Valentines Day reservations and they definitely made sure you knew there was a 2 hour time limit! I don't think we ever mingled or hung around for longer than needed but I'm guessing there are those who do. Service was excellent, no complaints there. We started with the tuna tartar nachos and calamari. Both was delicious; we actually ordered another calamari to take to our son! We didn't think there were enough choices for entrees so we settle on the sticky short ribs to share. It was delicious but wished there were a few more choices. We also didn't get dessert bc the choices were either a chocolate cheesecake, panna cotta or sorbet. This place is a speak easy style with a dim quiet ambiance. Although the food was delicious, we would only come back if there were more choices overall

Salt is a great spot for a date night or girls' night out. It was packed after work on a Tuesday, so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. The cocktail-lounge atmosphere feels intimate and stylish, and the location is right near the Rosslyn Metro. Service was a little slow, but it gives you time to chill and enjoy your drink and company. The food was good across the board. The gnocchi was pillowy, rich, and really delicious, with a good portion of pasta and vegetables. The shrimp appetizer was garlicky, buttery, and simple but done really well. The grilled branzino was tasty with crispy skin and a nice sauce, though the portion was a bit on the smaller side. The short rib bolognese was rich, hearty, and definitely shareable between two people. The panna cotta was creamy with a good texture, and the fruit added a bright, refreshing balance.

Salt did NOT disappoint! The vibe was exactly what I wanted for post-birthday-dinner drinks cozy, cute, and just the right amount of moody. Most of the cocktails were hits, and for the couple we weren't crazy about, they happily let us try something new with zero fuss. Love that! Huge shoutout to Orianna! She handled our group of six like an absolute pro and kept the good energy going all night. I'm already plotting my next visit because the food menu is calling my name. Definitely make a reservation, though! it's a smaller, speakeasy-style spot and fills up fast.

This bar was hard to find since my Google maps was glitching but it's was worth the hunt. The vibes here are amazing ! The lighting, music, and service was 12/10. Everyone was warm, friendly, and attentive. The drinks were so tasty and unique. And the food 100/10. Yo, the burrata was amazing!! I would definitely return here ASAP.

Speakeasy-esk bar in the basement of Open Road Restaurant in Rosslyn. The space is dark and intimate, with just a few tables and a bar area. The music was a bit loud, but not terrible The food menus is pretty limited as well, though there are lots of drinks options I came here for dinner with my fiance and I really enjoyed my cocktail (a rum based drink in a tiki glass), and entree (short ribs), and we really enjoyed the chocolate cheesecake that we split as well It is a pricey place, but to me it was well worth it

I've been here before noted some updates to the menu. I don't recall there being entrées before, but I was very happy with my choice of the filet ! Good cook on the medium and quite filling! The tuna poke nachos were also very tasty and shareable. And I can't recall the exact name, but I got a matcha vodka drink, and I was so enamored with the edible glitter finish! It's very cozy and feels private and secluded! Even being here before once again, it's like finding a secret room. But I like that! The server was on top of it ! Never missed a beat despite being busy, gave great recommendations and was really personable and friendly to deal with! I think it's well priced for the experience

Very pricey, but every single cocktail was DELISH and the food was flavorful! I was so impressed with how much fish was on the nachos, and the sliders were soooo tender

love love LOVE! tucked away in the heart of rosslyn sits salt, a swanky, cozy speakeasy that's perfect for a date night. immediately upon entry we hear familiar R&B hits (which i LOVED) and are greeted by the very kind and helpful wait staff. i ordered the dirty vodka martini, which was perfectly briny and chilled, and the calamari, which was delicious! I can't wait to come back!

A nice and chill speak easy (ssh). If you're not paying attention you'll miss the spot. Here's a hint, it's not upstairs :). The cocktail list at this place is exquisite. The bartender does a great job with beautifully crafted cocktails and is very knowledgeable. The ambiance of this place is amazing. You feel like you've been teleported to some cool swanky place in New York during prohibition. It's nice. The food was pretty good too. I enjoyed my burger and wings. Great time here.

