I absolutely love the Sam's Club, but I'm specifically reviewing the gas station for this Sam's Club. First of all every single time I come here on the weekend there's absolutely no line and I'm not really sure why. The gas is super cheap. There's no waiting and there's always a gas attendant here. I definitely cannot say this about the other Sam's Club's. I've been to including the ones in Illinois. Further the computer on the gas pump you're actually normally reads your card, but also says your name on the screen, which is quite advanced if you ask me. So I'm very appreciative of this. I am most definitely appreciative of the fact that this pump station is actually only set up with one pump rather than doubling up. Which obviously means less people being serviced, but it also means more visibility, especially when they aligns. Definitely coming back here again how we're looking forward to checking out the other Sam's Club's in the Indianapolis area. read more

I have done pick up 3 times total and every single time it has been a 40min wait for groceries that said were ready!!!!!!! The point was to not go in the store! This is not my normal Sams club, but was in the area so decided to stop to get some quick items and ordered a pizza around 7:20 pm. Got in and was told to grab my order from the new heated station. I thought this was to a easier way to get your pickup order. Looked at the pizza he said to grab, it had no name and a time processed of 3:09 pm with a 6:40 pm time written on the box. Not sure if the 6:40 time was the "expired" time or what. To not have a pizza freshly made after ordering a whole one is concerning. Who wants food that has been sitting for hours? I previously had a membership at this Sam's Club but was disappointed in the roses that I was purchasing every weekend for my wife, so I decided to get a membership at BJ's Wholesale. I didn't care for their products or roses at all so I decided to switch back to Sam's Club. The process was not hard at all and Melvina helped me get right back to my normal shopping in a quick manner. Her customer service is outstanding and I am grateful that she took care of me. While they are low on stock of certain items due to current situations and supply ( some items are currently limited to the amount you can buy for example toilet paper) we were fortunate to find some. I hadn't shopped at a Sam's Club for several years, I usually shop Costco twice a month and I'm happy with it. But, I reveal offer for a $45 gift card with purchase of a $45 membership, and in addition my credit card offered a $20 rebate. So with a net gain of $20 I thought I would give it a try. First impressions: this is not Costco, rather more like a big Walmart. It seemed disorganized, and some aisles had fork trucks with product to be stocked blocking the way. Also, much of the merchandise seemed to be poorer quality. There aren't many name brand products as most are Member's Mark. What surprised me most was that many of the prices were higher than Costco prices for the same product. The one department I liked was fresh produce. The prices here were good and the produce looked fresh. However, some was very short-dated so you need to be aware and check the "best by" dates on everything. Check out was fast because there are many self- check lanes. However the line to get out the door was long because only one employee was checking receipts, and she had to re-scan several items in each cart. This was a slow process, and I shopped on a weekday morning. I can imagine the line would be longer and slower on a Saturday. So I gave it a try, but I will be returning to Costco for my shopping. read more

I shop at the 96th street location in Indianapolis weekly. The employees who work there have got to be the most unfriendly staff I have ever encountered. I can only assume they hate their jobs, in which case, hire someone who wants to work. Cashiers act like they do not want to be bothered, they don't speak, they shove your items to the end of the register and then watch you while you load your cart. They move at a snail's pace. You have to pull off your own receipt and not so much as a thank you, have a good day. I have worked retail myself the past 5 years and would never treat customers like they treat theirs. You could certainly learn something from Costco. This will be the last year for my membership. read more

Ok hear me out!!! For $14 these tacos are so good and so easy!!! The chicken has great flavor the 2 sauces are both really good. My set came with 12 tortillas we didn't use them all. We stuff tacos way too full. It's the perfect easy and delicious meal. Cheap too! I heat the chicken and tortillas on the stove top because that's how I like my tortillas cooked but they can be microwaved. I would say it feed 3 if that's all you are eating, 4 if you add a side. read more

Sam's club bakery really disappointed us today! We ordered the below cake..... well we did not order it to look like that. We arrived to pick it up and there were no decorations on the cake. When we ordered it, we asked them to "make it beautiful because he is turning 18." When we arrived, it only had the words on it. We shared our disappointment and they added something on each side, however beautiful it was not. The color scheme was also incorrect. We're very sad at the outcome and even more disappointed at the attitude that was displayed by the staff. Unfortunately, we had to take it because time was of the essence. read more

I don't really shop at Membership clubs and gave Sams Club a shot. Prices are great. There are many perks which is also great. However, it is really hard to find anything at this store. It's huge and it doesn't have enough signs. For some reason paper towels are in one corner with food but toilet paper is next to drinking water. Pet food is next to TVs and fresh produce is across from household chemicals. Makes no sense to me. In the end, you need to buy a few things and end up spending an hour of your life wondering in this labyrinth of despair. I'd rather pay a bit more on Amazon without wasting my time searching for things, driving, and dealing with crowds. The checkout was super slow and I also couldn't find anyone to help me locate items at the store. Would not recommend. read more

