I returned for my father's 91st birthday. We used to celebrate at big, fancy steakhouses, but now we appreciate how effortless Saltgrass is. Parking is easy, getting a table is quick, and the staff is relaxed and accommodating. The food is solid, and it's never too busy or too loud. Andrew, our waiter, was exceptionally kind to my father. I'm puzzled by the new mocktail policy--apparently, you can't get a Moscow Mule Mocktail in a copper mug anymore, which disappointed my father a bit, but it wasn't a deal breaker. My father didn't want dessert, but Andrew kindly offered to box it up to go. The chocolate cake was a generous portion, which was a thoughtful gesture. Overall, it was a pleasant, low-key evening out with my 90+ year-old father. Thank you, Saltgrass.

We came to Saltgrass on a whim, we were greeted and seated pretty quickly. This place is a large family friendly restaurant. Decor is very rustic as you worked expect. Our server Samaria was courteous and very knowledgeable about the menu. Gave some recommendations on what to try since it was our first time. The food was good and they have large portions. I'd like to return and try other menu items but our first time was a good experience

Porterhouse, internal overcooked. Order mid-rare, was medium well.

Full me once shame on you. Fool me twice...well you know. Not very many steakhouse options in the Lake Travis area. Was craving some major beef, so I gave Saltgrass another try. True to its name, steak was salllllllllty. Very large porterhouse cut, green beans, cup soup, comp bread for ~50$ (before gratuity). I ordered my steak mid-rare and received medium well. Nice search, but internal temp way over. It took so long to receive I didn't dare request a replacement. Hangry. ;) Asked for the choice of Potato Soup to go. Ate it for lunch the next day. Some of the oddest soup I've ever had. ??? Flavor was overwhelmed with onions. Luckily, I actually love onions. The texture was very difficult to get over (see photo). Watery and grainy. Merp. It'll suffice when your iron is running low, but Saltgrass definitely leaves lots to be desired.

My best friend Ann and I share birthdays. We always go to this location to celebrate. The food was delicious as always. But this time our celebration was extra special because of our waitress Gabby. She was a delight. One of... if not the BEST server we've had at any restaurant in a long time. She was cheerful, observant, courteous, and on the spot with refills and checking in with us. We shared dog photos and a laugh every time she came by the table. Our evening couldn't have been better. Gabby is a gem. We wish her well on her journey through college and beyond. Gabby, thank you for treating us like family. You were a delight to share our evening with.

One prime rib was really small and fatty. Had to ask three times for real horse raddish. Potatoes were over baked. server was good but food was disappointing.

Came here on Veteran's day to celebrate a family member's birthday around 1pm mid week. First time here. Friendly front of the house. Service is a bit slow.. seems they are understaffed today. Maybe it was because of the holiday? Friendly table service. Drinks took a bit to come out. We only ordered 2 margs. Apps: fried pickles, some of the best I've had in CTX so far. Light, sour, fresh ranch/dill dip. I'd come here for happy hour and just get this and a drink. Main meals: Lunch Rib eye med rare, cooked as requested, melted in my mouth. Came with 2 sides. i got the potato soup. Hubs got the salad. -9/10 rib eye 10oz -6/10 soup -9/10 salad (finally some fresh good greens here in TX) 8/10. Chicken fried steak. Huge! Garlic mash. Yums. Hubs only ate 1/2. 9/10 Chocolate cake. 3 layers. Not too sweet. That and some cold vanilla ice cream. One of the best chocolate cakes I've had. Overall we had a nice time. If our drinks would have come out in 10min vs 15-20that would have made the visit a 5star.

I have been to quite a few Saltgrass Steakhouse, but this one was not one that I would recommend. The service was not up to par as I have received that others Saltgrass Steakhouses. The general atmosphere of the restaurant was dull, gloomy, unimpressive and seemed dirty. As we looked at the booth next to us, we noticed that the benches were ripped and torn, and the table seemed scratched. We ordered a ribeye steak 12 ounce and the double bone in pork chop with the baked potato and Caesar salad. The ribeye was un impressive as if it had been tenderized with a different type of tenderizer because it had a strange taste. The butter that we were given seemed like imitation butter or a cheap margarine instead of real butter. May I remind you that these are not cheap plates. The ribeye was $30 and the pork chop was $26.

Fantastic Maudeen filet tonight. Deliciously seasoned and though other places seem to be raising their prices daily, this menu seems to reflect the same or even what I consider low prices. We went ahead and got the Landry's card to benefit even further. I ordered my steak with the side of broccoli (after all New Year's resolutions) and it was exactly perfectly cooked and a heaping helping.

Raw burger to go. Should've just cooked my own. This was under seasoned, undercooked and gross. And expensive.

I sort of drifted the idea of wanting something that I don't usually order and that was the French onion soup and with Cerviche since it was a menu item for Happy hour. I was taken back by the size of the bowl was rather small for $10. But other than that it was really delicious and it was rather enough for me it will not fill you up but definitely it was enough food for me and the tropical Ceviche was served 'fresh with side of lemon slice. So what made the This dish so good was the fact that the tropical mixed fruit in the Cerviche gave it a blend of delicious flavors. I couldn't be happy I did order a house wine a cabernet and it had the tannins that was absolutely exactly what I wanted exactly what I ordered. Yes, I was a happy camper today for sure I definitely would recommend The French onion soup! Like I said this restaurant is a hit or miss what I mean to say is the fact that sometimes the dishes are not always consistent. If it's a very busy day you may not like your dish or if it's a very slow day then I would assume you'll be very happy with your meal like I was.

