So glad I found this place!! Fish is fresh, and the staff is warm! Glad it's not the other way around like some other places lol. But all joking aside, best sushi spot in this area! Location was a little tricky to find, old town Placentia, with no street parking but you can park in the back. Joey helped me this last time and she's super nice and accommodating! Told her how my wife had a craving for Salmon, but my kids like Cali rolls, she was able to adjust my order to make sure the whole fam got exactly what they wanted. After a shellfish allergy was made clear they still managed to almost kill someone. The unapologetic owner is obviously unaware of what customer service means. Here let me show you in a picture where there is enough space and it is all written out for you. After I mentioned shrimp was not listed for what was inside the "Albacore Night" roll the response was "there wasn't enough space to write it out". BUT you can write out what is in all of the other rolls, right? I was given $28 (keep in mind the bill was $130) vs. me dying because someone decided to add a last minute ingredient. Probably not the best way to explore your culinary imagination when dealing with dangerous ingredients babes. I'm sure there will be enough empty space in your restaurant for you to take some time to consider making a few revisions to your website & menu. This will be reported to the better business bureau due to bad business practices and so no one ever has to deal with this again. God forbid someone actually dies in your dining room. My first time here, we came at 45 til closing, and clearly, the waiters were getting ready to close, but they were more than welcoming to serve us. I had a craving for sushi, I mean, I was so hungry I didn't get to take any pictures of it. It's was yum! Did not disappoint and the price was really reasonable. We tried San Sushi for the first time tonight, a Sunday evening about 6pm. The place was literally empty, we were the only customers for awhile, until a young couple with a tot came in. A few people came in for take out orders, one rather large. Our server said it was unusually quiet for this weekend. The ambiance is nice and clean, with booths on one side, semi booths on the other, tables in between, and two bar height round tables by the front windows on either side of the door. Well thought out. We ordered sushi rolls. My wife got the Crunchy Shrimp roll. I got the Rainbow roll and Spicy Tuna roll. They were all very good and very reasonably priced. I would have ordered a beer but they are not yet serving alcohol, though I was told this will happen soon. We received very good service from our young server. I can speak for when they are very busy. This place is in downtown Placentia, close to where we live, and thus very convenient. We will certainly return and recommend San Sushi. read more

I've been a hearing a lot of good things about this place so I decided to try it out for dinner. There's plenty of seating and parking in the area and there was only one other table when I went. I tried the shrimp crunch roll, seaweed salad, rainbow roll and the tonkotsu ramen. I haven't been to a sushi place that offers a ramen and sushi combo so this is a major plus! I loved the shrimp crunch roll but the tonkotsu ramen was my favorite out of everything. The broth was so good I finished all of it. The menu is limited, but I think they'll add to it eventually since they're pretty new to the area. The service was fast and the prices are very reasonable. We had guests visiting and they were craving sushi, one of them happened to be a sushi chef. We came across this highly rated quaint little place and thought we'd try it. We ordered several appetizers, rolls and noodles. Salmon Carpaccio - tasty but very thinly sliced Salmon crab bites - ok at best Garlic edamame - flavorful Softshell crab - crispy but didn't taste very fresh Spicy beef ramen/tonkotsu ramen & tempura udon all tasted like it was instant packet style, nothing freshly made. My brother in law that had the spicy beef ramen ate like a third and said he couldn't eat it anymore. Various rolls - average, nothing special Salmon bento box was at least pretty good Maybe we came in with our expectations too high but the reviews told us to be wowed. 12/16/2018 Review We live near by so we choose to check this place out since we heard about it while we attended the Placentia Tamale Festival (12/14/2018). The location has street parking only and is surrounded by other businesses as well as apartments/homes. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left we were well taken care of. Our server was friendly and constantly checking in on us. We ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen Combo + California Rolls, Deluxe Sashimi Plate. The Tonkotsu ramen broth simmering for hours to create a buttery broth with the freshly prepared noodles that were soft and chewy. The thick slices of chashu seared to perfection. The freshness of the california rolls with ripe creamy avocado with the crab meat and crisp cucumber made it the perfect pairing for the ramen. The presentation of the Sashimi places perfectly on the radish strings sliced thick enough to enjoy the fresh quality of the fish. Overall I would say we would return and this time I would try to speciality rolls. The prices were reasonable but i do wish that they offered a special for being new but i'm sure it will do well based on the freshness of the fish and the hospitality. read more

Decided to try a local spot tonight and we're very glad we came in tonight. Haven't been since they first opened up, they have def stepped up big time in all aspects. The food was very tasty, and it was popping for a Monday spot, kudos guys! The young lady that was helping us was by herself but she was hustling and attending to all her tables, thank you for your great service. They have a little outdoor patio which is nice for those cool summer evenings, maybe next time we'll try outdoor seating, very nice and decorated. Overall the food was tasty and very reasonable, we usually spend about $100 at AYCE but tonight it was about half the price for a good amount of food.
