A hole in the wall restaurant. My husband and I would have probably never thought about trying this restaurant because of their location. Tucked away in what looks like exhibition space/party area kind of building, this place is easy to miss, especially since it's on the corner of a residential area! The restaurant came as a recommendation from our friends who live close to this area. Yesterday was our second time there. On the inside, it feels like you've gone to Mexico. Bright colorful walls, Spanish music and simple decor. When you sit, they serve you fresh chips and salsa and ask you for your drink orders while you review the menu. Yesterday, we ordered the same dishes we ordered the first time we were there (which was about 7 months ago). A whole fried red snapper fish, cactus salad, guacamole, fries, Lava Bowl and this time breaded fried shrimp instead of the garlic calamari we ordered last time. Since the fish is fried to order, it usually takes a little while before it comes out but everything else comes out pretty quickly. The food is fresh and delicious. Everything has so much flavor. The guacamole is creamy but it doesn't look like they add any sour cream to it. The shrimp was cooked to perfection! The best breaded shrimp I've had in a while! The cactus salad has a distinctive flavor and is very tasty. The Lava Bowl is so hearty and tasty! It's basically mixed seafood cooked with some veggies like mushrooms in a rich tomato sauce topped with some melted cheese, what can be better than that?! All the food is served with tortillas. Some dishes like the fried shrimp come with rice and beans on the side. The prices are average. For all the dishes we ordered (and we ordered 2 cactus salads and 2 guacamole), the bill came out to about $95 which is pretty average for a seafood dinner for 4 people. The service is excellent! One lady serves pretty much the whole restaurant and she is on top of everything all the time! We will return to enjoy their food again and afain. It is not only different, it is very good!

Would you believe me if I told you I've been wanting to eat here for 20 years? My friend and I had planned to eat here back in the '90s but we weren't able to find the restaurant so we strolled away in our plaid flannel shirts, pagers on hip, stomping away in our Doc martens and ended up eating somewhere else while rockin' out to Nirvana (Insert any additional 90's clichés here). I totally forgot about this place until I saw some other Yelpers post photos of the food here. I'm glad it's still open after all these years! The restaurant is in a little plaza with a few other businesses, in a corner spot. The interior is spacious with bright cheerful accents. We were seated at a cozy booth and after glancing at the menu I knew I had to have the Mighty Mt. Molcajete, AKA lava bowl! You have your choice of cameron/shrimp or mixed seafood. I opted for the mix. While we waited we got a tray of chips with salsa. The salsa had a wonderful blend of flavors and tasted house-made. It went great with the chips. It took a bit to get our food but it's OK, I'm sure it takes a long time to heat up a bowl made of rock! When it came out it was a bubbling, cauldron-like batch of stew. As a hungry Shakespeare would say, "Double double toil and trouble; Fire burn and seafood bubble!" It was a mountainous pile of seafood in that bowl, filled with shrimp, octopus, calamari and snail. It was molten hot and I did have to wait quite a bit for it to cool down. The broth was volcanically spicy and well seasoned. You have the option of flour or corn tortillas to go with the molcajete, I opted for the flour. I received 2 large sized tortillas, piping hot in the tortilla warmer. While the seafood itself was pretty good, the shrimp was not cleaned so I did get some gritty bites when I was eating. I had a bite of the shrimp flautas which were excellent. They came with a mound of guacamole, and the shrimp was tender and delicious in its marinated red sauce. Service was very friendly, sweet and attentive. The server really wanted to make sure we had a good experience here.

Apparently my last review is 7 years old. I've been coming here for way longer than that, and the food has remained consistently good. This is my favorite mariscos in the world. Whenever I come back and visit I try to come here for the shrimp molcajete with all its shrimpy cheesy mushroomy boiling goodness. Was happy to share this place with a loved one on a recent trip and they got the mixed seafood molcajete and loved every bite. There are other places around the country that have a molcajete on the menu but none compare to this one.

Awful!!!!! 35 dollars for everything in this photo!! What a rip off I cannot believe they send plates out like this. Super disappointed I called to let them know about this and they hung up. Please go somewhere else. Never going again

Second time and the eating here and I absolutely love this place! Traditional Mexican restaurant and the best I've found in the area!! The staff is super friendly! The Tilapia was sooooo good! If you like sea food + Mexican food, you need to come here! I can't wait to come back!