The salmon this time was ordered medium and it came out perfect on the edges but the inside was stringy and raw. I'm not talking pink, but the red, gooey, translucent flesh color. Waitress said "next time we'll order it well done." She was trying to be funny but it came off as a little dismissive as she didn't look at the fish. The chicken strawberry salad was very good except for the chicken. I thought a restaurant like this would know that a salad with bright acids shouldn't be mixed with fatty, lumpy chunks of dark meat. Apparently they use a rotisserie chicken that's stripped by a machine - then they just grab a handful of whatever comes out and throw it on the salad. For the cooks it's easy to remember - if it's slathered in sauce use dark meat, otherwise use breast meat. Service was attentive and the outside patio was nice.

Like most new mega C-stores, they are shiny modern facilities with more than just gas, chips, and beer. They're actually little food courts and restaurant oases that can make you a decent meal if you want it. Gone are the days when you're only option were hot dogs off of the steel rollers - - although plenty of those places still exist. For the necessary, I found their restrooms to be spotlessly clean and will maintained in terms of supplies. Nothing like a surprise when you're dealing with a surprise and in that regard TXB delivered. As an unexpected bonus there are self-check registers. I found that to be quite cool and bit of a time saver. I'm from that generation that was taught if you use the store's restroom, you should buy something--no matter how small--to thank them for being there for your biological needs. But, far too many times, in the quest for doing the right thing I found myself further delayed or inconvenienced. In addition to being in a hurry to get here, I was also in a hurry to get back home so time saving was very much appreciated. I think their prices on snacks were a little high and that was the only downer of the experience. Maybe I'm just not familiar with buying nuts at convenience store prices these days but $6.95 for a smallish bag of David's sunflower seeds seemed bit off the charts. I'm sure I'll be back for more or less than I came for this time and now it's not such a mystery to me. Recommended. P.S. In case you don't know what the TXB is all about it just stands for "Texas Born" which is both the store credo and mantra.

My absolute favorite dish is the fried fish and chips--perfectly crispy on the outside and tender and flavorful on the inside. It's honestly one of the best versions I've had anywhere. On my most recent visit, I also tried the lettuce tacos, which seem to be really popular there right now. The moment I took my first bite I fell in love with the flavor. They were fresh, light, and packed with amazing taste. I ended up eating the whole thing right away because they were just that good. I also ordered the fried dill pickles, which are another personal favorite of mine. They were perfectly fried and full of flavor. One thing I've noticed every time I visit is that the restaurant is always busy, which says a lot. It's clear that many people love their Mediterranean menu, and after eating here multiple times, I completely understand why. I also enjoyed sitting outside at the Hill Country Galleria--it's a great atmosphere to relax and enjoy your meal. I highly recommend Artemis Mediterranean Grill if you're in the area. The food is delicious, the menu has something for everyone, and it's definitely a place I'll keep coming back to.

My husband had eaten here before, but just tried the empanadas so we decided to come in and have lunch and try some of the other items on the menu. We both had one of the original beef empanadas, and he also ordered the chicken. They are served with a homemade chimichurri sauce, which is absolutely amazing! The empanadas are delicious, they are so fresh, so flavorful, definitely worth the drive. They do serve them individually for $6.50 each which I find a bit high, I wish they had a three pack or a six pack you could get at a bit of a reduced price because it feels crazy spending $13 on two empanadas with nothing else. We also ordered some of the sandwiches that they are known for and have won awards for. My husband went with the beef milanesa which is lightly breaded and served on their toasted bread, which again is the most amazing bread ever! I got the Lomito which is a slow cooked beef steak, simply served with chimichurri sauce on the toasted bread. I can't lie, I could see why it won an award. It was so good, tender, juicy, all of it! I got the half sandwich which came with fries and was $18. I wish I would've just spent a few extra dollars for the whole sandwich. The staff is really friendly and the restaurant is set up with some big green TVs by the bar as well as an outdoor dining area. Definitely massive flavor packed food you must try!

Treated like the regular I was, always phenomenal service, offered me special off menu items on every visit, the freshest fish, exquisite presentations...just wow. And a great happy hour to boot. Thennnnnnn... About a year prior to my last restaurant visit, I had ordered an extra large assortment of items ($$$$) for delivery for a special occasion at home. It had been a while, but I noticed immediately something was "off." Bottom line, everything was just sloppy and not as fresh as it always had been in the past. I chalked it up to delivery versus dine in. There was something in the back of my mind though that told me that Chef Sun would never have let those items leave the restaurant. Fast forward to in-house dining again. Visible wear and tear on the restaurant interior (looks old). A few plates were even chipped. Might sound nitpicky, but in my humble opinion they need to reinvest some money into the restaurant to get it back up to its shiny self. The service was lackluster, slow, cordial but not necessarily friendly. Some of my favorite menu items (such as the yummmmmy sea bass) are no longer available. Prices were significantly higher than they used to be; however, that's everywhere right? Pft. Decided to order some "safe" dishes that had always been personal favorites. Go to "Red Hill Tower" was served first. The presentation was all right. Not as meticulous as it used to be. When I dug in mixed it all together I noticed how horrible the knife work was. I mean they butchered the tuna. Knife skills are very important in sushi. Many chefs train for years. Flavor was a-okay with all the house sauces, but for 20 bucks it left me wanting more. Gyoza was greasy and chewy. Rice in California Roll was on the dry side. Katsu was also quite dry and lacked flavor. Admittedly the vegetable tempora was pretty tasty. Not surprisingly, I was informed that the restaurant had been purchased by new owners quite some time ago. All of the changes are so apparent, and none are positive. Quality control and pride of stellar presentation and service has disappeared. Tadashi is now (sobbing) sadly just another subpar sushi restaurant with much higher prices than most. Goodbye my old friend. I have no intentions of returning. :(
