What happened to the steaks at this place?!? I ordered a ribeye and it was MAYBE 1/2" thick and way over charred. I've been a fan of this place since 2003 when I lived in the DFW area. I even worked there for a while. But last night was terrible! That steak was way too thin for $32 bucks! Is it due to the current inflation causing them (and others) to do this? I guarantee the steaks used to be at a MINIMUM of 1" thick. And reheating the leftovers was even worse. I might not ever go back. I will try Texas Roadhouse to get a better comparison and hopefully their steaks will actually be thick cuts of beef like they usually are. And if there's are just as bad, I'll make my own from the store and save $50 bucks. Do a better job, Saltgrass. You're supposed to be a steakhouse, not Golden Corral. read more

I was excited to eat at Saltgrass Steakhouse even knowing I wouldn't be ordering steak ( I grill a REALLY good steak- filet, rib-eye). Ordered a Manhattan to start ( $13 on final ticket as no drink prices were posted). Manhattan was very good but not a $13 drink... Ordered the fried pickle and peppers combo for appetizer. When it was delivered the food runner said here's your fried pickles. I stopped him and stared it was supposed to be both pickles and peppers. He pointed to one and said that's a pepper. It was indeed and the only one on the plate. The ticket said fried pickles so I definitely didn't get the combo. Ordered the country fried steak with onion straws and side salad. Side salad was very average, onion straws were good and the country fried steak was a disappointment with very little flavor in gravy, meat or batter. Only ate half of it. Bill for four of us was over $150. Definitely not expected for the quality of the food. I will say they seemed to have plenty of staff and management which was encouraging seeing other places are struggling with staffing. read more

Came for my husbands 50th birthday. They are understaffed for sure. We were told a 10-15 minute wait with restaurant at half capacity & it was more like 25ish. Took about 15 minutes for a margarita & that was after I asked about it. Food was TERRIBLE!!!! Steaks were super bland and were not of quality for the price they are charging. 2 chicken fried steaks were ordered at our table, both came out cold with a film across the gravy (from sitting in the window to long). Kids meal was served cold (corn dogs and fries) We sat for over 10 minutes awaiting drink refills! Broccoli was hard as a rock and not cooked! Basically felt like it was thrown on the plate, straight from the fridge! Restaurant was not busy... plenty of servers and not a super busy evening! (I was a bartender/server for years and husband is a cook) No manager walked around to even ask how people's meals were. We tried this place out for my BIRTHDAY dinner... and honestly I wouldn't recommend this place to homeless people if SG was giving away their food! Very upsetting! read more

It is a rarity I have bad experience but here is my one. Had reservations and was seated right on time. We ordered and I started noticing others around us getting their food. An hour later no food so asked for a manager. She came over and said the kitchen was behind. A few moments later our food came out. I got the half rack of ribs and fried shrimp. Both were good and the house salad was also good and came out in a cold bowl. They did code our bill as kitchen issue and reduced the overall price by 15%. read more

Will never visit this location again. We WALKED about 1/2 mile from our hotel to have dinner with some friends who also WALKED from the same hotel. We were seated, ordered waters for the table and an appetizer. One of our party ordered a beer and received it. When the server came back two more of us ordered alcoholic drinks (a draft beer and a glass of wine). Soon the "manager" came to our table and said that they were concerned that we may be overserved and would not be serving any more alcoholic drinks. Great steak place, food was great and service was great. We received a gift card as a Christmas gift so we gave them a try. We started with the queso with brisket, very good,a little thicker than most queso at other restaurants but flavor was on point. I tried the Cajun Ribeye and my wife had the 6oz fillet with the Urban Cowboy topping. Atmosphere you'd expect in a Texas style steakhouse, but trying for slightly upscale. The service was good, but slightly slow, but not really too bad. The beer bread was warm and fresh, but slightly bland. We started with fried mushrooms, which came out hot. The ranch dressing was great, but the shrooms were also bland, missing out on flavor that a little more salt and perhaps some parmeson could fix. I ordered the standard ribeye, med rare. It was a good steak, tender and cooked right, but like everything else, just not enough flavor. Baked potato was good, but bacon pieces were chewier than i like, prefering crucnchy. My other half ordered chicken fried steak. Not something I enjoy, but he said it was above average, and I'd trust his opinions. The mashed potatoes that accompanied were probably the best thing of the night, more than likely real, with bits of peel, which I like. Overall a positive experience, but only average overall rating as I expected a bit more from the slightly higher prices. read more

1st time there with a group of 10 for our good friends birthday. All of the orders where wrong, and for the price what we did get was subpar. They had one manger who tried to make a difference but it was so bad that we did not see her again. My friend had reminded them that it was a birthday dinner and could he get his girlfriend a piece of cake, well that never happened either. I will say they did cut his bill for all it but I personally don't think it was enough. We got fried mushrooms and cheese fries as an appetizer which i didn't understand why they were called fries bc they were huge cubes potatoes covered with toppings they were good but we was just expecting fries. IMO the apps and salad before the steak was the best part. I agree w others on here that the quality of the food for the price doesn't match up. My steak was very tasteless and under cooked lots of grissel and a tendon running down it grossed me out from the first bite. My shrimp come out cold and they were fried shrimp. I was disappointed in our meal bc we ate here at salt grass in Branson and it was delicious but I think the quality of meat is horrible . Will not be back read more

We really wanted yo try this place because we are Landrys customers. We are traveling and thought it would be a great idea. We arrived at 615 PM and we waited 20 minutes before we even got a drink order. 15 minutes later we placed our food order. 30 minutes later we were told the food was coming out and if we needed anything and I said it would be nice to have our salads. He brought them out and the food came out another 40 minutes later. Other patrons came and left before we even got our food. Was very disappointed with what we experienced. Came here for lunch around 12:00 due to something else being closed. It was the 4th of July and still had a good amount of people working at sat us immediately. We got the fried pickles and peppers as an appetizer and let me tell you.... it was the best fried pickles i've ever had (and i order it at about every restaurant I go to). After that my fiancé got the 12oz ribeye medium rare with cognac pepper sauce and blue cheese crumbles on top. The steak was cooked perfectly and he said everything was really good and definitely worth the money.
