You can see she is smiling under her mask, bubbly personality, attention to detail, food was excellent, and the manager Bernie, made sure my little girl enjoyed her birthday dinner. Love the food at Saltgrass! The filet is my favorite and the cheesecake is divine! They even (not this location) cut off the graham cracker crust for my spouse so it would be gluten free! Now that is going the extra mile! Now, the last time I ate here (this location) we got it delivered and the order was wrong which is very disappointing when you pay $100 for a meal - I called the restaurant and they apologized but I wasn't about to go back in 5 o'clock traffic to pick up the correct items. I wish I could remember the name of all the young ladies waiting on us (there were 3, I think one was a manager) because the service was great! They all did an amazing job checking on us and making sure everything was to our expectations. They have every other table blocked off so you can keep your distance but the restaurant was pretty empty when we went so we felt really safe! We had a party of 16 for an executives business meeting and dinner. We had a room reserved. Our waitress was totally awesome and she was very attentive and spot on. We ordered several appetizers, and rounds of drinks during the meeting, and then we ordered dinner. Everyone enjoyed the appetizers as well as their meals very much, and of course the drinks as well. My last 2 visits have gone from below average to downright bad. I realize that people's expectations have lowered significantly over the last several years but there needs to be some accountability and a minimum expectation level for a so called "nice dining" establishment. 1. Initial/overall service: (1) it took over 5 minutes before we were greeted. Server checked on our table twice aside from food delivery. Rude and hurried most of the service. 2. Drinks and bread: (1) it took over 5 minutes to get drinks and bread 3. Food delivery time: (1) after ordering our food, it made its way out after almost 25 minutes 4. Accuracy of order: (2) a steak was cooked "well" as opposed to medium - new steak prepared (15 minute additional wait) 5. Food quality: (3) the correct steak was not bad but I expected more quality for the price 6. Ambiance: (3) very busy and most tables full. Good noise and chattering going on In closing, this establishment has gone way down hill sad to say. Our server was sweet as can be but this is where the positive ended. Food was just okay, the tenderloin tips were tender and cooked just right but they were drowning in the sauce. Our wine and salad came almost at the end of our meal. We ordered the 9 oz pour and received the 6 oz; however, we did get the additional pour that was missing. My husband's was the same wine he ordered but mine was completely different and not palatable. We waited so long for every item ordered that I decided it wasn't worth the effort to get the correct wine. So I left it on the table. My salad was swimming in dressing, being hungry, I picked through it and ate what salad wasn't covered in dressing. The steamed broccoli was delicious. The restaurant just seemed like it was operating under staffed, disorganized and in slow motion. Before our evening was over, the banquet doors opened and people started coming out so I'm guessing, this had an impact on the restaurant/bar services. A bar tender shouldn't be busing tables, the money is in pouring drinks quickly and efficiently. The food here is awful!!! Did Saltgrass get bought out?? We ordered "cheese fries" which came out as potato cubes topped with sour cream, and bacon. 0 FLAVOR! How can something like that have zero flavor??? We decided to order the fried mozzarella which was ok....The outside was nice and hot and the cheese inside was room temperature and soggy. Bf wanted steak for his birthday so we came here for an early dinner. Our waiter was pretty quick to greet us and get our drink order. My moscato was nice and cold however the bf said his beer tasted old. My blackened redfish was well seasoned but a little dry. The asparagus was perfectly grilled. My bf enjoyed the Pat's ribeye. I'm really happy to see this old Texas Land & Cattle reborn as a Saltgrass. I've always been a bigger fan of Saltgrass anyway. It feels the same inside, of course. Very Texas, western, on the ranch, hunter's lodge, animal heads and barbed wire trimmed frames... carpeted floors, low lighting, a long wooden bar. It's warm and cozy and certainly steakhouse-y. My family had dinner here the other night and had a great time. We were seated right away and our waitress, Jasmine, was the best. She was funny, friendly, and just the right level of attentive. She made sure our orders were right (and that mine was gluten free), made recommendations, and made us laugh. What else do you need? My brother and I shared the Texas T-bone, medium rare. It had plenty of flavor and looked beautiful.. just like the photo on the front of the menu, haha. My loaded baked potato and Caesar salad were good too. A classic steakhouse meal done well. We also shared the "range rattlers:" a jumbo shrimp stuffed inside a jalapeno with jack cheese and cilantro. They're gluten free if you get them roasted instead of deep friend, and they're still pretty delicious. I think overall the food at Saltgrass is satisfactory and standard, but they do season everything very well! I almost always salt my food and I didn't need to here. Oh! We also tried the spiked chocolate milk for dessert. Not really something I'd order on my own fruition, but hey... it made for a great dessert and was very easy to drink. read more

