Friendly waitress but that's about it. Very slow when it came to attending our table, we needed refills but she didn't check up on us often. Food took over 50 min to get to our table. This bar has very nice staff members and a great owner. Everyone was very attentive. The owner himself was a very nice gentlemen who went out of his way to come over to our area and get to know us while he himself was there enjoying his night. A sports bar with a unique menu. Sure there are standard bar favorites, but where else can you get salty balls (chicken tenders wrapped in bacon and stuffed with jalapeños and pepperjack) or food served in a literal dog bowl? We came to Salty Dog looking for a relaxing evening. I arrived and secured a round table with six chairs for our group. I sat at the table for about ten minutes with no contact. Finally a server walked by and told me someone would be with my shortly. The table next to us has their order taken and turned around and put their menus on our table as I sat there. Finally about ten minutes later as two of our other guests in our party arrived the server came. She seemed annoyed when we asked about drinks and said she'd have to get us a bar menu. We all ordered water as we waited for that menu. The rest of our group arrived before she came back with the bar menu and our waters. We ordered drinks appetizers and our meals at the same time. The chips and queso came out really fast. The Adam Bombs (just ok) came out about 20 minutes later. Then our meals come about twenty minutes after that. We asked several times about our salty balls and she said they were "coming right up." Our meals came. No salty balls. She seemed surprised. She said they got sent out to a big party on the patio and she's bring them out to us and comp them. That was nice but our real food was there. When they came the bacon tasted over cooked. We got a five order and each ate half. Two stayed in the basket. Yuck. My shrimp POBOY sandwich was good. French fries just blah. My friend got the fried seafood basket and was disappointed. My friend with brisket fries loved them. Our friend watching her diet ate tilapia and said it was just okay. Our server was quick to bring our checks, but we were in no way ready to leave. It was obvious that a bunch of Mom's was not where she wanted to wait on on a Friday night. Overall we were really disappointed and won't be back. read more

The partially-covered patio has a nice fireplace and TV, but they allow people to smoke on the patio (right next to the no smoking sign).

Salty dog is our neighborhood bar. It's right across the street and when we're feeling some good food and beer we head here. Everyone here is nice and the place is clean. The food comes out relatively quick and it's all tasty. I love their salads and their buffalo chicken sandwich is really delicious. A good meeting spot with friends and definitely when you watch to watch a game. read more

Poor beer selection and very rude bartenders. They act annoyed to have to serve you. Maybe I am old fashioned but I still like it when bartenders are friendly and smile every once in a while. Sometimes the atmosphere is a bit frantic and loud, but that's all apart of the excellent experience of great pub food, and service. The owner has got to be one of the nicest people I've ever met! The menu has some really different items, but they are all tasty. My son and his family come down from dallas and this spot is a must, for them to have lunch. The amount of TV's is huge, great service, even the owner will come over and chat with you, makes you feel very welcomed. read more

The manager/cook was very rude. An individual in our party didn't like the Margarita that the waitress brought her. The manager immediately started making accusations that she was trying to get the drink free. Went in for lunch today. The food was predictably good, but the service was awful. It wasn't particularly crowded for Friday at lunchtime. A rude staff of bitter women. I went in to the establishment on 8-5-2016 and had a very poor experience. From the moment I walked into the place, every waitress was occupied with themselves vs the customer. Food at least came out hot which, just happens to be, the only positive part of my experience. Beer glasses are an inconvenience to drink out of and the waitresses don't pay any attention to the customers. I literally have to hail a waitress multiple times to get any service. Not only that but they didnt know the menu items and the suggestions were awful. They have been under new management for over a month and there has yet to be any positive changes. My Husband and I frequent Salty Dog's often yesterday was my first complaint ever. The food is always great even the kids love coming here when it was time to cash out the bill came to $61.38 fine I handed the waitress $80.38 she brought us the receipt and said have a good day. *blank stare* Ma'am where is our change? Went today and was very disappointed! My friend and I both had the chicken fried steak basket. It was greasy and the batter was soggy and fell off of the meat. Very disappointed. I've eaten here multiple times. The food is always good, however if you substitute anything on the menu, it is an extra charge that is more than most restaurants. With interesting, big, heavy burgers, or giant bowls of little corndogs, this place isn't for light eaters. Though the Turkey Burger isn't bad either. The hotdogs are pretty good too. The restaurant is a little tucked in the corner and not well lit. The inside was much nicer than the outside let on. Lots of televisions and excellent service. We had dinner with a large group of people (12) and they did a great job accommodating us. The food was excellent! We had the Alpo appetizer (fantastic for a group) and an extra order of Salty Balls. For dinner, I had the sourdough burger, which was phenomenal! Each half of the burger had an entire hamburger patty on it. The portions were so huge, I gave half of my burger away. There are LOTS of options on the menu, which satisfied the picky kids and a variety of adults. We will definitely go again if we are in the area! read more
