Fresh fruits weren't included but they weren't needed. The pancakes came with only a syrup and even that wasn't needed because of enough flavor. Huge kudos to Chef for a very good mix. Before the pancakes came a set of crab meat egg Benedicts. Are you kidding me? They were so good that I was ready to lick the plate. I think the chef added a bit of lemon peelings to either a sauce or the english muffins at the bottom. Very unique and tasty. Those egg Benedict made me wish that I lived 400 miles closer to "Salt and Pepper" than I do right now. Hopefully I will get a chance to visit the restaurant again. All right, all right, even though it was a 5-star breakfast, it wasn't all perfect after all. The coffee was is just absolute crap. Tasted like diluted garbage from IHOP. I used to eat here when I first started coming to SF and stayed in Tiburon a few times, and have been trying to get the family to visit. The front is kind of non-descript, so they kept wanting to go to some of the other delicious places there, but I finally got them to try it and they were bowled over! The staff is super-friendly, and everything is prepared to the highest standards. I'm almost loathe to write a review in case it attracts too many folks and we are no longer able to fit in! Inside is cozy, and there are outside tables too. OK, the setting here isn't as striking as Sam's but it's quiet and was lovely in the sun. We both ordered a beer which showed up immediately and nice and cold. Throughout the meal our waitress and the bus boy were super attentive. I had the two free range eggs any style (scrambled) with sausage and hash browns and sourdough toast. A hard no to the hash browns...they were flavorless and chewy. Everything else was great though. From my 91 year old mother, Virginia: Today I had lunch with a group of 15 friends at "Salt and Pepper" in Tiburon, CA. We plan our monthly luncheons together at this restaurant because we love having lunch there. Not only is the food delicious, but the service is perfect and the wait staff friendly and efficient. The menu offers a wide assortment of delicious foods from soups to sandwiches, salads, and much more. We chose to be seated in an enclosed "outdoor" area that is protected but not too cold and that has heaters in case of a really cold day. There are many good local restaurants to choose from, but this is by far one of the best, and we are already planning to return next month. read more

We just walked in this restaurant when we did Tiburon History Trail. This trail is our favorite trail at Marin. We saw a lot of people eating there. Usually that's a good sign of nice food. We ordered local beer, fried calamari, chicken linguini with three cheeses, and BLTA sandwich. Calamari was very fresh and tasty. My linguini was very rich with three different cheeses, chicken Breast was also very fresh. Of course, I added my favorite hot pepper flakes. Sandwich was also chewy. Waiter was nice and server well. We came here after a hike at Angel Island as this restaurant is really close to the ferry. It's a super cute place near the water and has some outdoor patio seating for nice days. We started with the crab cakes which were pretty good. I wish they were a little bigger though. I liked the mango salad that came with it. For my main meal, I got the crab melt which was really good. You can taste fresh pieces of crab meat which I really liked. I also had some a sesame grilled salmon burger which was pretty good, but the patty kept breaking into pieces and falling apart. I really liked the wasabi mayo paired with it though. Overall, it was a pretty solid meal and the seafood was good. read more
