Decided to go for their signature barrel aged old fashioned - a little sweet, but properly served and tasty. Really friendly crowd, with lots of interaction between regulars, including one regular with her guide dog who was welcome and treated properly by the staff and patrons. Enjoyed conversation and the surroundings. Ordered the pork belly appetiser. The sauces and garnishes made the dish - a salty, umami blend of textures. We dined late on the 4th of July (around 10 p.m.) and were still met with fantastic food and even better service. Cesar was our server and truly made the night memorable--so bubbly, thoughtful, and attentive. I asked for a garlic aioli for my truffle fries, and he brought out a full sampler of house-made sauces: truffle aioli, a honey mustard-style aioli, and ketchup, all plated beautifully. Above and beyond! Food-wise, everything hit the mark. My Wagyu burger was juicy, tender, and perfectly cooked medium--definitely lived up to the hype. The truffle fries didn't have a strong truffle flavor, but they were still crisp and satisfying. My boyfriend ordered the short rib, which was melt-in-your-mouth tender, paired with creamy mashed potatoes that balanced it out perfectly. I started with a drink called "Sunset in Bangkok" made with mushroom lemongrass, Belle Isle Moonshine, chili liqueur, curry cordial, coconut water and fresh lime and lemon. I usually prefer sweeter cocktails, but this one blew me away. It is savory but in a very balanced way. it is surprisingly refreshing and complex. For food, I ordered the Wagyu Burger. It is amazing. It's a very intimate setting, great for a date nights or food and drinks with a small group of friends. Make a reservation, it does get packed. The seating at the bar is first come first serve. It is a speakeasy so the door is hidden, don't get it confused with the upstairs restaurant. Their cocktails are perfectly balanced and there's something on the menu for every taste bud. The food was also great. I've come here two times now and I've had a great experience both times. If I lived closer, I'd probably be here all the time.
