Where do I begin? As locals, this is our favorite place for lunch. It's a family owned winery and bistro where you can get great breakfast and lunch food. I know that people come from all over to San Antonio so this is not a closet treasure. The food is good no matter what you get. Pizza, pasta, appetizer, none will disappoint. They have a children's menu too so bring the kids. Oh and they have wine too. The people who work here will treat you like family. Tony will come by and check to see that everything is on point. He really cares if you're having a good time. Such a cozy little place by the fire place with great food and wine! I was a little hesitant about this place at first but quickly changed my mind once we had their food. The service is on point, super friendly, informative, and professional. We also had the honor of meeting the restaurant manager who had reassured us about their food and was super helpful in helping us with our food choice. He did recommend the tri tip that was phenomenal, a must get! We loved everything and will definitely be back! We did leave with some wine! read more

I so enjoying my guided wine tasting with a personal charcuterie at the Riboli Family Winery. While not a wine expert, I am fascinated by the wine making process and the variety of wines that are produced. The price for this wine tasting experience was a wonderful value. This was a wonderful stop on our drive through Paso Robles. All of the staff were welcoming, friendly, and just seemed like nice people. You can tell they care for each other and about keeping the ambience warm and inviting. It is festively decorated for the holidays inside the market and dining/tasting areas. We tried the Festive holiday tasting and sweet Stella Rosa tasting. Our bartender/sommeliers were all great. I love sweet wines so it was great to try some of their unique offerings. We also decided to share a pizza after seeing other groups ordering it. It was soo flavorful and satisfying! Definitely check out this place if you are in the area. Funny way of doing business. Walked in the front door of the gift shop and was greated by "HI, are you having lunch with us? Would you like a tasting flight? I'll take your $125 order and you pay for it now." I ordered Linguini with clams and bruschetta for an ap. My wife had Chicken Picatta and olive tappenade. Entrees arrived before appetizers. When I asked about the aps the waiter said "we do things differently here". Linguini was tasty but the dish was more clam shells than anything else. Bruschetta had absolutely no flavor. read more

I had eaten lunch here before, so decided to bring some out of town friends along this time. Once again, a delicious lunch. I had their Shrimp Salad, husband had their Paso Panini and friends had their Meatball Sandwiches. Really good bottle of their Chardonnay. If your interest truly lies with providing good/pleasurable dining experiences, you should personally eat (not just taste) a good portion of all items on your menu. Something as simple as a BLT and fries just is not that difficult. Also, since one big impression visitors get when catering to your restaurant involves your greeters/employees, you should take time to just sit on the side lines and observe how they interact with customers. We have been to your establishment probably 8 times in our years in Paso and I'd say the poor interaction mentioned above is probably on the top of the complaint list. I didn't know Stella Rosa came from Sam Antonio Wineries. We stopped by and had some samples, the service was great. They even offered sample of juice and a smoothie for our son. The outside patio was quaint and they had a guy playing the guitar added to make a nice afternoon. read more

For the past 30 years, when staying in Cambria, we always pick a day to do wine tasting throughout Paso Robles. We finally found a gem as the wine, food and hosts were outstanding. Chef A.R., a grateful and humble man, shared some of his wonderful recipes that were taught to him from an elderly Italian woman. Our host and manager, Tony, treated us like family. Tony and the entire staff made sure that we had all that we needed and that we were completely satisfied. Tony and A.R. were particularly proud of their tiramisu and graciously treated us to a serving as a thank you for coming. Riboli family is definitely on our radar whenever were in Paso Robles. What a great place to have some great food. I am not a wine guy so I apologize for that. My review is for the food. The food is great and a better price than our downtown offers. I was so impressed with the food and service. The atmosphere is nice. I have no complaints. Try a wine flight and you may be able to share with another. My wife and I shared a $20 flight for lunch and it was perfect. No way one of us could enjoy it all and return to work. This place is awesome and we will definitely be back. read more

