This Rockwall Saltgrass continues to go downhill year after year. I have visited this franchise at many different locations, and the Rockwall location is the worst, by far! You would think with more steakhouse type franchises opening up, that this location would stop trying to nickel and dime its customers with basic refills on things like $9 a bowl soup; you would think I was asking for another $30 ribeye. you would do well to avoid this Saltgrass location and find another one in Dallas for sure. read more

Ordered online for curbside pickup. Arrived at the time my order was supposed to be ready. Follow the instructions to have my order brought to my car, 10 minutes later still no order. Went into the restaurant to retrieve my order and told the person behind the counter that I had been waiting 10 minutes. She didn't care, handed me my now cold order and I left. My 6 ounce fillet was mostly fat in my 6 ounce turned into a 3 ounce cut of meat. I realize saltgrass is not a top notch steakhouse, but I expected more than this. read more

We keep trying and every time the service is lacking - we always sit at the bar and this last visit was horrible!! We sit down and I say I would like to have a margarita - she asks frozen or on the rocks - the person next to me had one on the rocks so I said like that on the rocks. Food comes and I have to say food is always good never an issue there. Get the bill and when I said like that on the rocks she took it literally as what he was drinking a $20 margarita. I didn't know this man, never said one word he was there when we got there and his back was towards me - as a bartender she should have at least asked as that was a huge upsell!! Then I look closer and charged us for 3 drinks for my husband when he had 2 - we are great tippers but when trying to amp up the cost by cheating and adding extras that's where I draw the line. This is my favorite place when traveling through Rockwall. I normally get the same exact thing, I get the steak salad Mr with blu cheese dressing instead of the balsamic dressing. It's so good! It has diced tomatoes, red onions, green beans, romaine lettuce, diced eggs and potatoes. I can never finish it all. My husband tried the red fish with shrimp and lump crab on top. The fish was baked and it was delicious. My husband said it was so good. The last thing I always order and take home is a slice of carrot cake. It's big enough for 3 people to share. By far to me this has to be the best carrot cake I have ever tasted. It was busy this evening so we sat at the bar. No big deal had 3 bartenders to wait on us. read more

My wife and I just showed up on a whim, And just so happen to have one heck of an evening. My Bone in Ribeye was on point, juicy, with a great grilled taste. This Rockwall location just can't seem to get it right or just does not care. This time I waited 20 minutes for my salad and I had to ask the wait staff to check on it. Some very awesome friends of mine gifted me four $25.00 gift cards to Saltgrass Steak House. I wanted to look at their menu and somehow ended up on Yelp. After seeing all the negative reviews I was very skeptical about even ordering from Saltgrass. My husband and I ate there a lot pre covid and was very pleased with the food. So the comments threw me off. We did not have full access to our kitchen today due to remodel and we needed to order take out. With my daughter helping me maneuver the website to order online. I ordered from the lunch menu two 10 oz Ribeye medium well dinners with loaded mashed potatoes and dinner salad. I also ordered Chicken tenders with smoked cheddar mac & chz for my grandson. I arrived at my appointed time, went into the restaurant to pick up my meals, I was greeted by 2 very nice hostesses, went to the location they directed me to, and the young man at the bar greeted me as well and asked if anyone had helped me yet, I was there no longer than 2 minutes and the young lady working that area was bringing my food out. She was very courteous, very attentive and friendly as well. She took the time to check my order to make sure everything I had ordered was there. The food was sooooo great!!! My son ,his girlfriend and I went to eat at Salt Grass and I am a Landry member. We didn't have to wait but a few minutes to get seated. The 4 top table was in the busiest place you could put anybody. It was so congested with waiters running by and helping all the tables around us and we waited patiently to get a waiter to show up to get our drink order. After 25 minutes of them running all by us I ended up flagging a manager to see if we could get a waiter. I asked the manager if we were INVISIBLE because no one every said Hi or acknowledge us in anyway. The manager laughed ( which I didn't think it was funny) said he could take our drink order but it would be awhile to get someone to help us. I told him that being a Laundry member this was so unacceptable. I can understand if we had someone to acknowledge us and to say we will be with you when we can. But no such luck. I Told the manager I was leaving and I would be calling Corporate to let them know. I did call Them had to leave a message and I have never heard back from them either. Packed but very slow service and out of top chardonnays on a Friday night!?! No ambience other breaking dishes and staff running everywhere.

