Very young girl ( I believe she was the owner's daughter). Food came. Hubby's eggs Benedict came with no hollandaise sauce we had to ask for it and when it was brought to us it was ice cold. My chicken salad platter was awesome. The croissant came out perfectly warm and toasted. Coleslaw however lacked in flavor. A little too much mayo. Let me start by saying I have never felt more welcomed at a restaurant than I did today at Samaria. The servers and owners are like a big family and they embrace their customers which was a great feeling. I ordered a cappuccino and the eggs Benedict with hash browns. The cappuccino was just the right temperature with a cinnamon dusting and they have everything you need on the table to make it just how you want it from half and half, flavored mini creamers to every sugar and substitute under the sun. The eggs Benedict came on a perfectly toasted english muffin, Canadian bacon, poached egg and daily homemade hollandaise. The hollandaise was hands down the best I've had in Tampa bay. The hash browns that I chose as my side were what you expect your hash browns to be! They were thinly shaved potatoes seared to a perfect crisp and I seasoned mine up with salt and pepper. This will be my go to breakfast spot. I haven't been to a restaurant that makes you feel so at home, doesn't kill your wallet and sends you home fat and happy! I've been wanting to try this spot since I've moved to Tampa. Street parking is free on weekends & we didn't have to walk far to get to the restaurant from our car. This place definitely fills up the later you get there. The service was amazing. I wish I could remember our servers' name but she was extremely welcoming and really attended to us. I ended up ordering the omelette with home fries and toast. For $13 bucks you really can't beat how much food you get. The food was all really tasty I was glad I was able to take the rest home for left overs. You can tell this place has its regulars-- which just shows how good it is. It was super windy outside, but still beautiful. I wasn't super hungry, so I got a strawberry smoothie with banana and strawberry with fresh fruit! It was SO YUMMY and refreshing. I also had a side of bacon and I didn't like the texture too much. We came here because the line at first watch was too long. This is a good place for someone looking for a diner type feel with diner type food. It was definitely not anything special and you are not going to find any new age food. The staff was friendly but the food way okay. I had eggs which were fine nothing I couldn't make myself at home and my husband had the monte cristo. He couldn't even finish it because it lacked flavor and he hated it. While visiting Tampa during Memorial Day weekend, I stopped by this cafe for brunch. The experience was less than stellar. I understand the challenge that the pandemic has placed on restaurants, but that doesn't excuse poor attitudes. We were seated outside by a hostess and waited patiently for a server. A male employee came outside the door , and yelled, "You can't just sit outside and not check in!" What an awesome way to greet guests. After almost a 10 minute wait, you get barked at. We responded that we were seated by the hostess. After waiting a few more minutes, I went in an explained the altercation and was reseated. This time we were greeted by Kristin. She was a delightful server. While new, her energy was great. The manager, Wendy was awesome as well. The was a seven out of ten. If you're ordering an omelette, bring an appetite. Parking on a late Sunday morning was difficult. Couldn't find anything on street so I settled for the closest lot, a block away. $11 for 0-6 hours. Ouch. My date and I didn't have to wait for a booth. Service was reasonably paced for a nearly-packed restaurant. He ordered a bacon omelette with hash browns. I ordered steak and eggs with home-fried potatoes... I love when places offer more than one style of potatoes! My steak was ordered medium rare plus but was unfortunately well done. The over medium eggs were fresh and delish. The potatoes were simply perfect. By the time I wolfed them all down, it was too late to wait for a steak redo. The manager apologized for my steak, and I was totally cool with it. She and our server were both very nice. With the steak off the bill, I still spent $8 for two eggs and potatoes. Pricy, but we left satisfied. Good quality, high priced breakfast nook on a bustling block downtown. Worth checking out if you're already in the area, or plan to spend the day. very poor service. To me, when a waiter makes a mistake and forgets to print your order, while upsetting, I would not count it as bad service. what counts is how the restaurant deals with that. And this one was seriously handling that in a way you can see they could care less about their customers. 1. After over half an hour wait, we asked the waiter what about our breakfast. she said she'd check. A moment later I saw her go to her computer (where she probably realized her mistake and ran to print our order). To us she just told we are almost next in line. That was weird because the family that ordered with us finished their breakfast already. I'd expect her to admit her mistake but not only she didn't', it seemed that they didn't even bother to speed up our order. after over 45 minutes while 2 more tables got their order after 10 minutes wait, I asked to see the manage. who simply brushed me off. almost an hour past till we got our food. This is when the manager finally bothered to come, with the cook to serve us. I stressed how I'm upset with the service only to hear first that there was a big group before me and that they got my order only 15 minutes ago. I've explained how long I was waiting and that this is concerning but they were only full of excuse. 2. my sunny side up (which I ordered well done after confirming it's possible) came really undercooked (white still liquid) I was really pissed off at this point. I've told them it's not how I ordered but that I'm so hungry at this point I can't just wait again for them to fix it. 3. Needless to say I wasn't compensated in any way. Starting off with the service. You walk in and instantly feel like family. Everyone is smiling and is SUPER nice which I appreciated. The best service! They serve breakfast all day which is great if you are feeling breakfast for dinner! I ordered the mushroom, Swiss cheese eggs Benedict which was good. I chose the side of home fries which were perfectly crispy and delicious! Honestly, not the best Benedict I have ever had but was good quality food. I prefer pinkys eggs Benedict. Not one to drop poor rating but I'm compelled to do this. We as a family of 4 including 2 young kids showed up here for brunch on Easter Sunday last week. I noticed there were at least 5-6 empty seatings including booths. The not so friendly hostess seated the couple who walked in with us right away then rudely asked my family to have a seat for at least 5 minutes! We sat patiently but noticed 3 young college aged kids get seated after we sat down? I tried to give them the benefit of doubt thinking maybe they made reservations? That wasn't the case . "Yes yes all of that" the lady says. I'm served a good portion of fresh lox with no capers and no lemon. I ask for capers and lemon and receive limes. The server says, oh we no do capers and lemons here. When I go to pay they charge me $1 for the cream cheese and proceed to tell me that in New York they don't eat their bagels with capers or lemon, never heard of it. The attitude was outrageous. The food is decent. Nothing special. Not very healthy. Certainly not local or organic. The condiments are the standard Pre-packaged garbage variety that are permanently left on the table due to their lifetime shelf-stable toxic ingredients. I've eaten here quite often simply because it's convenient. It should be cheaper due to the low quality bland food, but it's in a prime location. So I can't complain too much about the price. But for the same money, you can eat a far better meal at First Watch a few doors down. But you'll also have to wait to be seated on the weekends, as there is almost always a line. But today will be my last time coming here. The obese lady who runs the cash register must be the owner or at least the manager. Every time I've come here she ends up browbeating a waitress for something. This time it involved a screwup on my order. It was a simple oversight, I was charged for something I didn't receive. No big deal. Three times my waitress and one other had to put up with a 5-minute rant for a .75 cent overcharge. Bad leadership. Poor food. Loss of my future business forever. I've been to Greece. The menu items here have Greek names, but they taste nothing like what you'd get in Greece. The menu has been Americanized using ultra cheap ingredients.