I came in here kinda buzzed from a previous tasting so I can't recall all the wines I sampled. Doh! All were tasty but these are the wines that were purchased. 2017 Viognier - Fruity, flowery and fun. 2014 Opaque Malbec - A solid Malbec that had to be shipped home. 2016 Opaque Darkness - This red blend was my favorite. Deep in flavor and ready to paired up with a fat prime rib. (medium rare=) All the Italian dishes were ordered were packed with delish. We started off with pizzas then moved quickly to the pastas. All the pastas were fresh and the sauces savory. The chicken marsala and the lasagna were my favorite. That lasagna was perfectly baked and savory af. If I had to order only dish, (I'd be sad) it would be the lasagna. Gerrie was a phenomenal host throughout our tasting. We learned a ton about Stefano & Maddalena Riboli and she incorporated their history into the numerous wines we tasted. Gerrie also ensured our dishes made it to the table timely which they did because the kitchen was on point. The showroom had tons of wine accessories, gifts, snacks, etc in addition to the the bottles themselves. If you're doing the Paso Robles wine tour thing, you should definitely stop by the San Antonio Winery. The last few times we have been to the coast we have stopped at this winery. My wife really likes the stella rose wines and they have quite a few more flavors than the local stores. The service has been great each time, Karen is extremely friendly and helpful. They even have a wine slushie machine that my wife and sister-in-law really enjoyed. We often come to Paso Robles for wine tasting and have visited numerous good wineries in area, but never been to San Antonio Winery. I'm familiar with their Stella Rosa wines and had them before at a few family functions. So we recently had the opportunity to visit this illustrious winery and absolutely enjoyed it. They're situated east of highway 46 and first winery visible on left, corner of Buena Vista Drive. The winery has beautiful grounds and a gorgeous tasting room, perfect for photo ops. Gift shop offers a huge selection of their wines, assortment gift boxes, and hand crafted items. You can order food at counter and sit inside the Bistro for lunch. When it comes to wine, I prefer bold, full bodied type selection leaning mostly to reds. Tasting are very reasonable and normal glass pours. I got Central Coast Flight for $7, 4 taste from selection of red and white wines. My favorites are San Simeon Merlot and Syrah. Syrah has deep color, round tannins (tannins refer to dryness, bitterness and astringency of a wine), long lengthy finish of vanila, oak spice and subtle cinnamon. Merlot offers full bodied flavor with soft tannins and nuances of dark chocolate. Nice aroma from black fruit, mint, and oak spice as result of barrel aging. Reasonable price $20 range and both recommended. Service is wonderful, staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Only downside is restrooms are portable toilets (porta potty). Not a big deal if you're guy (LOL!), but at least they're slightly bigger and nicer than the average porta potty. All in all, we enjoyed our visit and will definitely swing by when we visit Paso Robles. read more

This is so much more than just a tasting room! They food is amazing and they have a gift shop too. I had the chicken piccata and it was delicious and my husband had the shrimp fettuccine alfredo which he also said was really tasty. They have indoor and outdoor seating and you can sit wherever you like after you order at the counter, then they bring your food to the table. Outside has a pleasant ambiance with a water fountain, but you do hear all the cars driving by on the 46. This didn't bother us though because our toddler likes watching cars. Overall a great place to stop and have a bite to eat and pick up some wine too! Also, I didn't know this before but Stella Rosa is part of the Riboli Family wines (like San Antonio winery) so they have a wide selection of ones I hadn't even seen anywhere else. read more

I have seen this winery as I pass by on my way to SoCal driving by really fast! I had always thought that if i had enough time I would love to stop here for lunch and wine. Well, it happened, I did! No regrets at all. It was so good! The Covid protocol is excellent. The staff wears masks, customers required to wear masks, hand sanitizer everwhere, clean bathrooms. You order at the counter and take a seat outside. There are three wine tastings offered. The menu is excellent and reasonable. Pizza is on the back of the menu. Be sure to look at it because I did not and had pizza envy from the table next door. I ordered the grilled shrimp salad and was not disappointed. The shrimp were grilled perfectly and juicy and plump. The lettuce fresh and everything on the salad. Not a particularly fancy salad, but the fact that all the veggies were fresh and the shrimp ! perfectly, it receives high recommendations. My friends shared a burrata salad and chicken picada. Neither complained and we all had a wonderful lunch. It was a bit hot that day, but the tables outside were in the shade. The tables were also socially distanced. The view was of the grounds and beautiful scenery of the grounds. Flowers, green lawn, fountains and nice music playing. There is a great condiment station that I am sure you will miss if I don't tell you about it. I know because I missed it! All the condiments, salt and pepper, siracha, ketchup, utensils, water, etc. available for you to help yourself. San Antonio Winery's tasting room in Paso Robles has a slightly misleading name; while there is a wine tasting bar here there are no nearby vineyards that are connected to it. That said when I last visited here I noted that they're pouring a number of good quality wines with reasonable prices relative to other tasting rooms in the area. Our last visit was during the week and the tasting bar was almost empty; it's got a fair amount of room, but I can easily see this place getting very busy on weekends. The selection of wines offered is fairly large, with multiple price points, labels, and wine varietals being offered. Tip: You'll need to choose one of the available tasting flights; prices range from $15 to $30 per person. The three higher-end flights include premium wine selections, as well as gourmet cheese and/or charcuterie plates The bottle prices for most of their wines are in the $15 to $25 range, which is more than reasonable for the area.The quality of wines ranges from AOK to very good. This trip I particularly enjoyed the 2016 Opaque Darkness; it's a red blend with wonderfully dark color that's made from Zinfandel, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Petit Verdot and Petite Sirah grapes. The wine has a deep flavor profile and a really nice body, with a finish that makes it perfect to pair with steak or prime rib. I bought two bottles of the Opaque Darkness, which resulted in one of our tasting fees being waived :-) read more