Today's visit, I felt like they were missing some of my staples but it appeared they may have replaced them with a different version of the same item. I have been going to Sam's Club since it started in Indiana, and a member at its predecessor prior to that. They have been undergoing a lot of changes in the last few years. With the location closer to my house closing, and several other Indy locations as well, 96th st has become far more busy. I do like the self check out stations (even though some guests have problems using them). There are good and some great deals to be had on various items through the store. On this visit I came for a new car battery. I was third in line at the tire and battery counter and had to wait around 15 minutes to get to the counter and place my request. The man that helped me was very polite and helpful. He asked his co-worker for a time estimate and he let me know that he could get it done right away and would call me on my cell phone when it was ready to go. I grabbed a cart and went shopping in the store. My experience with the tire and battery center deserves a four star for their great service and attitude. Over all for Sam's club they get a three star rating due to the experience, lack of employees in the store wearing their masks correctly, as well as some customers in the store not wearing masks correctly or at all. I did find great deals on some art supplies, grocery items, and clothing. And a new car battery of course! read more

8/6/18: We came in today to purchase & activate 2 new iPhone 8s for my account - one of which was a new line to the account. Everything went smoothly until we found that the Sam's computer program had not been updated to show the service access charge is $20. Instead of that, the Sams program showed $40?per month! I know it was wrong. The CSR knew it was wrong & said as much. It turns out Sam's Corp has not updated the software! This software prints out the LEGAL AGREEMENT which customers SIGN!! (Not me!). New software was available more than 12 months ago! SO WHY HAVE THEY NOT FIXED A KNOWN PROBLEM? OK SAM's. FIX THIS! (Before I buy my next new phone later this year!) 4/28/18: Watch you receipt. Instant savings are supposed to come off at the end of the order but don't always do that. Also was surprised to have my card charged for a bill greater 100 without my signature (which it had asked for). I did not intend to sign till the corrections were completed. So they fixed my order but not their programming. I wonder how many other customers will miss the advertised Instant Savings? I have had many good experiences here but this trip was not. You can never go wrong with Sam's Club if you like shopping in bulk. I joined Sam's club this year based on a annual special sale they had going on where if you purchased a membership, you received a $45 gift card, which basically is a free membership. I went today to pick up a few things and unfortunately I could not find what I was looking for and there was no staff around to help me. I went to separate carts in the entrance of the store to grab a cart, and no one helped me separate the carts from each other. One staff member just stood there and watched me and did not bother to offer me assistance. Other than that, my shopping experience was great. The snack bar is always great, because you get good for a great price. The prices are very reasonable at Sam's Club for shopping in bulk, so that is a huge advantage for getting a membership. As long as there are more staff available on the floor to assist customers, then Sam's club could be a better place to shop, but I'm not going to get my hopes up just yet. read more

We bought a package of pork chops that had a few on the top that looked great but it turned out they were hiding some pieces of pork that looked they had been cut by a kindergartner using blunt paper scissors. Overall Sam's is pretty good albeit not quite Costco but I would avoid this location. read more

I'm new to the warehouse club scene but so far I'm not super impressed other than the savings I get for buying a few items in bulk. I never really need the quantity that they sell in so I typically wait till I'm absolutely in need of something to go to Sam's (toilet paper, paper towels, dog food, alcohol). The crowds are typically stressful and waiting in line to get gas is almost not worth it. I've been underwhelmed with the samples and the workers don't seem to be very happy to be working there. I'm glad they finally put in self checkout scanning lanes because it could take forever waiting in line. read more

Compared to Costco a few blocks away, this has a run down feeling and look to it. The employees aren't as friendly. I do like that they have the buy online pick up in store option. Well just wanted to say this business almost every time we have been to this store the coolers and freezers are leaking water and need worked done to them....the service desk people refused to take a paper shredder back because it just stopped working....it was there own brand Members Mark and we have to go through the manufacture???? So I guess they don't back up their own products....and it was over 90 days....well we will only be purchasing gas and water cooler bottles. The water cooler only uses certain bottles and you can't get them anywhere but Sams Club so we will not buy anything that is their brand. read more

