Wow...who would have thought... That a restaurant that serves a pretty good lunch buffet can't serve a good meal in the evening. I had eaten at SFK probably 30 times for their lunch buffet. It's nothing spectacular but is good basic Asian at a very good price. I had always wanted to try it for dinner as it seems to get good reviews and my lunchtime experiences had proved satisfactory. So when my daughter offered to take me out for dinner for my birthday I said let's go to SFK. We arrived and it was quite busy but we were promptly seated. Service was good, great waitress, prompt, friendly...she was the best thing about the evening. The Hot and Sour soup which I love as it is on the lunch buffet was disappointing as it did not contain the amount of chopped vegetables I am used to...just the hot and sour broth with a few pieces of chopped summer squash and zucchini floating about. The salad that came with dinner was good. Hot and Spicy Shrimp however...a disaster! Nothing hot and spicy about it. The bland shrimp, mixed with a few chopped vegetables, came with a sweet red sauce. Hot and Spicy...NOT! That was disappointing enough but the fact that the shrimp had turned, were mushy, and tasted of ammonia left me wondering how everyone else in the place were "enjoying" their meals. The place was busy but I haven't a clue why if they serve food that clearly doesn't match the menu description and has "turned". I am still a fan of SFK's lunch buffet but will never ever set foot in the establishment after 2 p.m. There are too many good restaurants in Nashua that take pride in what they serve and have professionals in the kitchen. What I experienced was not a professionally prepared meal and clearly the pride factor was lacking. Front of house staff were great...but SFK needs clean house in the kitchen. There are too many good people looking for jobs in this economy not to have better working for you. SFK needs a new kitchen staff that understands the menu, takes pride in what they do, and knows when food is spoiled and needs to be thrown out. read more

dinner tonight put me in a bad mood. My parents are i left feeling jipped and frustrated. The food was just entirely tasteless. If it weren't for the pile of Siracha I added, I would have tasted nothing but the oil they fried it in. Also- the service was awful and the waitress never once asked us how we were doing after we got our food. (I had to go find my saving-grace Siracha by myself). And it's shocking how bad chinese food can be so high-priced. I was floored that the average dinner entree was in the mid 20's??? Save yourself a trip and go get cheap takeout and have a better time at home. read more

I have been here twice before and this time was the best. It seems to be under new management. The bartender, Anthony, was very nice and attentive and the food was great. The bar had an extensive selection of liquor. It was also very nice and quite so you could enjoy yourself! The only thing I can critique is the decor, it needs to be updated the rug is coming up. It just so happened that I've been looking forward to trying the Vietnamese place across the street, unfortunately, they were closed that day. I had a hunger that only rice would satisfy so I went over to this restaurant. Usually I avoid Asian fusion places...I should have listened to my gut when I walked into this place. The decor was cheesy. The soups (I tried the hot & sour and the wife tried the crab & corn) were worse than the typical Chinese takeout. The salad was on the wilted side. The warm bread with the sesame/honey butter was good tho. The sweet and sour chicken was so ridiculously sweet....ugh! And it was overpriced! Never coming back here... read more

It was also expensive for the average food that was served. The character's at the bar were an interesting (in a negative way) mix of people. I would not go back. read more

Where east meets west it claims. Menu is a combo of Chinese food and sushi. Some different twist on the regular stuff like egg drop soup and crab Rangoon but nothing fancy or extraordinary for its price. We ordered 2 soups, 2 apps and an entree for lunch. The soups were sub par, the apps never came even though I saw him writing it down, and the entree was with soggy noodles. The seafood quality was good though. I didn't try their sushi however. The decor was comfortable but their buffet area looks dirty. Overall not impressed and life is too short for ok food. read more

