I know I shouldn't have been at a candy shop again, since I had just visited a sweet shop a week ago. But I'm weak! And addicted to chocolate! So being in the area for an event, I couldn't resist. I tried their chocolate covered strawberries and the triple chocolate milkshake. Wow, both of these items were amazing! Got the strawberries with dark chocolate and they tasted so fresh, the sweet strawberries and the smooth, crisp chocolate shells, were soooo good! Even sweeter, that chocolate shake, with bits of chocolate curls/shavings mixed right into it. Yes, a sugary treat, but the chocolate flavor was one-of-a kind, the best I've had ever anywhere... and I've tried a lot of chocolate milkshakes. The store itself was pretty small inside, and currently visitors can't even go inside. So you can stare at all the chocolate candy lined up in the display cases and popcorn being freshly made, through the window, lol. You open the front door to place your order when you're ready. The windows are covered with a whole bunch of menu items and pictures, from fudge and ice cream and chocolate covered fruit, to gourmet popcorn of unique flavors. I wanted to try the pizza flavored popcorn, but they were out. In fact they were out of a lot, so that was somewhat disappointing. But regardless, they still had so much to choose from to satisfy any sweet tooth. The worker was nice, service was pretty standard with about a 10-12 minute wait for our order to be ready (we ordered some candies and popcorn, in addition to what I mentioned earlier in this review). Also, you can check in on Yelp for a 10% discount. I would definitely return for that same milkshake and chocolate covered strawberries, but can't indulge too often... I think it would be a better experience if you could actually go inside and also if they had the other items in stock. Nice staff, poor product. It's just corn syrup and sugar. The ice cream does not have a good mouth feel, it's thin. Tastes like super sweet ice milk. The toppings too (hot fudge tastes like dark brown colored sugar, you can't taste cocoa. Caramel just tastes like tan colored sugar.) Tried the fudge candy, it was also a disappointment. It did not taste rich at all, it had the taste of powdery plain confectioners sugar. The apples are pretty, and would make a nice gift for someone on looks alone... When I arrive in the store, I decided to get the chocolate covered pecan caramel apple and some chocolate dipped strawberries. YUM! The chocolate flavor could've been stronger, but it definitely hit the spot. The only reason I'm docking one star is because neither person working there wore gloves when handling my order. The guy tried very hard to use the parchment paper to maneuver the apple when he sliced it for me, and the lady who dipped the strawberries (yes they do it to order) picked up the strawberry with her left hand, then grabbed the stem part with her right, before dipping. My visit was not as expected as thought it would be. I wanted to try the exotic smoothies, so ordered it by calling them directly. The person was friendly and took my order. The store is not main road, just a bit inside. But the sign board was covered by outdoor dining of restaurant next door. I opened the door and the person recognized me from the call. The person is not wearing MASK or GLOVES. I am very much disappointed about that with current situation. Fortunately, the lady that prepared my drink is wearing a mask. They prepared my order after I went their. I ordered for Chikoo smoothie and I have very high expectations on that. After trying that, i was disappointed as I didn't taste any chikoo at all. Let's talk about the Dubai Chocolate bar! I seen that so many people went here and how hyped up this place was getting for their Dubai Chocolate bars. When we got the box itself, it had chocolate finger prints on them and the sticker already seemed teared as if it was almost opened before. I was in and out so didn't notice. Once We tried the chocolate bar, it was not how it should've tasted! The filling is Just straight peanut butter, super oily and seemed like it was just peanut butter dyed slightly green!!?? Did not taste like pistachio or how it should've. Super disappointing especially for a $20 bar! A cute shop in the middle of Downtown San Jose! I stopped by to grab some ice cream inbetween my classes at SJSU. Immediately when I walked in, it was very warm and toasty compared to the cold winds outside. There's large barrels of popcorn and a wall of candy on one side of the store, the other side of the store has fudge, caramel apples, ice cream, and a variety of other sweets. We got samples of a few ice cream flavors: Ube Coconut, Pistachio Almond, Waui Maui, & Mint Chip. We finally settled on the Pistachio Almond and Mint Chip. It hit the spot perfectly! Despite