Ive been here twice now and both time, their burgers have been pretty consistent. The first time I did take out and got the chicken teriyaki chicken with a lettuce wraps and it was cooked perfectly. I like that the lettuce gives a nice crunch and the flavor was spot on. The second time around, I decided to take my boyfriend there since he was craving for burgers and we dined in. We got the 50/50 Burger and the veggie burger with a lettuce wrap and a side salad instead of fries. Again, both burger was cooked perfectly. The 50/50 Burger Definitely hit the spot when you are craving for a burger. We did like the veggie burger more though as it was different from most veggie burgers. The texture and flavor was good and again the crisp lettuce brought it to a new level. The unlimited fries are ok, the flavor was good but I wish it was crispier. The wedge salad was good but I wish I knew I was getting a wedge salad as my side cause I would ask to have the dressings on the side Price was pretty standard for what you get. I would give them 6 stars if I could, seriously. I went with some coworkers for happy hour, and it being a chilly day, I was being extra and asked for a hot toddy. The waitress was very friendly and said they could make it. It took them longer than usual to make my drink compared to everyone else, but it ended up being delicious. It turns out they didn't have any honey in stock, and the bartender ran to CVS to buy it! A+ customer service right there. There is an employee here by the name Sydney who steals cards and information from the customers. I was also assaulted by this employee when I confronted her. Then the manager is extremely unprofessional and confrontational when the situation was brought to her attention. She also called me to tell me they found my card 5 days later but I cannot get it because they will call the police. I never threatened anyone. I wanted my card back. Yet they claimed I threatened the employee ha! I wouldn't risk everything I have going for myself for a 40 year old bartender who has to steal from customers. We sat down, took a quick look at the menu and ordered a burger and salad. I was shocked at how small my husbands burger was. I mean it was smaller than a McDonald's cheeseburger. It was definitely photo-worthy, but I was distracted by work, I guess. It was worth the price and I would get it again. Jalapeño Reno burger was better than the chili cheeseburger. The chili isn't bad, but it's not spicy, either, and wasn't particularly memorable. You do get a lot of it on your burger, though. Service is so-so. It started off pretty bad (no acknowledgment whatsoever for at least 10 mins, even though it was dead; I was actually about to leave when I was finally approached). It got better as time went on. I could not be more disappointed by the lack of service and attention from the server with the long blond hair that waited on us this evening. Not only was the food mediocre at best, the server did the absolute bare minimum that was required of her. We were never offered a refill on our weak and overpriced drinks. We had to ask for silverware from the food runner, and our server ignored every attempt I made to get her attention so we could get our check and get out of there. Very poor experience overall. First experience was about 3.5 stars since I had decent service, but the burger wasn't that great. However, they do have good fries which are bottomless so that takes the Sting out of the $14 price tag. If all you want is ambiance, they do have a nice patio and a decent atmosphere. They did have many burnt out lights in the various string lights hanging from the ceiling, which to me shows a lack of focus from management on the details, or that they're going for the "neglected hipster bar" look. I'm not sure which... Next time I went, we waited and waited but were never even greeted by the bartender. Given that we were seated at the bar and that she passed by us multiple times, I'm bringing my review down to a solid 2 stars. Their happy hour menu is not really apparent... You have to know it's there. They don't really advertise it or tell you about it before you order, so I'm guessing they prefer to maximize their profit over your customer service. I'm going to hop right in. This place is probably much better than my review, but I have to judge them based on my experience. Came here for a work sponsored event. I wasn't sure if it was going to be an open menu, but it ended up being a buffet style catering. We had sliders, chicken strips, chips, salsa, guacamole fries, they may have even been something seafood related, I'm not sure since I don't eat seafood. Honestly, the food was pretty good. The sliders tasted like quality beef. The chicken was above average, but it should have been brined, with more flavor it would have been top shelf. Fries were decent, but I am going to assume they weren't crisp because they were sitting around waiting for the tray to be full. The big surprise was the guacamole. It was hands down some of the best I've ever had, so either they have a secret recipe, or someone has perfected food service guacamole, because this was a flavor explosion. In true hindsight, the food was a B and had it been made fresh for me, I'd probably bump it up to an A. In general, the menu here is simple and that works, as long as your food is tasty, you don't need to have pages and pages. Perfect what you got and serve as much as you can. All in all I'd come back, but only by invitation. There are places I like better for burgers, chicken and Mexican, so I'd rather have the best then return to the rest. The place was pretty packed but we managed to find 2 end bar seats as soon as we walked in. The bartender asked what we wanted to drink and gave us food menus right away. I'm such a sucker for anything with eggs, so of course, I ordered their Eggs Broadway Burger. It comes with white Vermont cheddar, bacon, fried egg, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. My bf ordered the Aloha Burger, which comes with their burger marinated in teriyaki sauce, grilled pineapple, swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. He also asked that his fries come extra crispy. I was expecting to have the same quality burger as Red Robin. But to my surprise, the burger patty texture and taste was like it was homemade! I'm an average sized Asian girl, so I don't normally eat a ton of food. But I cleaned up my burger and my fries that night! If you're like me and love burgers, I highly recommend Sam's Tavern. When dialed, SLU's number says, "your call cannot be completed at this time." When dialed, Capitol Hill's number rings and rings and eventually goes to a voicemail box that is full. When dialed, Bellevue's number says, "the call cannot be completed at this time." Even the chat feature on their website says, "Failed!! Try again," when you try to contact the restaurant. This was my first visit to a Sam's Tavern but I can say I will certainly visit again! This location is easy to find and street parking was available and free on a Friday at 6pm. The place was busy, packed actually but our group had a reservation. I would guess that a reservation is a good bet for any night at the South Lake Union location! Natalie was our server and she was great. She made sure our large group had plenty of space and was always around at the right time. Service was quick and I never had an empty drink. We ordered some bites off the happy hour menu which offered a nice variety of options. I had the BLT and my husband got the burger. Neither comes with fries but they are both just $7 so you can order them separate if you want! My sandwich was awesome and my husband said his burger was delicious too. I have to say I was a little hesitant on how this place would be considering how busy it was but everything was just right. I was even impressed with how clean the restroom was on such a busy night! Sam's...a surprisingly good pub! I've visited Sam's on a few occasions for lunch and happy hour, but today for a mix of happy hour and dinner. The group of ya arrived just before happy hour ended to grab some discounted drinks and apps. We chose this place specifically because it was dog-friendly and it was very friendly! The waitress loved our dogs and it was so nice to be in an establishment where we didn't have to worry about leaving them at home. I ordered the mandarin chicken salad and my hubby got the chicken tender burger. My salad was absolutely the silent winner, fresh veggies and grilled chicken. I could not have been happier. The chicken burger was good and came with bottomless fries. The staff doesn't push the bottomless fries, so you definitely need to ask for more. We also came on Tuesday because on their website it says that they have a Trivia Night. Not sure if it was just the small crowd or it was cancelled, but we were a little disappointed that it didn't happen. Thank goodness for good friends, food, and drinks.