SFK is one of my favorite spots to meet with friends for a drink and nibble on food. The bar drinks are excellent and reasonably-priced. The menu is a bit eclectic - some are Asian, others Asian-inspired versions of more continental fare, so I guess the category "Asian Fusion" is accurate. I've had sushi here on a few occasions, it's pretty good... although I think other places do a better job with presentation (there's no shortage of sushi restaurants in the Nashua area!). Service is great, and I like the atmosphere... the dining and bar area have eclectic touches (like funky lighting) that matches the menu's character. I have been a patron of this restaurant and bar for years. However this past weekend the bar manager "Bastian" gave me the worst customer service I've ever received here and I will never return. First off he wasn't welcoming and said nothing friendly to us as me and the 3 other people who were with me sat at the bar. We all pulled out our ID's and began to order. One friend told me he left his debit card at the garden next door so I told him I'd cover his drinks. Meanwhile Bastian is being standoffish and giving us dirty looks for no reason as my other friend orders her drink from him. She asks for the well gin in her drink -he doesn't understand what she means- she explains she would like the house gin and he goes "we don't have that" and doesn't ever try to tell her which gin's he has he just stares at her. He then goes to the other bartender (who is literally standing right in front of me) and starts saying under his breath but I can still hear his shitty attitude "can you help me with these people I don't know what they want and one of them doesn't have an ID and is trying to order a drink" and I hear the other bartender go "we aren't serving him then" so I corrected him and said "we all have our ID's, my friend just forgot his debit card so I'm going to cover that for him" and then "Bastian" has the nerve to say to me "If you're going to give me attitude I won't be serving you" up until this point I had been nothing but respectful and I wasn't even the slightest bit rude when I was correcting him for being wrong about our IDS when mind you he already checked all 4 of them. I can not believe you still allow someone who is so horrible with the customers to stay working there. I've had bad experiences with Bastian before, but this pushed me over the edge. Needless to say as soon as he threatened not to serve me I got up and left the bar without spending any of the money I had planned to spend. I took my money right over to Fody's tavern where they were HAPPY to take my money and serve me politely. Looks like it's time for a new bar manager. read more

This is a review purely for a delivery order. I honestly never knew this was an Asian restaurant and have been driving by it for years! Our favorite place is closed for renovations so I found this place on a whim. I was also very pleasantly surprised that they deliver! I ordered some maki and spring rolls. They were very well made and very tasty. The spring rolls were crisp and not overly oily like they sometimes can be at places. We arrived late on a Friday Night (6 hour ride) and the place we were originally going to already closed its kitchen (10pm), so we walked down the street and found this great place! Walked in a got a table right away wand the cute and friendly waitress made sure we had full drinks all night and got the food out quickly. Great apps (Fried Calamari, Duplins, Sour Dough Bread) and great meal. I went for the drunken shrimp which were excellent. I would certainly recommend this place and we'll go again. read more

SFK is a refreshing restaurant on Main St. It has a wonderful buffet, that includes many vegetarian options that are tasty and different. The sushi is always very fresh and well made. good variety without going off the usual types of rolls. They have wonderful specials for Valentine's Day and New Years. The menu has a lot of variety and there is something for everyone. They have expanded to the space next door, with a very nice atmosphere. Try the shabu shabu tables (the soup additions are great) meat or veggie. you will be FULL and it's a great value. You never feel pressured that you are taking up a table. (even on a packed night) you can relax and enjoy your meal. I always have the scallop and crab meat dinner and my husband gets the dancing phoenix (shrimp) and our daughter loves the chicken that is served in an actual pineapple shell (YUM). We always have take home as we the plates are generous. Try to save room for dessert and coffee! It's always fresh and hot. If you like something you see on the menu, but it has one ingredient you are not keen on, they can usually make it to order. We have used the take out and it's been the same serving as if we ate at the restaurant. (even extra sauces) packed nicely. I drive by this place all the time and never knew it was a Asian fusion/sushi bar. The outside is really deceiving and gives no indication that I can get sushi here. Anyway, my boyfriend, myself and another couple went here last night. We sat outside which was awesome. I order a Mai tai, a go to for me when indulging in Chinese food. It wasn't good. It was super fruity and sweet and had no kick like a Polynesian Mai tai does. The food was just ok. I have tried sushi at many places so I have a lot to compare to. It just didn't seem fresh like sushi should. The rice was SO sticky that I couldn't even get it off the plate with my chop sticks. We also got sesame chicken and lo mein. Again just sub par for me. The lo mein had off vegetables in it and the chicken was in super large pieces. Nothing was bad it just wasn't great. The atmosphere was really nice and the outdoor seating was wonderful. Our waitress was very nice and even brought over an extra table for us since the ones outside are small and couldn't accommodate four people. All in all everything was just ok. My husband and I went for the lunch buffet this week. Not at all impressed with the food. Not the worst I've had but also far from the best. Some of the problem might be the fact Asian noodle dishes are best eaten as soon as they are made, not after sitting in a warmer for any length of time. My limited experience with sushi has always had raw vegetables thinly sliced. This had larger pieces of what seemed like cooked carrot - no crunch. Disappointing flavor. Service was very good and friendly. Would I go back for the buffet or for the regular menu? Probably not. I really expected better quality/authentic food preparation from a restaurant which seems to advertise itself as a step above the chinese take-out. read more