This is what half order of agua Chile and one ceviche tostada looks like delivered to you from this place

I ordered this place from door dash and was so happy and excited for some delicious seafood spent a total of 26$ for the items I bought it gets delivered and thought it was oddly light. I open up the boxes to this sad quantity, it's almost like they packaged ur stuff with a big EF U (: and a mean smiling face. If you want to get ripped off I suggest you go here

We had a very wonderful experience here. My wife ordered the cocktail of shrimp inside of coconut, very delicious very tasty very authentic. I ordered my regular fillet devil style with white rice and refried beans and flour tortillas. I've been coming here 19 years and it's always amazing service and food. Thank you

Fab chips and salsa, you can tell it is made fresh. The service is always so friendly. The beers are cheap and served with frozen mugs. There is an amazing thing that happens here...Molcajete. This dish is ridiculous. It is filled with shrimp (you can get mixed seafood too), onions, mushrooms and tomatoes in this beautiful sauce that has just the right amount of spice. It is topped with a handful of cheese and served in a screaming hot lava rock bowl. It arrives at the table bubbling and sizzling. Get it with the super fresh corn tortillas and you have a meal made in heaven. I always share it with someone because it is so much food. The seafood cocktails here are great too! Check out the pics I posted to see what I'm talking about. Don't come here looking for average Mexican food. There isn't a single burrito to be found. Go get some!!!!

UPDATE 2026…read more Bluewater is our new favorite seafood restaurant. We went last Wednesday for HH and the bartenders are a fantastic team. They run a very professional bar. The service we received from them was next level. The kitchen did a great job too. I got the fish and chips with walleye. It was flaky goodness paired with crisp and salty fries. I washed it down with a couple smoked old fashoineds. We left with a satisfied smile.

The Spanish octopus was alright. The clam chowder was flavorful and not too salty; definitely made it into the top three clam chowders I've had in the state so far. For our main entrees we ordered the New England lobster roll and the gemelli pasta with shrimp and scallops. The lobster roll was flavorful but felt like it was missing something. The gemelli pasta tasted a bit bland for my taste buds, but the family member I went with really enjoyed it. Since we always have room for dessert, we ordered a crème brulee to share. The crème brulee was nice and not overly sweet. Overall, service was professional, knowledgeable, attentive, and the food arrived in a timely manner. The restaurant itself is quite spacious with nautical décor throughout which gives off a comfortable and relaxing vibe.

I would definitely recommend this spot for an eventful dinner or a great date night. The Food & Drinks: We ordered the red snapper served with a side of whole carrot and the sea bass served with a side of broccolini. The fish was incredibly fresh, light, and flavorful! To top it off, we ordered a classic margarita on the side, which paired perfectly with the meal. I already need to go back just to try the other specials on the menu. The Ambiance & Service: We made a reservation ahead of time to be safe, and we were seated immediately upon arriving. We visited during the transition from winter to spring when the evening air was a bit chilly, but they had a heater placed perfectly near us to keep everything warm and comfortable. The service was top-tier our food arrived in a quick 12 to 15 minutes after ordering. Being the desert, the quality of Seafood is important, since we are nowhere near seawater and the reputable Chula Seafood is here to serve us, desert dwellers, well. TUNA MELT- it's refreshing to have a tuna sandwich that is not canned tuna. There is a chimichiri sauce that you can get to drizzle on it that really gives a depth of flavor. The bread was a nice sourdough that was not just a cheap white bread and did not get soggy. However, with my sandwich, the bread was burnt so that bitterness ruined the flavor of the delicate fish. My pictures shows a few burnt spots, but on the bottom side was way more burnt and it was like they put the most burnt side on the bottom to hide it and hope I didn't notice. I did not appreciate this. CLAM CHOWDER- creamy and more on the fluid consistency, being made with fresh clams makes the difference. Not the best chowder i've had, but was pretty decent. The fish variety can vary with seasons, but it is nice to get different choices throughout the year. There are limited offerings here compared to the bigger location across town, as far as menu and fish selection. But for a small store it is a good place to get some quality seafood to take home or sit and eat. Check out the great happy hour deals