This winery has a very nice and spacious facility - a wine tasting bar, wines for sale, a store of wine related accessories and decor, a small bistro that serves lunch and a large outdoor patio. They produce several labels; I'm a fan of their San Simeon wines. Even though the prices here are no better than what you'd get at a retail store I grabbed bottles of the cabernet sauvignon and petite syrah. Staff here were friendly and very attentive to their customers. It probably goes without saying that this location is less busy than the one in Los Angeles. read more

Very expensive food that is not worth the money. I would say the food is good if it cost the average amount. But $30 for a small-ish margarita with barely any burrata (I even doubt it was burrata) is ridiculous, not mentioning that the only service they do is bring your food to you. My friend's pasta was crazy expensive too and the meal looked like no one really cared to serve it nicely - I serve food better for free at my own house. I really like the place because it is a combination of food, wine, and eclectic collectibles. Access to the winery is easy because it is literally off the highway that leads to and from the 101. Look for the LaQuinta Hotel sign. The winery is just across the street. On top of all that, this place sells great wine I like, and I mostly don't like wine. So... bonus!!! read more

I'm on a mission to hit every winery in SLO County and beyond. I have a map to mark my adventures and hopefully one day complete it all. Unfortunately wineries begin popping up faster than I can visit - so it's a life-long attempt here. San Antonio Winery was one that I kept driving on past. How many times did I drive past - 20+. It just didn't call to me. Well, finally I caved and when another winery mentioned that SA had plenty of sweet wines (the b/f is into these, not me...) I thought why not? We came about 45 minutes prior to closing and the place was absolutely packed. The pourers apologized and offered us complimentary tastings... but we were unfortunately forgotten about. Staff begun mopping up and we stood there arms outstretched with empty glasses wondering if someone would see us. After what felt like quite a while we were finally noticed and tasting begun - but was rushed. We quickly went through the wines - focusing on most of the sticky sweet wines that were the b/f's faves. Quality here is quite different than what you'll find elsewhere. It's a different type of place here - if you are familiar with the Stella Rosa wine label then you'll understand. It's not bad by any means, but not for me. Combined with the dismal service it was just a meh experience. Would I return? Unlikely, unless someone really loved the wines. Simply glad to have checked this place off the list. read more

Having frequented their restaurant in DTLA many times, it was nice to see a familiar location in Paso Robles. This bistro and tasting room is located at the corner of Highway 46 and Buena Vista Drive. For our second visit the wife and I visited on a slow Wednesday afternoon just before they closed. It wasn't busy at all and we enjoyed a 54 dollar lunch that consisted of fried calamari with french fries and a margarita style thin crust pizza. We didn't do any wine tasting today but wanted a slow quiet lunch. Food and service was great. The worker that greeted us was friendly and advised us to order at the tasting area and food would be brought out. Food came out quickly and was hot and fresh. We both enjoyed the lightly breaded calamari with some lemon. The pizza was flavorful with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. Prices were very reasonable, service was great even so close to closing time, and ambience/location was nice. Even though the highway is right next to you, their outdoor area was a nice spot to enjoy lunch. It was a great visit and would recommend anyone in the area to try this place out. read more