We place pickup orders frequently, and usually everything is alright, but the last month has been a nightmare. Items paid for and missing, damaged items, spoiled items (twice), and most recently a cake that was ordered for pickup and it was not ready. They didn't even try to make it right, nor apologize. It was for an important birthday party, and their mistake left us scrambling trying to find a place that could make one quickly. Fortunately, Costco rose to the challenge. Even after they were technically closed, they decorated a cake for us, and gave us half off because of Sam's mistake! We just canceled our membership for ourselves and both businesses. Also filed a complaint with the BBB, and AG's office. We all make mistakes, but repeated failures and disdain for the most basic customer service, will not be tolerated. Most of the staffers are very nice, but the bakery? They need additional training. read more

Sam's Club is my go to for buying in bulk, having events and needing something quick for a get together. Although they've closed many locations, I'm thankful there's still one close by my home. Parking is always a challenge for me here but people are always coming in and out so eventually a spot comes open. Nothing like waiting to the last minute to pick up items for a get together. As I maneuver my way through all the samples being offered and the people, I find what I need. I needed something sweet so I got cookies and a couple of extra gifts for the hostess. I like how organized the store is but if you need assistance with anything...there's no one to be found. One innovative thing they did is allow you the option to scan and go and I love it!!! But before your home free, you still have to stand in line to get your receipt checked. read more

I was turned away at the door at 0952, despite explaining I had to use the restroom, because I didn't have a Plus Membership. That's fine. I waddled to the line out front to wait 8 minutes. 1004 comes and they finally open the doors. They immediately ask to see my membership card, which they haven't done in the 5 years I've had a membership. I pull up the app with my card and ask why I was being told to show identification, as I've never been asked to since I've had a membership, upon entering. The woman who opened the doors to 50 people 4 minutes late responds robotically, "when entering a private club, you always wear a mask and show your card." I responded politely that I've never had to before. Just because I'm 28 years old doesn't mean I'm trying to scam you... I do not intend to renew my membership with Sam's. There customer service and response is quite poor. After being at work and on call at the hospital for 48 hours, a simple bathroom break and a quick trip was all I was asking. I'm a baby mamma and am always in need of diapers/wipes. Sams club has great prices for these bulk items. We usually go about one time every 3 months and are never disappointed. Shopping here is like a theme park for adults! Two things I noticed this time that made my experience worth while. 1.) they have a freebie dispenser. If you put in your SAMs club card, you get the freebie that is being promoted. Last time it was a cereal bar and this time it was a rice crispy treat. They used to give out samples but this is really cool for a nice snack. So kudos! 2.) I went thru the speedy check out lane with no sales person. Basically I scanned everything on my own and this made the process super quick! I will be returning! read more

It's your typical Sam's Club. If you are looking to purchase items in bulk, i.e. meat, candy, soft drinks, cereal, etc., this is the place for you. Plus, if your hungry, you could walk around and make a free meal out of the samples that they provided. I will say that one of the sections of this store is the alcohol aisle. Beer, wine, and Spirits, they have it all. They also have an electronics department that features TVs, games, movies, and phones. The middle of the store is geared towards jewelry, clothing, and books. It is also in this section that you will find seasonal goods, and tempting items that you don't/shouldn't need, but you are strangely drawn too. As always, Sam's Club is members only, so either purchase a membership or find a friend who has a membership. Also, cash or debit is only accepted, unless you have the Sam's Club branded card. I would also recommend looking closely at the prices, as you may spend more than you would at a regular store when items are on sale. Also some of the prices have gone up, i.e. some brands of bottled water. **As always, the weekends tend to be packed and the checkout lines can be long. read more

I am typically not into buying large quantity items. Because I was planning and hosting a dinner party, I was looking for some deals. Some ingredients were cheaper here such as salt and sugar. However, if you have coupons, I would recommend going to a regular store. I found the best things I like about Sam's Club was their fruit and vegetable were much better in quality for the added cost than grocery stores. Also, they carry good slices of fresh short ribs. Also, I believe during the lunch hours on the weekend, Sam's Club has people on the floor giving out various samples to try throughout the club. Just as good as COSTCO, but this place had fireworks. And not the ones that fizzle like Safe & Sane, but the ones that go B O O M that are illegal in Cali. I got about 400 individual fireworks for just under $100 bucks. It's so nice to be in another state for the 4th of July. My experience at Sam's has always been great! It's a great way to shop at cheaper prices for bulk that will last you longer than your typical stop at the grocery. There are also different/better cuts of fresh meat (in my experience, beef) in their store than your typical grocery store. Most recently my dad and I bought some huge bone-in cowboy cut ribeyes and they were glorious! They're definitely more expensive, but when celebrating they are an amazing buy. On top of all of their in store benefits (prices, bulk, etc) a membership at Sam's is well worth it when each gas stop is used at their gas station. The last time I bought gas from them I saved $0.23 per gallon. I definitely would recommend considering a membership to Sam's Club. The gas prices alone make it worth it to me. read more
