Loved it! This is a great little place in Mesa. After leaving L.A. I didn't think that I would find a place this good. I see that Mariscos El Viejon has a great following. I never saw a restaurant turn tables like this place has. If you're looking for a place just to have taco and drinks or a nice dinner, then this is a must try. This will be our new get a way.

Excellent coastal style Mexican restaurant. We can't say enough about it. We're natives raised in Yuma and spent time in the gulf most vacations, so we know gulf shrimp. The shrimp cocktail was great, with diced veggies just how we love! (Us stateside gringos do like a little horseradish in ours though, so I added some ketchup and imagined it was our family recipe). He had the simple butterflied prawns/shrimp, no breading. Messy, so get extra napkins. I had the beef/shrimp fajitas - lots of caramelized onions and 3 colors of bell peppers. Tasty put into great midsize flour tortillas! Beef was slightly dry - my ONLY 'mini-gripe.' Rice was awesome. Frijoles were decent to me, my hubby loved them, and he says my taste buds are off (true, for a few days now). If you hate traditional Mexican music, bring your earplugs. . Us gringos from border towns are accustomed to it. Just breathe and imagine you're in Ensenada, Rosarito, or Acapulco. Sad they were out of their famous dessert. By the way, they're hiring - still saying "No one wants to work!" Worried about Covid19? The waitresses wear masks as of June 5th 2021 but no guests were wearing them on this Saturday night. The chefs aren't either. This is a place to FORGET about 2020. We don't mind. We're ready to breathe ourselves without a constant reminder. Have a bucket of beer or a margarita.

No recomendable si vienes con mucha ambre El lugar está ocupado y se van a tardar para que te traigan tu comida más o menos 45-1 hora Pero son amables y la comida está buena Gracias a diana que nos atendió

The cakes themselves are big and full of crab with just the right amount of filling to create a decadent and moist cake! The servers are robotic and will ask you every single time if this your "first time dining with us". Never do the hosts or hostess acknowledge "welcome back". When we take our tables there's always a receipt on our table and I turn it over and it says "big spender" on it. We do order a good amount and always the best stuff. But to put this receipt on your table for us to see is beyond cringe, and on top of it their servers will pick it up and ask if I've been there before. 50 times I'm guessing we've visited in the last year or so. Countless reservations under my name and other friends and bar visits for happy hour. Today was my wife's 38th birthday and we came to Buck and rider to enjoy it with our three boys. For the first time in our couple years coming they id'd my wife for her drink she ordered. She didn't bring her ID. The server got the gm and she denied us even seeing our history of how many times we've frequented the establishment. She didn't care that it was her bday or that we had a picture of her ID she was cold, dismissive and short. Nothing you expect of a place that should welcome us with open arms, remember us and make our experiences there memorable. It's a judgement call for them. Deny our best customers who dine here twice a month or more, who have three boys and take her ID picture or lose a good customer. Common sense and standard judgement have been completely lost