I feel like this chain restaurant gets a bad rap, but I really enjoy a few of the dishes here and my food is always cooked well and the portions are very large. If you sign up for the rewards every year you get a $25 credit towards a meal. I decided to use mine, and the staff urged me take home dessert so that I wouldn't short change myself as my meal of a delicious chicken fried chicken with a sweet potato and fried onions was only $16. Tom and Cassie were excellent servers and attentive. I could only finish half my meal because the portions are so large. I used to frequent the Arlington location near six flags, but haven't visited them in years due to bad service. This was and is BY FAAAAR the best steakhouse I have ever visited!! The portion are "Texan" and cooked perfectly. The steaks were well seasoned and had beautiful flavor. The shrimp were also cooked wonderfully without being over cooked or dry. The restaurant was clean and very well kept (including restrooms). Stopped in for a quick bite with my wife at noon today. The server forgot to bring our bread so after what seemed like 10 minutes, we waved someone down. When the food finally came the ribs were charred and not edible. The manager said they'd make a new one and brought one back out promptly. Thanks to the manager for taking care of it! This one was much better, albeit, much smaller. It was only 4 ribs, but I was happy it was edible and actually tasted pretty good. The side of green beans were also good. My wife ordered the country fried steak and fries. They were fine. Overall the service was lacking and we waved down servers multiple times. I understand there was a large party, but your customers still need attention. It seemed like 2-3 servers short. While we enjoyed the food, we prefer not to wave for service and get the food in a timely manner and cooked right the first time. It also took a while for the server to pickup our credit card after we got the check. We were in a hurry to get back to work and the whole experience was longer than it should be. Also if you like ribs and aren't satisfied with the ones here, Outback's ribs are pretty stellar. I'm open to visiting again, but with so many similar restaurants in the area, it may be a while. We decided on last minute dinner change for birthday because of the great experience we had 2 weeks prior plus my wife and I love the grilled pineapple margarita. It is so refreshing but not overpowering with alcohol fantastic blend plus we had the best wait person, she was chatty, funny and made sure we never ran out of water. We started with the Range Rattlers, jalepeno stuffed with butterflied shrimp and Monterey cheese(i believe) w/side of ranch. The rattlers are good not over spicy but do bring too much heat. My wife ordered the Southwest steak topped with grilled shrimp, pico and cream sauce, baked potato loaded and steak medium-rare. Everything came as requested except the steak, it was cooked to almost well done which is huge NO-NO especially when ordered medium-rare. The othe little flaw were the shrimps they were also over cooked and 2 of the 3 butterflied shrimp were NOT cleaned or deveined. While this may not sound like big deal my wife is not a fan of eating mud and grit with her shrimp. Next was my order 2 weeks prior I ordered the Cajun topped steak & shrimp and it was fabulous so went with that again. While my steak came out a perfect medium-rare (oh the flavors!!) The forgot to top it with the cajun topping of cream sauce, crawfish and chopped andoulla sausage. Fortunately our waitress came by and saw the error and immediately ran off to get the topping. After these mistakes we expected a visit from the manager and with 15 minutes she arrived. She apologized for all the errors and wanted to assure us this was not acceptable and removed my wife's meal from our bill. We explained we did not hold Brandi(our waitress) responsible for any of it since she is not the cook or QA person that should have checked meal before being sent out with food runner. While this was not our best experience we know these things happen. We will be going back...as long as Brandi is there and brings smile to our faces.
