The music here was amazing!! It brought memories of my college dance class days! The environment is fun hipster vibe and the food was amazing! They have a full bar so you can order away! I ordered the chicken tender sandwich with aioli sauce, it was so crispy and the chicken just melted in my mouth. Literally one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. I ate the whole sandwich!! I never eat my whole sandwich, I usually get full but I just couldn't stop. I mean we did just fly in, but I still know the sandwich was superior. They have bottomless fries and water is available on your table. My husband ordered the vegetarian burger, which he never does so I was surprised. He really enjoyed it and maybe now he'll get more vegetarian meats from his experience. We both got a drink, my usual pineapple and rum. My husband ordered a old fashion. They were enjoyable. Came here with the exception that it's going to be full of unhealthy bar food, which I was right. Great venue for celebrations as the establishment is spacious. On weekends, they have a DJ which I love hearing hood music. The food selection of course had to suffer, but at least they let us bring in our own cake which was the best part of my meal that evening. Don't waste your time with this place. Go to Thomas Street Warehouse instead. We were told to try out Sam's and I really wanted to like it but I had to actually walk out on my server and leave cash on the table for my bill because I hadn't seen our waitress, or any other staff, in over 20 minutes. That is absolutely ridiculous. First, we had to sit at a dirty table for somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes before a server came up and asked if anyone had come and greeted us. Obviously our answer was no, and then she said someone would be with us soon. A waitress finally comes and we order drinks and it took forever. That part, I understand is not the waitresses fault, so I'll let it slide. But once our drinks finally arrived, she never returned to check on us; not to ask how it was, not to ask if we wanted food, not to ask if I wanted another drink, or even to ask if I wanted the check. I waited probably 20 minutes with NO CONTACT from any employees and then walked out. This review is for Bloody Mary's only. Sam's claims to have won the best Bloody Mary on their Website. I am really not sure exactly how that happened... We got the regular Mary, not the deluxe that apparently has a slider on top. I don't do gluten so that wasn't an option for me. The bartender came outside and took our order, we were the only diners on the patio at that point. A few minutes later they were delivered. This was a big glass of tomato juice with a whole lot of raw garlic chunks. Garnished with one Spanish olive and a lime wedge. Seriously, I felt like I was drinking a tonic to ward off vampires. Soooo much raw garlic to the point that were strategizing how to possibly use the lime wedge as a possible filter (That was a bad idea). Where were the usual spices and Bloody Mary flavors? Sadly I could not even finish my cocktail. And we both felt terrible after. The two stars are for the outdoor patio with the beautiful sunshine, and the good Covid 19 measures. Conveniently located in SLU for all the Amazonian's out there. Right outside of Brazil. Needless to say, you're bound to run into people you know, especially after work around HH. Definitely a great place to enjoy the sunshine and drink a couple beers on their outdoor picnic tables. The staff were efficient and very on top of it. They have a great grub/appetizer selection and pretty good choices of draft beers - especially if you enjoy IPAs. The music was great if you enjoy dancing. We went in to Sam's Tavern for an hour and a half lunch break. We walked in and saw a sign that says "sit yo self" my group decided to find a booth next to the window. We waited about 10min before we were notice and we got waters and one coke. The server said she will brb with the coke. 10min pass and we got nothing. We were waiting to put in an order and 10min pass and we did not get helped at all.... She finally came to us 50min later and asked if we gotten help and we told her no.... Nobody helped us! Y'all be careful here. A group of us went here last Friday to celebrate my friend's birthday. Everything was fine until the end of the night. I was the DD and honestly I'm thankful we had one of us sober. It was last call, we were all gathering up, and one of the servers came up and rubbed the birthday boys arm (assuming to be flirty with her job and remind us to leave). Him being in a committed relationship, and drunk, told her to get off him. At this point, the server snapped back at him, to which his girl friend then got up to catch up to her and angrily asked why she was touching her boyfriend then snapping at him when he didn't want her touching him. I was there telling my friend it isn't worth it to argue, her job is to be flirty, but then server ended up dropping a slur saying "get these n****** out of here". Once our crew caught wind of what was said we all were loud questioning why she said that. We collectively agreed to leave, all of us angry and bothered by the comment though. Until the last two of us were heading out and a different server was upset over the interaction having to get us out.. and HE PUNCHES ONE OF OUR GUY FRIENDS IN THE BACK OF HIS HEAD AS HES WALKING OUT AND KNOCKED HIM OUT ON THE GROUND. A fight obviously then broke out, I broke it up, and got everyone out of there. Three days later, the two guys that were last out went back to try and speak with the manager (who wasn't present) but the workers said "The story is made up and that didn't happen. There are no cameras here to show footage" Just a reminder to be safe, stay cautious of where you go, but definitely don't go here with friends because they will drop racial slurs, punch your head from behind, then they'll all claim it never happened. read more
