Had Sunday brunch. We have vegan, vegetarian and omnivores in family. Sammy T's accommodates all of us. There are few(I think two) restaurants in Fredericksburg that have tofu scrambles on the menu- this is one. It was full of veggies and tofu and came with a side salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Very good! Highly recommend. Owner said it's available every Saturday and Sunday for brunch--just ask if you don't see it on the menu. read more

Very disappointed! Place looked great, cleaned up very nicely since the Emory's owned. But waited to be seated. Everyone was busy and didn't acknowledge us for a while. Seated 20 ft from where we stood (no biggie), but then waited a super long time to be acknowledged by the waitress. Ordered drinks and food. Reubens are usually corned beef ( we thought), this was warmed on the grill roast beef. Not what we wanted. Waitress was nice enough to ask to take it back but we were over it. Hummus was extremely runny. I have my "go to" things I always (used ) to get at Sammys cause it was always great! Not good. Ate 4 pieces of bread and left the rest. We had a group of 7 last Saturday night...we actually recommended Sammy T's to our neighbors who were celebrating a birthday. Everyone was glad we did...food was amazing. Service was friendly and professional. The Shrimp Po Boy was on point, with jumbo shrimp, coleslaw lettuce and tomato on a tasty roll. French dip disappeared so fast it was like a magic trick...Turkey Panini was also a big hit (must be those home made pickles), Birthday Boy enjoyed the Salmon w/couscous. Great food, reasonably priced. We've never had a bad meal come to think of it! It's a laid back, casual restaurant/bar that's suited for lunch and dinner. Highly Recommended. read more

A cute cafe will always be my choice over a chain. Me and my bf loved our meal- very tasty and fresh! One star off because of our server at the time of our visit came off a little rude towards me. We were done with our meal and were waiting for a water refill very thirsty. About 15 minutes later we were finally checked on, and as we asked for the bill, I kindly asked for a refill of water. Five minutes later she brings the bill so I nicely reminded her about the water. She responded in an annoyed tone and expression "when I get a chance." What felt like no less than ten minutes later she finally brought the water. I have been a server myself and am very understanding on being a little busy- but I would never say "when I get a chance" with a bothered vibe to a customer. I asked my boyfriend if it was just me or did it seem like she was sort of rude about it- and he agreed. So unfortunately we left a slightly lower tip than we normally would, but I mean- the server wasn't very nice at the end of our meal at all- So I guess it is what it is. It was pretty uncomfortable and it left me feeling a little bothered for several hours after we left. Overall, we will definitely be back because the food was delicious. read more

My husband and I decided to try this place out on a date night. We were a little hesitant when we saw a somewhat empty dining room but decided that could be a good thing. We were greeted by the bartender (who also happened to be the manager). He made me a custom drink and offered my husband a selection of beers they had on tap. I was surprised to see they had vegetarian, gluten free, seafood and meat items in the menu. A fairly decent selection to choose from. We shared some of the corn bread (which was delicious). We had the bean and grain sliders which were delicious as well! They haved decent portions. My wings were so generous that I was able to take some for lunch the following day. We're definitely going to go back and visit. I can't speak for what it's like in the summer, but it was a great first experience for us! read more

I highly recommend that you do NOT go here is time is of any value to you. It was not crowded and I sat at the bar, with only two other people and waited for 48 minutes for a hamburger. Just a Swiss / Mushroom, with everything on it, nothing special, no sides. Jason, the bartender was super helpful and managed to get me a drink just before happy hour closed, but whoever is running the kitchen has absolutely NO IDEA what he is doing. I am totally frustrated and finally just left, despite having already paid for the burger. I will NEVER eat here again. NEVER. Valentine's Day ruined. Went to celebrate Valentine's Day. Made reservations based on reviews on our vegan web site. When I called about reservations I was told there would be a special selection for the night which included vegan options. We arrived and were immediately assaulted with the loudest bad music/singer we've ever heard. Ordered two drinks while trying to decide what to order. Our waiters told us none of the special Valentine's Day items were vegan. We could order vegan burgers and a stir fry, but that wasn't what we were led to believe would be available. The noise was horrific. The singer was TERRIBLE. We paid for our drinks and left. We won't be back. read more