Arrived Sunday evening at 7:25. Seated by 7:30 and our drink order taken. Waiter brought our drinks, took our appetizer order and advised us they had fresh bread that had just come out of the oven. Our shrimp cocktail appetizer came out - still had the "shit" vein and peel on the shrimp. Our order was taken at 7:40. At 8:00, while still waiting on salads, our waiter stoped by and asked what sides my wife would like with her meal. WTH? He wrote it down previously. Still no bread. Still no salads. At 8:05 we left $20 on the table to cover our drinks (iced tea and sprite) and, at best, poor shrimp cocktail appetizer. I'm not sure what has happened at this location. I have been craving a saltgrass ribeye and could of not been more disappointed! I had a small party on 12/15/2020 to celebrate a kids birthday and enjoy some family in this challenging year. While the Server did a great job with our group, I was extremely sad when my steak arrived - it was thin and over cooked!! I asked for medium and thought that for a $25 steak it would of been at least 1/2-1' thick... this was more like a breakfast steak! I guarantee waffle house has a better steak!! Had lunch here today. There was no waiting, walked right in and the Host directed me to my table. I had a new waitress, 3rd day on the job. Charissa brought me that yummy hot fresh bread with butter, totally worth the visit. I ordered the Western Chopped Steak cooked medium and Garlic Mashed Potatoes. Had a side salad with ranch, very good forgot to take picture, I was starving. Chopped Steak arrived, season very well and juicy, very delicious and fulfilling. I took my family to Saltgrass in Rockwall tonight. Having eaten there for 20 plus years, I was sorely disappointed in the pathetic cut of meat Saltgrass tried to pass off as a filet mignonette. The six ounce steak would not even qualify as a cheap breakfast steak. it was maybe (and I'm being generous) a half inch thick, was tough and full of gristle. As a routine, I always order a filet mignonette regardless of what steakhouse I choose. To top it off, the had the audacity to charge $28.00 for a piece of shoe leather that would not command a $5.00 charge at any reputable busines. It's a sad commentary on the cheap piece of meat they tried to pass off as a filet mignonette. I definitely do not recommend their filet. It is a sad experience and they will not see me again. This is not the Saltgrass I know!!! Worst food ever cheese fries that are chunks of potato with almost no cheese and just not cheese fries(fries being key word). Husbands steak was thin and overcooked. My chicken Laredo was like leather. Did not get salad or all toppings for baked potato, chicken had no flavor covered in scallions and one tiny piece of avocado. I called and had three people hang up or leave me on hold. The manager hung up three times and refused to credit me my $87.00 for this awful meal. He was rude,not helpful or understanding, refusal to help. Would only give credit for salad that was missing. Said calm down, really??? What happened to customer is always right? We have spent thousands there. Never again! I will make sure everyone knows how bad it's been with them. I felt so bad cause my husband took me there for my first time last night and I didn't get to enjoy the whole experience of being there cause I have a ear infection coming on but this place is totally worth every dollar. The service there is wonderful and quick to get what needs to be done. Staff is really friendly and patient to get orders in, they always ask if your glass needs to be refilled or if you need anything else. The style of the decorations is really cool I love the horn chandeliers. The food is amazing but I waited to eat the food I got for lunch today cause I wanted to give them a fair review. Walking in at 4pm for lunch service just doesn't seem like the time to already hear "let me get a table cleaned off". It wasn't a packed scene so that initially threw me off. Let's just say I would not want to come around dinner time. Drinks took awhile to come out. Our appetizer fell short in the aspect that the description on menu stated cheese fries but they look like chunky potato pieces (a version of potato wedges). We asked for a side of jalapeños and received 1 grilled jalapeño. Ranch was not enough for those bad boyz. (Yes, the "z" is intended). Caesar salad could use more dressing as well. Main meals came out and not up to par. Had to get mini corny dogs re done as well as all steaks and broccoli by itself because it was soaked from the meat juices of steak. I spoke with Megan (manager) at that point and she removed our fries and all our meals from the ticket. We did pay for mine and our two alcoholic bevs. The management went above and beyond to correct our experience! We also received two complimentary desserts which were HUGE and so delicious. I had the Blacken Redfish with a light sauce of crayfish, diced Tomatoes and 2 grilled shrimp. I usually get the Pat Ribeyes but wanted a lighter option. The Redfish was delicious and the sauce. I also had asparagus which they always season perfectly. My husband had Country Fried Steak with gravy, which was a deep fried steak and garlic Potatoes. He had leftovers and said delicious. Their Ranch dressing is made in house and is fresh and delightful flavors. Everyone is super friendly and on top of their efficiency. Great ambiance and location, but my work colleagues advised they had to wait 1 hour the night before - I guess I just got lucky. My server Grace was so friendly and welcoming. Huge Disappoint. Be warned so this DOES NOT Happen to you. This is hard to write, but I'm tired of being pushed around by corporate greed. I took my husband out to dinner for his Birthday to our local Saltgrass Steakhouse, owned by Tillman Ferreira at Landry's Restaurants, and was horrified at the end of the night to look down at my shoes and see some kind of bbq or chocolate sauce covering my favorite pair of boots. When my husband and I looked, the sauce covered the entire supporting pole of the 4-top table. When I brought this to the attention of the General manager, Lynita Early, who kindly accepted fault for the sauce covered table and promised to have corporate take care of reimbursement for the shoes. It's been 2 months since I reached out to Landry's corporate. They are now sending my ruined shoes back to me and refusing to reimburse me for my J Crew boots after they said they would. All I wanted was my shoes to be replaced by a similar pair from J Crew. read more