SALT in Arlington turned out to be the perfect low-key, elevated date night spot. Don't let the unassuming entrance fool you--after entering through a set of glass doors, look for the unmarked wooden door with a doormat. We almost walked into the neighboring American Grill by accident, but once we found SALT, the vibe shifted immediately: moody lighting, a cozy speakeasy feel, and an intimate layout that's ideal for couples or small groups. We dined late on the 4th of July (around 10 p.m.) and were still met with fantastic food and even better service. Cesar was our server and truly made the night memorable--so bubbly, thoughtful, and attentive. I asked for a garlic aioli for my truffle fries, and he brought out a full sampler of house-made sauces: truffle aioli, a honey mustard-style aioli, and ketchup, all plated beautifully. Above and beyond! Food-wise, everything hit the mark. My Wagyu burger was juicy, tender, and perfectly cooked medium--definitely lived up to the hype. The truffle fries didn't have a strong truffle flavor, but they were still crisp and satisfying. My boyfriend ordered the short rib, which was melt-in-your-mouth tender, paired with creamy mashed potatoes that balanced it out perfectly. We also tried the calamari, which I personally loved--crispy and topped with sriracha mayo and pickled red onions. It had a bit of sweetness that I enjoyed, though my boyfriend wasn't a fan of that flavor contrast. We both tried cocktails: I had their seasonal matcha drink (matcha-my-freak) which was creamy, citrusy, and refreshing--a surprising but lovely combo of matcha, lavender, and lemon. He opted for a non-alcoholic "you don't fool me" which was tasty and coconut based but a little too spicy for him. The jalapeño definitely brought the heat! The space itself is on the smaller side--probably about 15 tables and a small bar area--so I wouldn't recommend it for large parties, but it's absolutely perfect for a cozy night out. The menu isn't huge, but what they do offer, they do well. It leans more cocktail bar than full-scale restaurant, but we left full and happy. Parking can be tricky (it's Arlington), so plan for a garage if you're driving. But overall, this was one of the best late-night dining experiences I've had in a while, and Cesar's incredible service sealed the deal. SALT is officially on my "would absolutely return" list.

This place is a "hidden" gem. My husband and I came here for date night, and it was an amazing time. The food, ambience, service, and drinks were great. They also had great music playing in the background. Intimate vibe, perfect for dates, birthday, or just to come wind down after work or whatever. We look forward to our next visit here.

If you're looking for a vibrant spot that expertly balances atmosphere with creative cocktails, Salt is it. We decided to pop in on a whim early on a Saturday night, and although the wait was about an hour and fifteen minutes for a table, we were lucky enough to snag a sweet standing spot at the end of the bar with a perfect low counter to nosh on. **Ambiance:** Stepping into Salt feels like entering a cozy hideaway just a few steps off the street. Great mix of people add to the vibe. The volume is just right--not too loud for conversation but buzzing enough. The mixologists here are artisans, blending cocktails with a playful flair and wealth of knowledge that adds to the overall experience. **Food:** As our visit was more about the drinks, we opted for the truffle Parmesan fries to accompany our libations. The menu is cocktail-forward, and we tried selections from their seasonal, classic, and house menus. First up was the **Roberto Roy** ($18.50), a blend of Hornitos Reposado tequila, Laphroaig 10-year single malt scotch, Carpano Antica sweet vermouth, winter spice, Angostura orange bitters, and Fee Brothers Aztec chocolate bitters. It sounds complex, but the drink is smooth, an instant favorite. Next, we tried the **Mo Fi-Ya** ($17.50), featuring charred pineapple-infused 400 Conejos Joven mezcal, Cointreau, Chartreuse Green, spiced honey, and fresh lime. The presentation was nothing short of theatrical, complete with flaming sparklers from a splash of cinnamon. This drink is like Christmas in July--refreshing with a hint of holiday cheer! Our final choice was the **Barrel Aged Maple Old Fashioned** ($16.50). Made with Open Road Distilling Co. Eagle Eye rye whiskey, Fee Brothers aromatic bitters, and maple syrup, it's touted as the Best Old Fashioned by Northern Virginia Magazine. However, it was our least favorite due to its heavy viscosity. While some may enjoy its richness, I couldn't help but think it would be amazing drizzled over vanilla ice cream! I couldn't resist ordering a second **Mo Fi-Ya** because it was just that good--just as delightful the second time around! **Service:** The service at Salt was impeccable. The staff was knowledgeable and offered great recommendations, managing to stay attentive even during peak hours. In short, Salt is a must-visit for cocktail enthusiasts and anyone looking to enjoy a warm, lively atmosphere. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this place is worth the wait!

