I don't even know where to start. The technician that came is absolutely inapt to the task. Seriously, this guy should go back to training immediately. I called for a furnace that overheated, and reported a few other issues including a suspected gas leak. He did not even test the furnace and left. He did not perform any basic diagnosis. Turns out the furnace was not adjusted properly, and there was indeed a problem. A very simple and basic test (gas pressure) would have found it. It is impossible to measure the gas pressure without operating the furnace, so there is no way he would have found the problem. How can they dare leave a service call without even trying to turn the furnace on ? Without checking the basic operating parameters ? I offered to show a video of the issue, he did not even look at it. He told me he's been doing this job for 15 years. Apparently he has been screwing up for 15 years then, while thinking he is an expert. Talk about overestimating oneself ! They lack the proper methodology and professionalism to diagnose a real issue. Bragging about your 15 years of experience does not help the customer. Only the result counts. And the result here is a loss of time, opportunity and money. Plus the technician knocked on the wrong house, reported that I was not home, and left. I had to call the company to get him back. And they started to blame me for the layout of the streets instead of apologizing. Incredible. It shows their mindset. I could expand more on what happened (and will do if necessary, because there's more !), but this is a good summary. Please do yourself a favor, stay far away, and call a company that has proper certified technicians such as NATE certification to ensure you will receive a trained and certified technician. Not an inapt poser like here. PS: Of course they did send me a quotation to perform work on the system - for $1000+ - but none of the work they quoted would have fixed the issue. I dodged a bullet by having someone else come. PS2: I notice the same technician I mention is also mentioned negatively in other reviews. I kindly suggest the management of the company reviews the "performance" of this "technician" before there is further reputation damage and customers left in the cold. read more

Our AC unit was very loud, fan used to never turn off and the thermostat used to intermittently shut off. We made a service request through AHS and Same Day Air Conditioning & Heating were assigned for our request. They gave a 4 hour window for the technician to come out. The technician, Hashem Alhomady, called us to give a heads on his ETA and called us when he had arrived. He fixed all the issues and explained what was going on and addressed my concerns. He also advised on holding off on the refrigerant till the summer since he could not get the correct reading. He was wearing a mask at all times, ensured that he was using shoe covers at all times he was in the house and was very professional in his service. I simply mentioned the company that helped me where Sam's business didn't have the competency to realize the reason why my heater wasn't working was because of a malfunction in the gas regulator that PG&E maintains. Again, shouldn't that be the first place someone checks if they're a professional? Sam - rather than getting defensive, why don't you try and make your employees better or get them some basic training. Juan from Same Day Air was scheduled a day after I reported an issue to AHS, our home warranty. Diagnosed the issue on the first try (faulty capacitor), replaced it, and now AC is back on. Professional and good communicator. I was quite worried given my previous experience with MS Services, the company that handles AC repair for AHS in our area, for which Same Day Air seems to be a subcontractor, given that our experience in 2017 with them was awful, but this time I have to give credit where it's due. They arrived promptly for the appointment at close to 10am (it was scheduled 10am-2pm), and I got texts both when the appointment was confirmed, and when Juan was headed to my house. 5 stars from me this time, though I have to admit that it was a very simple issue to fix. This company was contracted through my insurance company. They were amazing. The first visit was to fix my heat. The second visit was to troubleshoot because it went out again. Same Day Air Conditioning recommended replacing my furnace. I spoke with Nate and he provided me all of the information as it relates to the issues with my furnace and provided and estimate and all recommendations for my insurance company. My insurance company was not the most efficient and Nate came to the rescue. He contacted my insurance company on a three way call and handled all of the logistics with the three of us on the phone so there was no misunderstanding. Several days later, the crew came out and they were phenomenal! They were friendly, professional and very effecient. They picked up all of their debris, trash, nails, etc. after they were finished. They even blew he remaining debris out of my garage. It is not often that companies these days provide such outstanding service at all levels. My 13-year-old Carrier furnace in the attic was very quiet when I bought my current residence three years ago, but began to make a constant buzzing noise two years ago that slowly grew in volume. It was annoying because the furnace intake is in a hallway close to my dining area. By this year, I could clearly hear the buzzing during every meal. From my online research, I suspected the furnace's transformer was wearing out, but at first it didn't seem too bad and I had other priorities. So the buzzing kept getting worse. Then one of my fire sprinkler cover plates fell off on April 7 this year. It turns out they are not user serviceable. I started shopping for contractors on Yelp for that issue and several others that I had put on the back burner, including the buzzing furnace. I am still looking for a fire sprinkler contractor. But at least my furnace is no longer buzzing thanks to Same Day! Their technician came on time, was very pleasant and polite, confirmed that the reason for the buzzing was the transformer, quoted a reasonable price, had the right replacement part with him, and was able to fix it immediately. I will definitely keep Same Day in mind for my HVAC repair needs in the future. read more
