These candy apples were really good!
    Craig Y.

It's out of the way for a casual stop. The store is off the street and up the alley. But it was constantly rated highly for its Dubai chocolate bar and that's what I was looking for. Got there a bit early and even though they weren't due to open for another 10 minutes, the owner let me in so I could get one of those bars! How nice right? FOOD: The sweets in the display are all made by hand right there at the candy shop and they taste nice and fresh. They have a nice variety but since they are known for the Dubai chocolate I got one of those (which my daughter loved so it was all worth it) and a caramel apple which was so delicious. Nice and fresh and so big. Just what you want for the price. SERVICE: I can't say enough. So nice and thoughtful. It wasn't a huge store and the selection wasn't overwhelming but the quality was terrific and isn't that what you want? COST: Kind of expensive but hey, if you want homemade chocolates, that's just what it costs. And they were good.

    Dubai Chocolate ($20/bar)

Dubai-Bye-Bye (sorry for this one ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) I admit I get obsessed easily with food, and my current obsession is Dubai chocolate. For those who aren't following this food trend, it's essentially a chocolate bar filled with a creamy pistachio paste and crispy kadayif (filo strands). It's very unique and craveable, I highly recommend it. I've found candy bars at Middle Eastern grocery stores, and at a different bakery in Camden Park (rhymes with C'est Si Bon) that were both pretty good. However, my favorite so far has been the one here from San José Candy Kitchen. Even at a whopping $20/bar, I felt like it wasn't a terrible value as the bar itself is pretty fat, and I've seen smaller for more. They make them fresh in-store and they have some other Dubai chocolate related candies, but this was all that was avaliable upon our visit. If you're in DTSJ, I highly recommend heading this way and giving their stuff a try.

Loved the caramel apple & coconut haystacks. The pecan turtles were good but a lot of chocolate (I'm one who prefers little chocolate and more caramel) Service and presentation is nice. Only downside is difficult to find parking.

    Hair in fudge.

The fudge is delicious, however I'm now uncertain the cleanliness & health safety standards are up to par. My mom was eating some of the rocky road fudge & there's a huge hair INSIDE the fudge. I'm pretty grossed out. & bummed that I spent $25 on fudge & now we likely won't eat it.

I've been in a hunt for Dubai chocolate around the Bay Area that meets my satisfaction, but I don't think I need to continue searching because San Jose Candy Kitchen has the BEST Dubai chocolate I've ever tasted. I've been recommending this place to friends and family and will continue to do so because it's so good!

    creamy chocolates..

Its a candy store! What's not to love? A good variety of chocolates, fudges, bagged candies, ice cream, frozen bananas. Some chocolates are by the piece, some by the pound. Lemon cream, haystacks, chocolate coconut chew(?),cherry cordial, nougats were all good.Yes, I took a bite out of all:) Milk chocolate is very creamy. Service is friendly. Place was empty. The store itself is a rough gem and could use some re organizing, and a little zhuzh-ing.

This appears to be a family owned and run store which is wonderful. The fudge was excellent and I got my first Dubai chocolate bar here. It was good too and they both went fast.

I only came here for the Dubai chocolate. My friend likes it and said it was a little too sweet for her taste. Service is fast. It's a small shop that has outdoor furniture/seating. Can you fit in a wheelchair? If there isn't a line but people are well aware.

They have Fudge!!! Originally, I went in for a soda float, but they were out of the flavors I wanted. The candy apples looked so yummy, but were a little pricey. I settled for fudge, $5 for 4oz piece. The store is cute, small, and the staff is friendly. To get your candy fix, I'd recommend.

This is a hidden gem in downtown San Jose! If you're looking for candies and fresh made chocolates, go here! We were looking for Dubai chocolate and found this place, cutely tucked next door to the new EOS x NYX restaurant. Definitely try the Dubai Chocolate and the Dubai Strawberries! Delicious! My daughter and I loved them! We will be back!

