The first time to Sammy's the guy at the counter bald head, glasses had a horrible attitude and I thought to myself maybe he's having a bad day didn't think to much of it and didn't say anything to him. He kept rolling his eyes and every question I had, made me feel more stupid than ever. after coming a few times after that, the attitude never changed. RECOMMENDED for Vacation Rental Guests and locals! The service is great, and can be very personable. They do get busy-so get there early. IT is a small staff, but that does keep the prices down. We have eaten there SEVERAL times, and can vouch for breakfasts and lunches. (We try to eat dinner at home! = P. ) Breakfasts are the best-deal if you like to eat out. Well where do I start... We ordered to eat there, and the prices are ridiculous for the amount of meat you get. The meat looked like some kind of pressed particle meat, not actual hamburger. They put so much sauce/ toppings on to mask the measly thing they call a hamburger. The onion rings tasted so plain. Not even sure what they used for breading. Then they didn't have ice for the drinks and she said she would go to QT to get some in 20 mins. When we got our meals they had put up a sign saying that they were out of ice. Restaurant name: Sammy's Burgers Judging Criteria: First appearance: Not bad, but not the best. The bun is cracked and dry, hinting that it is closer to stale than fresh. A lot of lettuce. The Patty is small compared to the amount of toppings. I can also see that that the surrounding paper is wet. Flavor: I can't taste the burger at all. It is all pickle and tomato. Just as I thought, the front of the bun is dry and stale which doesn't add to the flavor. The back half is slightly soggy because be of all the pickles. So. Many. Pickles. Meat to bun ratio: Terrible. The patty looks to be a small, premade patty. It is smaller than the bun and very thin. To compare to a fast food burger, it is between a McDonald's hamburger patty and a Quarter Pounder patty. Included extras (veggies / condiments): Lettuce, tomato, pickles, American cheese and Thousand Island dressing. Price: 4.99 Grade: D = Not good. It might be over cooked or the bun is stale. Came here to order a Chili Burger and onions were extra, but when I asked the girl: "what if I order a hamburger does it come with onions automatically?" her response was "Yes!". So what's the difference!!!!!! She couldn't answer me!!! At this rate Sammy's is getting greedy!!!! The times I've been there it's less and less busy. This place used to be busy! We got a burger and some wings from Sammy's. The burger was pretty good. This is definitely a burger place, not a chicken wing place. The wings were awful. Food took super long to be ready, but the staff was kind. I would not want to eat inside. It's dingy and a bit crusty. The strawberry shake I ordered was weird, but luckily didn't give me the runs....so, one full star for that also. I've been a (happy) customer of this locally owned restaurant for years. Don't have access to the account anymore but I left a 5 star review previously. I used to frequent this establish at least 4 times a year, will never do business with them again until the bald, self loathing cashier is no longer a part of their team. On two separate occasions, that bottom of the barrel, unskilled employee has made my experience terrible. I've been eyeballing this joint whenever I'd pass by. Finally tried it out for the first time today. I consider to be average. Not mind-blowing, yet not bad either. The taste and texture of the Burger used reminded me of the premade frozen patties that flare up on the grill, which I like anyway. It has that char-broil flavor. That's not a complaint, just part of my description. As for my Fries..I'd say they closely resemble the Fries you would get from a Fast Food Fish&Chips. Again, not complaining. The price was fair. $10.89 for a Double Cheeseburger Burger, Fries, Drink Combo. No Free Refills due to Covid, but the Foam cups they give are Large. The Menu itself has many options to choose from, which I was not prepared for, but impressed to see a Ribeye Steak Sandwich on there. Overall, I would suggest at least trying it out one time yourself. Everyone has different pallets and particular preferences. This place could get 4.5 stars for the food but the restaurant is what gets them a 1 star. very first thing the door is disgusting, finger prints all over the glass around the door handle. Upon entering the staff is standing by the counter on their phones. The order area is nasty with old pealing up menus tapped to the counter top, there is trash on the floor, the trash cans are filthy with ketchup on them, the AC is not on in the dinning area when its 0ver 100 degrees outside, the doors to the kitchen are all smudged up with greasy finger prints. This place needs to clean up the dinning area, with that being said who knows what the kitchen is like. Hopefully the owner will see this and get his restaurant in clean order to serve the public with a clean dinning experience. If the staff can stand around on their phones they could be cleaning windows and floors and everything else that goes with running a restaurant. read more

