Fat Tomato Pizza is a new addition on the Westside, and a good one. There are a few tables inside and out but I consider it more of a take-out or delivery place. We ordered an extra large vegetarian pizza and it was enough for 3 hungry people. The crust was thin and a little crispy, and the sauce wasn't too salty like a lot of pizza sauces are. There are so many pizzerias serving higher quality pizzas at that price point (Pizzeria Sei, Lodge Bread, Ghisallo and Pizzana - to name a few). For NY-style pies, I'd rather go to Prime Pizza, where an 18" pizza is $20-$30 vs. Fat Tomato's 16" pizza at the same price point. On the positive side, the restaurant is clean and the woman that works here is very nice. Plus they have dumplings! Free parking in the lot. read more

It is pouring cats and dogs as I jumped into Fat Tomato Pizza to try their GF pizza, which is excellent. I did not get the memo of this downpour. I am woefully unprepared. I have searched the planet for the best gluten-free pizza and I've tried some incredible gluten-free pies in the last five years after suffering through parakeet food and cardboard pizza for 15 years.