Salt salt salt! Wow honestly if I could give you more stars I would. Every aspect was amazing. Who- Oscar served us and there were two other gentlemen there as well. Of course i forgot their names. So sorry What- I had the whiskey sour which was probably one of the best I've had. I swear I tasted some pepper in there. The drink had all the right elements it was so tasty. My husband had the old fashioned which was nice. He thoroughly enjoyed it. But the food I swear my eyes rolled back for my filet. I was wondering why they didn't actually give me a proper steak knife well duh it was so tender you did not need it. If melt in your mouth had a photo that would be it. I got it cooked to the perfect medium rare . Now those sliders .... I don't even eat blue cheese I normally can't stand it. It was the perfect compliment and again since it was filet man was it tender! Oh oh back to my meal you know how you'd usually cut off the tips of the asparagus because they're hard .... They were NOT. SO TENDER AS WELL. I thought about sneaking into the kitchen and kissing the chef ‍. When- we did an early Saturday meal with no reservation we were able to sit at the bar. Why- It was date night and I thought let's try something ! We will definitely be back. Where- SALT

If you do anything when you go, please make sure to get the biscuits. Hands down THE BEST BISCUITS I've ever had lol. They are the most flaky and buttery biscuits, you can count each layer that these have. Pro tip is to ask for butter and the house made jam. We were sat in the solarium area, and it was during the heat dome, and it was really warm in there. Otherwise, though, it's completely charming inside and reminds us of some of the best French bistros we've been to in the country (e.g. Balzathar, Le Supreme). The three cocktails we tried--the frose, le jardin, and the clouseau--were all stunners. And of course the bread deserves another special mention, *especially* the room temperature butter. Thank you for not serving hard as hell butter! We shared the warm shrimp salad to start, and for $31, we were expecting more than a few avocado slices and 4 shrimp on it, but c'est la vie. The dressing was incredible, and the greens were crunchy. That's actually the only dish of the night that we thought was unfairly overpriced. One of us ordered the burger and the other got the rabbit pappardelle--you've got to get rabbit when you see it on a menu, which isn't often enough! There was a good amount of super tender meat and the pasta was perfectly al dente, all in a lightly stunning sauce. Chef's kiss. The burger was, no surprise, another triumph. There was juicy meat, bun integrity, and all the right accouterment notes. The fries are standard. Our daughter got their mac-n-cheese, which is probably just the gratin dish renamed. It was OK. We kind of got out of control for dessert and ordered the pot de creme, the cookie dough ice cream, and the profiteroles. Honestly, these were all good, but nothing that stood out as exemplary as with the savory stuff. Our only major complaint was the service. It was really spotty and while there was a very, very long gap in between when we got our water and then put in our drinks, but our mains came out almost directly after the salad. And the guy was just not very hospitable. Not necessarily a "bad" experience...it just could have been a lot better. Four stars, and we have already declared that we will be back again to "The Dip" because there is so much else on the menu that we want to try.

The breadbasket came with three pastries, which felt a bit smaller than expected, but the almond croissant more than made up for it. On the heartier side, the chicken and waffles were extremely filling thanks to the dense waffles, so definitely a dish to tackle with an appetite. One of the biggest surprises was the brunch salad with salmon, which ended up being one of the best salads I've had in a long time--fresh, balanced, and satisfying. The breakfast sandwich was another highlight: so good that it's now the new standard I'll compare all other breakfast sandwiches to. The smoked salmon bagel was also a fun experience, served deconstructed so you can build each bite exactly how you like it. Not everything was a hit--the French toast wasn't my favorite--but the overall meal was strong enough that it barely detracted from the experience. Due to its proximity to the White House and VIP guests it is often under guard, and the external staircase directly down to the bar is closed. Simply enter the main entrance to the hotel and ask the doorman to direct you to the interior stairwell down.

