The margaritas at saltgrass is pathetic. They put too much sweet syrups in it. You can't taste the tequila and it raises my glucose level beyond control. Then they bring a margarita with salt on it while I definitely requested sugar. I asked for sugar instead of salt because I'm a lover not a fighter. We love Saltgrass and it's one of our favorite restaurants. We have had some hostesses that were great and some that were not at all, but usually the service is pretty good when we sit down. Our food is always delicious and cooked to order. The manager always stops by to thank us for being Landry's members. The wait can be lengthy during Homecoming or prom season, but has been pretty good lately. My husband and I usually share a 10 inch wagon boss and get an extra side. The drinks are yummy. This place has kinda gone downhill. I've been there three times now and the last two have been a bust. This time we waited for someone to come to the table for 20 minutes just to get a drink order placed. Meanwhile there were no less than 4 employees standing by the cashier register next to our table chatting and hanging out. The food is not as good as it used to be, my steak was overcooked and just not that good for a 40$ cut, the fries looked like they were on the warmer all day with no seasoning at all and the salad was marginal as well. The appetizer onion used to be a "blooming onion" style but now it's the same fried onions that come out of a can it seems. Ultimately we won't be back for the price and the kitchen is operating at less than stellar. Atmosphere is great and the bar has decent drinks but, they can be found at other places for cheaper in the Rockwall area. A big thumbs down I ordered the blackened redfish. It tasted like nothing. It was also tough and dry. I didn't know that it was possible to make fish like jerky, but that chef can! From a very disgruntled customer: Ok Rockwallians..Saltgrass. Ugh. I am a member of their "Landrys Club" and we regularly get their food to go. The last few times have been horribly disappointing. Yes, I have reached out several times to the Restaurant Managers and to corporate...no response. I use their Curbside Delivery. Average bill is over $100. The last 2 times entire entrees are missing so guess who misses out on dinner? I call and finally get the manager after being put on hold multiple times and being forgotten. Manager says he will credit the missing food. It never happened. Second time was July 9th. I wait outside Curbside for well over 40 minutes past my arrival time. I call repeatedly as well as text and am told it will be right out. I get order, take out and inspect, at first glance all looks good. I order a Hillside Salad with thousand island dressing. I get home and the "dressing" is cocktail sauce. WTF? Call again, management says they will credit the $16 back on my card. Doesn't happen. Then, as a Landrys Club member, I should get points every time I spend money there. The last 2 times, the staff assures me that yes, I will be credited ($100+ each time) and it never happens. Is anyone else experiencing this horrible decline in customer service? I have emailed corporate 3 times and no response either. So I hate to post negatively about a local business, but this is utter BS. read more

I like the food here. That is why it's getting two stars instead of 1. The chicken fried steak came out hot and the bite of steak I had from my friend was juicy and tasty. The most disappointing part of this restaurant is the service. You really can't tell that you are at a steak house or a fast food or cafeteria joint. It started out great -- get seated, get the drinks and bread you need. After that, it just falls apart. The steak we ordered was well done. Let me say that this was not my steak, but a friend's. It came out overly charred so he asked for a replacement. About 20 minutes later the manager comes out and hands the steak to us. It's barely an apology and he rushes away. At this point on a weekday it's fairly empty. Is it that difficult to even fake a authentic apology? Or, hang by and give us more than a steak toss? The waitress was fairly nonchalant about the entire experience. Even when it was delivered no one asked us to cut in or how our steak was. We really had to wave someone down. It's check time and we get passed our bill. The steak we replaced is of course removed from the bill. Their system has them charge a steak and then credit it back. Except they did a credit on the wrong steak. The waitress doesn't believe us and acts like we are crazy. Until we point it out and she says the manager will take care of it. All with an attitude like "just calm down and stop bothering me" as opposed to "I'm so sorry we made a mistake what else can we do to make your experience better." Understandable, they are being quick and missed it. The manager explicitly says it's his mistake. Is he sorry? Not really, he just rushes away. Did I mention that at the check we are not even offered dessert or anything. It's my friends' anniversary and we have to wave them down for cake. Cake that is delivered the same time the check is. I'm really thankful I don't live near this Saltgrass because I will never have to come here again. Maybe they had an off day, maybe it was perception versus true sentiment. At any rate, you can tell when you aren't a priority and you aren't valued. This is an intrinsic part of human nature. And they truly hit the bull's eye. read more

The steak salad was cooked perfectly medium rare but it was so tough I couldn't chew it. I do not recommend this dish due to the lack of tenderness on the meat. I gave up after 3 different pieces to try to get it down. But it was seasoned perfectly. I did enjoy the green beans in the salad that were hidden underneath the steak. The chunks of blue cheese crumbles were the perfect bite. The salad had cooked bland unseasoned potato chicks in it plus olives as well. Plenty of parking and I was able to watch the Astros play on big screen TVs. I will be back for that bowl of soup again. No seat liners in ladies bathroom. It is not like they ran out. My wife and I had the worse meal ever from a salt grass restaurant from the Rockwall location, we ordered through grub hub, the delivery service was on point, we ordered chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken meals, the gravy from either meal looked like paste, and was cold. When the meat was dipped into it, the gravy did not stick, both of our salads were wilted and very old with brown edges on lettuce and rubbery looking tomatoes, our baked potatoes were half cooked and looked old and dry, I wasted 90 bucks last night, in todays times it totally unacceptable to give to go meals like this, all meals should be fresh, just like as the in person meals, I hope other people read this review and go somewhere else were you will be served fresh food, weather it's to go or In person. read more

The meal was as good as expected but there was an added delight. Our server. Lorraine, made the meal feel like I was with long- time friends though we had just met. Texans always relish a great meal. But what is better is how your treated. Any restaurant might serve a meal that shies of being exceptional but wonderful service can bring any customer back. Today was that! Lorraine has that exceptional touch. As a server she performed as anyone would want, attentive, intentional and always there when needed but her interaction was on the mark!
