It was difficult (using GPS) to find an open street leading to the Co-Op, but we managed. All the employees of the Co-Op were very friendly and commiserated with me about driving and parking. Even the customers were friendly and helpful. The Co-Op is the best place to go for groceries in Ashland. Check it out!

This would allow for a better product that justifies its price point, covers its own cost, and ultimately helps the company's bottom line while maintaining the quality standards this town deserves. I would recommend Sammich based on their sandwiches. Mine was very tasty. However, I will never patronize this establishment ever again. I gave my order to a person whose name I believe was Georganne (or something very similar). After the transaction was completed I said... "Thank you Hon" ....or I might have said "Thank you my dear". Either way she proceeded to tell me that her name was Georganne. It was not stated with kindness - but with attitude. I then told her "I am so sorry to have offended you" to which she replied "we are changing the landscape one paradigm at a time". I said nothing in reply. It is such a shame people must take this kind of an attitude when it is obvious and clear that someone is just being genuinely kind and trying to be relatable...especially now when our world is full of hard and difficult times. If you have a particular belief system, indeed stick up for your beliefs... but this is a sandwich shop, not a political forum. There is such a thing as being too politically correct, which I believe can totally dismiss human interaction and camaraderie. What could have been a wonderful new place to eat while visiting Ashland was completely ruined. read more

Michael Jordan is to basketball, as the famous Sammich Timbo is to the world of sandwiches. This traditional style Chicago cheese-steak is on point every single time. I was warned in-house you don't 'dunk it'... Chicago style is to get it soaking wet then go in for the kill. Yes ma'am. Michael Jordan probably wouldn't hate doing it Sammich style. ;) I have tried most things on the menu. I consider myself somewhat of a sandwich connoisseur and this place will be famous one day. The veggies local and the bread ALWAYS so fresh. Their specials are creative and have an artisan pizazz that makes my mouth water just reading them. I have to say I love Sammich! Today was the 6th time I have been there in 8 weeks, the day they opened. I have tried something different every time. Today I had the Salmon Sammich special. It was amazing! I have tried theTimChan, Chicago Italian Beef, Albacore Tuna, Turkey, Hammich and last but not least the Pastrami! Everything is such great quality and fresh! Thought maybe by ordering different Sammich's the chef might slip up and make something I didn't like. So far that has not happened. I highly recommend Sammich. I will be back. This place is INCREDIBLE! They are doing some huge things in this little spot. Melissa (the Owner) is a riot. She is hilarious, if you don't have a non-existent sense of humor. The staff is fun and relaxed, but Man, they pump out the best sandwiches, like they could do it in their sleep. They are ON IT. I can't recommend this place enough. This place is so passionate about their quality house smoked meats and local and house made ingredients! I got the Spicy Italian beef sandwich and homemade potato salad. It was gone in mere minutes! My wife got the burger with special Sammie sauce and was in heaven. Since I only had time for about one meal in Ashland, and there are so many interesting sounding places, it was hard to pick one. I chose Ruby's because there is a diner by the same name that I love in Santa Barbara. Also, the menu looked decent on Yelp. The chipotle chicken sandwich featured marinated dark chicken meat topped with fresh tomatoes, red onions, and coleslaw. The flavor of the chicken and the coleslaw was so bomb, and complemented each other perfectly. The bread was kind of like a small French roll. Very soft, fresh, and tasty. It didn't come with any sides, but the price was reasonable, and just the sandwich was enough for me. The inside of the restaurant was very small and cozy. I had planned to go outside when my food came up, but I was so hungry, and it looked so good, I ended up devouring it right there. I barely even had time to snap a pic of half of my sandwich at the "Forever Alone" booth where I was sitting. Staff was friendly and the ambiance was quirky but cute. As a plus, this is a great area to just walk around and explore all the local stores and scenery for a few hours or so. Would def stop by here again if there weren't a million other great sounding places to explore within a quarter-mile radius.