The workers there had no motivation to take our order and proceeded to tell us that all orders were to go...that it was something new that Sammy's just started AND...that the soft drink machine was out of order (as posted on the front door. I've been coming here for a couple of years and it's always been good, if you grew up in Southern California think: Steve's Burgers in Hemet or Angelo's Burgers in Oceanside. Its that super specific taste that you get at the mom and pop burger places that imbeds itself into your burger hierarchy near the top. Ordered a double patty burger with bacon and all the fixings plus fries. One word. DAMN! It was a really good tasty burger. It wasn't greasy, the bun was excellent, the veggies were fresh and it had a real good taste to it. And being on Estrella Parkway, it's close to home. Sammy's Burgers had caught my eye many times but never really stepped inside. Yesterday night on Sunday November 24th, at 6:21pm was when I made the phone call to place an order. My family and I decided burgers sounded pretty good, and Sammy's seemed to have a good variety of food items on their menu. We had been home all day, my whole household was feeling under the weather and it was just convenient for us as we were not feeling physically well enough to drive a far distance.. within the first 5 seconds of the call I automatically could tell the man who answered was not having it.. as someone who has not ordered or been here before I would strongly suggest not having him answer the calls because of how extremely rude and condescending he is on top of being unhelpful/rude when asking a simple question and he answers as if you're stupid or don't know what you're talking about. Initially asking him at the beginning of the phone call, do you take phone orders he very rudely cuts me off and says "what do you want". I proceed to start giving him my order again cuts me off very rudely, he is snickering and laughing in the background of every sentence I am telling him don't know if he had my call on speaker and was using me as a joke amongst him and other employees but again as someone who has not ordered here before this was all very frustrating and caused so much anxiety. Any question I asked was answered by a mocking response and very bad attitude or as if I should know the answer to it. When finally repeating back my order he customized the meals I got because according to him if im not getting a certain item on it then why put it down as what I want rather than just a regular cheeseburger with added items on it, I understand to a certain extent but at the end of the day like I said from the first 5 seconds he answered he was very rude and condescending and just not making the ordering process helpful or easy at all.. so when he repeated back these items and I asked why he put it down that way rather than what I asked he proceeded to laugh and talk smack about me under his breath and say that usually customers are very understanding and don't have a problem it. That's fine and cool but AGAIN the initial impression that I got wasn't one where I was comfortable with the employee and I ended the call with telling him he was very rude and unprofessional I asked him what was funny and he proceeded to laugh. As someone who sounds to be welll over 40 working at a burger joint I guess I could understand the crappy attitude but if you don't like where you work you shouldn't be taking orders as you may be the one to make a first impression on a potential new customer. Word of mouth is a very powerful thing that can bring in lots of new business or keep you from it and that is something that you should have in mind. Thank you for making our experience absolutely dreadful I'll be sure to warn my family and friends about the poor training in customer service that the employees who work here seem to get. I would really look into who took a phone order at 6:21pm on Sunday November 24th for the sake of this business. Sad and unfortunate but I will never step foot here. If I could rate 0 stars I would. I have eaten here multiple times over the past 2 years but I was highly disappointed Thursday night. My daughter, fiancé, sister and I went here as we have many times. The food takes forever now. Usually 20-30+ minutes. My beef dip sandwich melt was cold and the cheese wasn't melted. The fries were lukewarm. Overall, really disappointing as I know they have been better in the past.