    Pistachio ice cream so yummy

It's small inside probably a good idea to look up the menu. There is so much selections, ice cream, candy, fudge, chocolate variety kinds, all made in house super yummy.

This is a hidden gem of downtown for sure! Stopped in because the have the "viral Duabi chocolate bar" here. Walking in you're hit with the heavenly aroma of fresh chocolate. They have SO many options, chocolates, gummy candies, ice cream, soda, you name it! Of course I got the Dubai chocolate bar. It was $19 which is definitely pricy for a chocolate bar but I've seen it as expensive as $40 on Amazon so not too bad in hindsight. It was decadent, could have had a bit more of the filling if I'm being honest especially for the price tag but I really enjoyed it!

Three scoops in there! Raspberry Vanilla on top. Underneath, chocolate peanut butter, and tin roof.
    Kristin A.

Unassuming, but so nice, I went twice within 24 hours! I was on the hunt for ice cream, as usual, and found delightful familiar flavors like tin roof, chocolate peanut butter, and raspberry vanilla. All were good but the raspberry vanilla was my surprise favorite. They had the chocolates, popcorn, and gummy candies too! Prefect place for a snack or a treat to purchase for friends or family. Staff was kind and discounts for students!

I do not recommend getting the dubai chocolate here. It isn't authentic and tastes like peanut butter.

I wanted a simple pumpkin piñata, nothing over the top. Besides not being ready when I asked for it to be ready, it was still not ready the following day when they said it would be ready. It was incredibly unprofessional that it would not be ready when the order was placed. And I came over two weeks to order it, and asked if they would be able to have it done because I understand how much work goes into it. And if they were going to be unable to fulfill my piñata order they could have just said it and I would have understood. I didn't pay $98 for a piñata to have this outcome. I drove out from Central Valley to come get this piñata also, because I knew their quality and trusted them. There was no remorse or apologizing for not having it ready. At my party, It fell apart immediately when I hung it on the string to have all my kids hit it. And I had barely put any candy in it. Not even 1/4 of the way full. Was not heavy one bit, very disappointing for myself and all of the kids. Had to tie string all around the piñata in order to allow some kids to at least has a few hits to it. Definitely never ever going to come here again. Incredibly sad because I've been buying here for almost 4 years.

As suggested by it $9.5 a cube of candy and pretty packaging. I thought at a premium price point of $9.5 I would be getting good quality candy. This is my little luxury. And I was so excited. But.. We bought five cubes of candy, 2 of which are dark chocolate almonds. The almonds tastes oxidized, you know that rancid long expired nut taste. It's not edible. Both boxes have the same rancid taste issue. We live two hours away so it's not practical to drive back for an exchange or refund. So we called customer service. It took a long time for a representative to be available to help us but that's ok. The representative promised a full refund and shipping us a replacement. We weren't expecting that as I just want the two inedible cubes refunded. But I appreciate them promising to make it right. However, two weeks has passed and we did not receive any refund nor shipping confirmation. So we called again, which again took a long time for a representative to be available. We explained the issue, and were told the first ticket was probably not submitted. They promised again a full refund and shipping us a replacement for the two defected products. And weeks passed nothing again. We called a third time. And I really just want the two cubes of inedible candy refunded. And was told "well we refunded you". But it's been 7 weeks there was truly no refund.. After three long calls and empty promises I gave up on trying to fix it. I'm just expecting adequate quality for what I paid for but they can't deliver. This is not advertised as your average brand. So I believe customers should receive not your average product. I don't condone these empty promises and false hopes either. Candy is supposed to make us happy. But this candy caused so much heartache for us. We did everything we can to delay the review and try to resolve it first. I genuinely always believe a bad product could be an accident and the business is willing to fix it. Instead of rushing to review I always reach out and explain and resolve it. We tried and are tired. I don't want this to happen to anyone else. If you do buy their candy. Please try it before you leave the place..