it being a cold day, the ice cream was so addicting as we walked back to SJSU. Overall, I will be back when my sweet tooth starts to kick in. Good customer service! I found San Jose Candy Kitchen when we were looking for vendors for an event we were holding. Ajay was very nice on the phone, so a couple of us went to the store to do a tasting. I was blown away... Everything I tasted (and purchased) was incredible, including the ice cream. I think I bought a little of all the dark chocolate items, but the rocky road fudge has to rate as one of the top 3 things this chocoholic has ever eaten. It is simply amazing! Whenever I'm in the area and walk by San Jose Candy Kitchen, I always find it difficult to pass this place up. It's a one-stop shop for all things sweet. You can find ice cream, milk shake, cookies, candy, dessert bars, etc. San Jose Candy Kitchen is totally fine in my book. I must say that I've had better gourmet chocolates from elsewhere, but San Jose Candy Kitchen does the trick in satisfying my sweet tooth. On my most recent visit, for example, I got the Divinity Puff ball. The Divinity Puff ball was not on the level of See's Candies' Divinity Puff, but I didn't mind it. I also got a milk chocolate covered Oreo, which was pretty basic but on part to tasting like milk chocolate covered Oreos I've tried from other chocolatiers and/or confectioneries. We ordered four caramel apples and some fudge through DoorDash and overall had a really good experience. The apples were impeccably packaged: each in their own box and unblemished when they arrived. They were also delicious: the caramel, chocolate and peanut covered apples were each delicious as were the apples themselves. We will definitely get them again. The fudge was okay: we got regular, butterfinger and peanut butter chocolate, and honestly they all tasted about the same, which was like thick sugar. The flavors, including chocolate, didn't really come through. Highly recommend ordering the apples, and if sweet sweet fudge is your thing get some of that too. read more

Great Sweet Treats but I'm assuming to walk in and get it yourself is best besides a Door Dash or any Food delivery service because whenever a person is present to witness or see the attendant place whatever you've ordered directly in the packaging bag is a 4surE confirmation. The best of the pick which was the frozen chocolate dipped cheesecake on a stick was M.I.A. Nowhere 2b found in the brown paper bag provided for the order ... I was so pissed !!! It wasn't a door dash problem either ( for the 1st time ) /lol . So I called San Jose Candy Kitchen to report the missing desert mentioned and they replied in a manner I felt was insensitive. They told me to just report it to door dash to get a refund . That's cute and all... However as we know Door Dash has tax charges , delivery charges , that tax, this tax which a 6.00$ slice of a frozen dipped cheesecake on a stick turns into a total of 10$ or 11$bucks . I was only refunded the 6$ for the og price of the item with 1$ and some change was added . If it was my company I would have gave the customer credit for the missing item and whatever delivery fees associated to the order and probably would have credited the entire order to guarantee full customer satisfaction keeping the customer and the store business in positive relations as well as preventing negative reviews . I don't know but while reading this review some may feel it's a lil petty but in my train of thought it's all about customer satisfaction especially if it's faults of the business and not the consumer ... As a person with customer service experience when mistakes are made from neglect or in my case noncompliance by the business ,I've been trained and accustomed to go the extra mile for the customer to maintain satisfaction for the customer.... Overall it's an excellent sweet tooth - munchie joint with a wide selection of treats that taste exceptionally well . I will return but ONLY as a walk in customer. Pregnant and in the mood for some gourmet chocolates, I was overjoyed to find San Jose Candy Kitchen open and available for delivery on a Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm. After checking out the menu and being a sucker for chocolate shakes I decided to partake in one of those as well. We ordered two Simple chocolate milkshakes with caramel drizzle (you can choose from caramel or chocolate which is in itself a treat) and two Toffee Squares. The milkshake was one of the best I've had. You could tell they used quality ice cream and the chocolate flavor was not fake or overwhelming which it can sometimes be with shakes. I'm looking forward to going in person and trying one of their crazy Freak shakes that I saw in their pictures. They seem like true artistic expressions!!! The toffee squares were amazing.
