We have been eating here for many years but yesterday was extremely disappointing. Service was terrible, waiting forever for our food, Finally the bus boy put our food down totally confused. Our fingers and toes was disgusting as the food was probably sitting there forever.and our server was so busy sitting people and ignoring us totally. What a find! Visiting Marco Island and found this gem. Great food and service. The prices were quite reasonable as well. Our table ordered the whitefish platter, one fried and another with lemon pepper. Each one was better than the other! We got a side order of chili - never had better! The fries were terrific. Hilarious T shirts, my boyfriend was wearing it on a cruise when someone stopped him to ask him where he got it since she had seen it once and been looking for it for 15 years! Sad it's getting a bit touristy, and took away some pool tables to ensure they had a full set of game balls but staff like Laszlo make you feel like it still has that friendly neighbor dive bar charm. Last week we renewed our love affair with a local favorite, The Sand Bar. Well one week to the day we went back for their Prime Rib special. A thick, perfectly cooked to a pink medium rare and presented flawlessly meal. It comes with baked potato and sauteed seasonal vegetables. My wife ordered the same thing but couldn't even finish as it was SOOOOO plentiful for just $19.99. To our good fortune, our server was once again Asia, who continues to wow us. They have construction inside (Dec 2018) and everything is so dusty. There were so many bottles, napkins, jars on the table we could not fit all the plates (only 4 people). Half of those bottles were empty...and the table itself was a bit sticky/dirty. But servers were friendly. Food was not bad too. One of our must visit spots on Marco Island. Be warned - it's a bit hard to find! The first year we came down to visit we tried to find it - but were so frustrated- we just gave up. If you are heading north on Bald Eagle, turn RIGHT once you pass the boat shop - then you'll see it at the end of a large weird parking lot. This is a great place to go after a day in the boat or at the beach. Flip flops, bathing suits and baseball hats are the perfect attire. Food is good, drinks are cheap and there are a ton of games and activities for kids as well - a free wii, pool, video games and more. The best part - happy hour! You can get mini tacos for .25 each. They are SOOOO GOOD. There are really no words. Mini-sloppy joe, mini hot dogs and more. I love a place that sells mini food! This is a place where you won't find a lot of tourists - it's mostly locals; boat captains, deck hands, etc. and this is where they come after work. They also have NTN trivia, video poker and beer pong for those nights when you want to pretend you are in college again. Once I got the order cocktail sauce was included. They brought "tarter sauce" in a few minutes. No Idea what it was. White gooey sauce in a small bowl. Bad taste, yuk. No resemblance to tarter sauce. Still one of the best places on Marco Island. This may be a perfect Dive Bar. It doesn't even have hipsters. This may be the only place in Florida that has a pork tenderloin sandwich. Yelp - you never fail! Looking for reasonably priced and delicious food in Marco island is no easy task especially on a Sunday. This was it! You'd never find this place from any main street here but thanks to Yelp we did and so glad we did. Of course we had to try the buffalo chicken dip, the reviews made it sound like the must try of this spot and our waitress's eyes concurred. Phenomenal, outstanding, amazing, sensational are just a few words that came out of my family's mouths as the dug in to this dip. It's all my dad can do to not lick the bowl. Next it was fingers and toes for the table. The fish was cooked perfectly. Just melted in your mouth. And my oyster sandwich was delicious. We ordered the way too much food. One plate would have been good for 2 people easily but I got plans for that fish. My dad had his mind on a piece of key lime pie but I had read the reviews on the Reese's pie so we asked our waitress Rhonda (who btw was amazing) and without hesitation she responded "Reese's!".