Saltgrass has always been one of our favorite Texas Steakhouses and still serving us well with this visit to use my Landrys Select Birthday Reward. I treated myself to the Smothered 22 Oz. Medium Rare Silver Star Porterhouse with Chicken Tortilla Soup and French Fried Onions Perfect Birthday Reward Meal! Cynthia switched it up from her usual Medium Rare Maudeens Filet Oscar and ate the Chick Laredo, moaning through every bite. Cynthia really enjoyed the chicken. Our meal was finally complete after sharing the Lunch size New York Cheese Cake with Strawberry Puree and Vanilla Cream. My Iced Tea was perfect but our only reason for not giving 5 Stars was there lack of IPA's. Cynthia ordered the New Belgium Voodoo Ranger IPA and the bar told our waitress Grace they just ran out, so Cynthia settled for a Guinness Blonde and really enjoyed it. Still wanting an IPA to cleanse her palate, I suggested the Stone IPA. Our poor waitress Grace sent the Manager to our table to break the bad news this time saying he couldn't find the Stone IPA, bringing a bottle of the New Belgium Voodoo Ranger instead. We explained to the Manager that was our first choice and the bar told Grace they were out. Manage the Bar the way you manage the Restaurant and everything will be Great! read more

I must say that the customer service I received from my waiter Josiah was top notch. He really knew how to cater to my every need and make me feel as if I was the only one he was waiting on. I ordered the steak and cake which is a center cut steak with a crab cake. Unfortunately my food was cold. I think they prepared it first and allowed it to sit while they finished the rest of the meals for my table. I will say they tried to heat it up in the broiler but it made it worst because the outside was warmer but the inside lukewarm to cold. Management was very kind to remove the food from our ticket. They even offered to prepare something else but I had to pass. My table completed their meals and it would be unfair to have them wait on me. But the prices are still high! Similar to macaroni grill which also used to be great but is now pretty terrible - it is like they have cut costs and are using low quality or pre-cooked foods, not sure, but I will not be going back to Saltgrass. read more