The food and drink here are both excellent and absolutely worth coming for. They serve up great, high-quality cocktails, and I also ordered the cheeseburger, which was really juicy and beautifully cooked. The space itself is famous for having political caricature artwork all over the restaurant, and they even give you fun caricature coasters that you can take home with you as a souvenir. Because it's a popular underground spot, it can definitely get incredibly busy and cramped in there. I've been multiple times, and almost every single time it is tough to find a spot to sit. However, I did come once during an off-peak time, right in the middle of the week around 1:00 PM for lunch--and it wasn't to busy, so we were easily able to just sit right at the bar.  I would definitely recommend checking this place out! While the tight crowds can make it a bit tough on a busy week day or weekend night, it is completely worth experiencing at least once for the great drinks, good food, and unique atmosphere.

We stopped in around 1:20 PM and were able to grab seats at the bar, which turned out to be a great choice. The Bourbon Lemonade was easily one of the highlights of the meal, refreshing, perfectly balanced, and full of flavor. If you're looking for a cocktail, this is definitely one to order. The chicken sandwich sliders were delicious, with juicy chicken and a soft biscuit, but the honey drizzle was a little overpowering for my taste. I'd recommend asking for the honey on the side so you can control the sweetness while still enjoying the flavors of the chicken and biscuit. The scrambled eggs were decent, but nothing particularly memorable. They were presented beautifully on a stylish plate, though the taste itself was fairly standard. The bartenders were attentive, friendly, and kept everything moving smoothly despite the busy lunch crowd. The service matched the upscale feel of the restaurant and made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, Yardbird is a great brunch or lunch spot with a welcoming atmosphere, quality food, and excellent drinks. I'd definitely stop by again the next time I'm in the DC area.

I've been to the DC and the Las Vegas locations and noticed that depending on which location you visit the menu can slightly change a few things. I prefer coming during Brunch hours which runs on the weekend from 10am-4pm. The buttermilk biscuits with honey butter and housemade jam are yummy. And the creme Brule waffles offer a nice sweetness for the sugar crave you might be having. And the fried chicken is to die for. Even has a gluten free option! But my fav brunch item is the gravy train. Which is a bacon, fried chicken, egg, and cheese sandwich SMOTHERED in gravy. This location also is within walking distance from a few metro stops. And there's a parking garage or two nearby in addition to street parking.

When did ice cream cake and your fav meal from mommy not be enough? All jokes aside, this was definitely an experience for my 58 year-mortgage-having- work-everyday-countdown-til-retirement self. Shout out to our top tier bartender, Eddie! My Mom and I were on time so we enjoyed perfectly delicious espresso and dirty martinis while we waited. Our party of 8 had top tier service from Ari and dined on top tier seafood in the midst of top tier elegance. I can't rave enough. (They even bought a round of complimentary bubbly to toast the birthday girl!) Hope you enjoy Proper Bar as much as we did!

A few people kept asking if we were going to Proper on F St or Proper on K St, both sports bars, and up until the day of I thought maybe they were affiliated. That was far from the truth... and honestly, once you walk in, you'll get why Drinks & Food I wasn't planning to drink since I haven't really been drinking lately, but I decided to go for a tequila espresso martini, and I'm glad I did. It was smooth, balanced, and honestly just really good. My friend ordered a Paper Plane, which she loved. For bites, we shared the chicken nuggets with caviar (yes, nuggets and caviar... and yes, they were delicious) and the lemon garlic shrimp, which was flavorful and perfectly cooked. Everything we ordered hit the mark. Prices are about what you'd expect for K Street and the overall vibe. Think $20-$25 cocktails, $20+ appetizers, and $35+ entrees. Portions, both drinks and food, lean on the smaller side, which is probably the only thing that might make you pause and wonder if it's slightly overpriced. ‍ Service Service was great. Our server checked on us regularly without hovering and offered helpful suggestions when we asked. Everything came out timely, and we felt taken care of throughout the night. Ambiance This is where Proper really shines. I walked into a cute, ground-level, dimly lit lounge with an opulent bar and a man playing the piano, which set the tone for the whole evening It felt upscale but still welcoming. Perfect for a romantic date night or a girls' night with your closest friends when you want to feel a little fancy. Overall The food, drinks, and vibes were so good that I completely forgot to take pictures, which almost never happens That alone says a lot. Proper Bar is a spot I'd return to when I'm in the mood for good cocktails, a stylish atmosphere, and a polished night out.