Horrible service, horrible attitude of the bar staff, horrible drinks. I sat outside and although the place was not crowded, it took 10 minutes for the waiter to come by. Meanwhile, you are sitting practically in the street and the motorcycle's and loud cars going by ruin it. On top, although the told a smoker who lit up that smoking was not allowed, she simply stood on the other side of the little railing and smoked there and it blows in your face and standing on the other side of the railing hardly eliminates the smoke for the nasty cigarettes. After waiting 10 minutes for the waiter, it was another 15 minute wait for him to come back except he sent someone else and with the wrong drink. I sent that waitress back and told her I had asked for a frozen rum-runner. another 15 minute wait and she comes back w a rum-runner that is not a frozen rum-runner. I told her I had asked for a FROZEN RUM-RUNNER and she told me the bartender told her he was too busy to make it frozen, i.e. putting it in the blender was too much effort. I told the waitress, that's the worst thing you can tell a customer that the restaurant is, "too busy" to make your order right. I looked in the window, and the bartender was just standing there, doing nothing, except having a nice conversation with a bar patron. Never again will I go there! read more

Great place if your looking for something different to try. The entrees were very unique and refreshing and the sushi was even better. Sfk demonstrates a twist on American and Asian cuisine. Also the front patio allows for dogs! We had excellent service and they were very accommodating for our needs. Not the best selection of beers and drinks however. This a place a frequent often because of the food, sushi and wait staff. I recently had chicken lo-mein. This was not like any lo-mein I've ever had. The dish was so tasty I ate the whole thing. Of course it was accompanied by some sushi and a Tuckermans Pale Ale. We had a "Bastien Roll", named after the waiter who invented it and mentioned in my previous post. The crew is always attentive and friendly. The price is unbelievably affordable. The establishment is kept extremely clean. I have always stuck with beer at lunch. I am big fan of their lunch buffet. The food is a tantalizing mix of Asian Fusion - the buffet leaves plenty of choice including fresh sushi and vegetarian options for those seeking to avoid meats. It is healthy and you feel the goodness as you chew...Great place for drinks on the weekend as well. What really makes this place is their staff - they are very engaging and accommodate requests for things that are not on the menu. At the bar, there is usually great conversation and the drinks are amazing (no skimping) - and at a better price point than Boston. I wanted to share our experience of SFK from Saturday evening. Went in with a large group of 11 and were seated right away (made reservations during the week). Our server Jake was charismatic, funny and fully understood we wanted to have a blast. We started with Beers and Wine which came out efficiently and with a smile. We then dove into some apps for the table which impressed the group, dumplings and lanterns stood out, we also had the Thai chicken skewers which are excellent but you must like peanuts... be forewarned. I will also add that the egg drop soup was unreal!! Our friends from NY were very happy. Next we went on to order sushi, rolls and sashimi. I will point out that people loved Calvin the sushi chef who worked very hard to ensure the sushi came out for everyone to enjoy at the same time. Overall I am very perplexed as to why people do not enjoy SFK, I cannot name a place that makes you feel more at home while serving unique sushi in southern NH. You wanna go nuts and blow huge money go to Boston, but don't rip a smaller place that does a good Job. I feel much better now that I posted this. read more

So I'm new to NE and my boyfriend wanted to take me out for a nice dinner on main street. He had never been to SFK but living in nashua, he's heard a lot about it. So we gave it a shot. The atmosphere was beautiful, except for the nasty booths (straight from IHOP or Denny's). They just didn't seemed to fit which was too bad because that killed the whole look for the room. We both ordered seafood (I got lobster and he got salmon). The service took forever! We ordered sushi as an app and the rice wasn't cooked so it was hard. Gross. Then the food came 45 minutes later (cold) and it was chewy and really REALLY bad. We ended up paying over $100 with drinks and tip and all. I really wish this restaurant was good bc it's so cute from the street. Avoid if you can. I would just pay the higher price and go to the safron. read more

Always excellent service. Bastian is absolutely wonderful. He's very well known in town and has gotten voted best server in Nashua multiple years in a row. SFK is famous for their main entrees (aka the $20ish meals) but are well worth the money. The regular apps are good but not as good as the entrees. I do like their peanut sauce on the chicken teriyaki. Very tasty. Mai tai's and scorpion bowls are also very relish. Give it a try. You won't hate it! read more