I adore Sammy T's. The food is amazing. My mom was on a vegetarian diet and was given a large amount of money in gift cards for this place. At her request, when she died I took the cards, so when I go visit her old home I always stop here afterwards. I NEVER look my best and I'm ALWAYS sad AF every time I come here, but the people are amazing, so attentive and pleasant; it's a huge pick-me-up and makes the hours-long drive home bearable. Made a reservation for 6. Showed up at 6 and was told they have given our table to another party of 6. The bartender implied it was because we had made our reservation online and that's always a problem, but I called to make it, and it was on the tablet the hostess was using. After 10 minutes said they would accommodate us in their party room. Had to go outside and around the corner to get to it. Waited 15 minutes and no one came. Decided to leave. On our way past the front of the restaurant the hostess saw us and asked if everything was okay. When we told her no one came to help us, she said they forgot we were there. Needless to say this was easily the worst service I've ever had. They called after we left to talk about it, but way too little and way too late. Be better. read more

Ok, so, I went to Sammy T's last night with two friends. One of my friends ordered a custom turkey and cheese sandwich. They messed it up. I understand that it was technically a custom sandwich, and mistakes will happen, so I wasn't upset, especially because they informed us of the mess up and fixed it, and someone who I assume was the manager came to apologize to us. Also, the plain turkey and cheese sandwich was listed on there receipt under a 13$ club sandwich, which became $14 because of the cheese. I got a gourmet burger with added cheese(cheese cost an extra $1.50), and I ended up only taking 1 bite, because it didn't taste very good, and it was an unpleasant texture(I ordered it medium). My friend took it home for their dad to eat instead. We both got food poisoning. Next, we ordered desserts. My friend ordered the chocolate mousse. Before we got the desserts, they gave us the checks, so we payed. They had all the prices split evenly between us, instead of us paying for our own food. After we payed, they came up to my friend and told them that they didn't have the chocolate mousse they ordered. The server implied that refunding us and having us pay again with the dessert voided would be a lot of effort(which is understandable for someone who is working as a server who's probably overworked and underpaid), so she suggested my friend choose a different dessert to get instead. They chose the vegan chocolate cake, which ended up being very dry and overall unpleasant, so it was left uneaten. Finally, I take a look at our receipts and start doing some math to calculate how much my friends and I need to pay each other so we end up paying for just our food and not everyone's split 3 ways. As I'm doing the math, I calculated how much they taxed us. It was approximately 17.2% of a tax. I mean, what??? Sales tax + meal tax is around 11%-12%, so how on earth did it get as high as 17%(this was before the tip was added)? That is absurd. The food is already too expensive for the quality, and now the tax is extremely high too? It's ridiculous. Tldr, 2 food mess ups, subpar food that's far too expensive for its quality/taste, an extreme tax, and then food poisoning the next day. Our experience was insanely awful, and I am never going there again. I hope this helps someone. read more

I had heard about this place from a couple of people and stopped in for a cold beverage after a day on the golf course. It's right downtown with street parking. We had a couple of Heffezien's which were great. We looked at the menu but it was 330p so we decided to wait on food till later. I ordered the hummus platter which was very fresh and good variety of veggies , plenty for 2 people. My friend got the adventurer which I was Abel to snag a bite & it was amazing . Sammy T's is a good spot to grab a meal. The burgers were excellent. They serve a large basket of fries which is enough foe two people. I love that they have a ton of Vegan options on the menu. The only issue I had was the wait at the bar. My friend and I sat at the bar for 10 minutes before we were acknowledged. Once we were waited on things went pretty smoothly. Not a good weekend for the unintentional foodie, I'm at 50% of good food for the long weekend. On Sunday we stopped in at Sammy T for a drink, the bartender was friendly but the Manhattan was not as good. I noticed that the drink was not measured for proportions and served in a wine glass filled with ice.
