These guys are awesome! We had a Lobster/Clambake party at the house that people are still raving about. The staff was super friendly, easy to deal with, and did a great job of setting up and cleaning up once done. Clam chowder was among the best I've had, Lobster and Clams were delicious and cooked to perfection, and all the sides/trimmings were great too. I've had lobster roll before and I've been disappointed. Theirs was definitely the best I've ever had. I'd recommend that you try. OMG! I went to the city yesterday with some friends and we got hungry and tried to decide where to eat. It just so happened that "Off The Grid" was there! I ordered the shrimp po boy with fries and was my mouth fell in LOVE! My friends also each took a bite of this awesome burger and said that I had ordered the best meal hands down! I soo low ratings and I wonder why that is the case. The only reason this place is not getting a fifth star from me is because I have only tried one dish and I want to be fair. ps. my friend even knocked my food out my hand as soon as I got it and the chef was extremely nice about making it again. read more

Heard about chowdermobile from a genentech friend who said the truck parks outside their grand ave. office every day. We found the truck behind the band shell in GG park and decided to try the fish tacos and the lobster roll. Soft bun drizzled in butter and topped with giant sized chunks of fresh lobster and minced celery. Very tasty and a fair price at $16.50. The roll is plenty for two . The fish tacos featured two flash fried corn tortillas, chunks of flaky fried fish and a mango salsa that was a perfect compliment. Very tasty. Definitely a great option in the park, tables outside the food truck grouping allow one to enjoy the fine weather while munching on some upscale fare. We checked the website and made a special trip to Golden Gate Park for a lobster roll. Website says they open at 11:30. At 12:10 we had stood there, hungry and ignored, for more than 40 minutes. The employees inside could see us out there. At around noon, a guy came out and fussed with the condiment containers. He did not make any apology nor did he even acknowledge the folks waiting around with puzzled looks on our faces. We called the number on the side of the truck, and were told the people who answered the phone have nothing to so with the truck. My question is, who does, if not the people whose number appears no fewer than 4 times on the truck? And my next question is, why would we stand around waiting for these rude jerks to do us the great favor of accepting $16.17 for a sandwich? I can't recommend it, sorry. read more

Had the shorty (smaller version) lobster roll at this truck this past weekend at la nebbia winery in half moon bay. Very impressed with the amount of lobster meat but nothing else was impressive about this roll. The bread wasn't very fresh and the lobster was not flavorful. This does not hold a candle to Boston lobster rolls! For almost $11, I definitely expected better especially given the popularity of the restaurant. Unfortunately I didn't try anything else. After this experience, am a bit skeptical about getting anything else from the food truck but am looking forward to eating at one of their physical locations. read more

The shortie lobster roll gives you a decent amount of lobster, but it is so incredibly under seasoned. Give me some salt or spice or anything with flavor, really. All you taste is the buttered bread. First cup of chowder I had since arriving in SF. They were parked across from the Japanese Tea Gardens.. My girlfriend and I got 2 cups of chowder and a bottle of coke to share for $13. The truck was recently in Foster City at 3000 East third Avenue. We have no food serv ice out here, so it was appreciated that they came out. However, the $11 shortie lobster roll was horrible. Rubbery, no seasoning, and certainly did not taste like lobster. I stopped eating it. The clam chowder was pretty good. But the lobster roll was so bad I had to give only one star. read more

I've enjoyed the food at the restaurant in Half Moon Bay multiple times. Just had the fried fish tacos from the truck in Redwood City, and they were awful. Forget the fact that there were a ton of bones in the fried fillets, the real sin was the awful flavor of pretty much everything in the dish.
