Then I discovered the Thursday chicken and dumplings, which is what I had today and why I am finally letting you all in on where to get excellent chicken and dumplings if Dish (off Central) is too far away. Like everything we've ordered at Roasting Company, the serving is generous and stick-to-your-ribs delicious. Don't let the size fool you, if you're going for takeout; that 16oz container is filled to the brim with a thick mix of tender shredded chicken, dumpling noodles and a dense, flavorful sauce. Mind you, all the chicken and sides I've tried there are good to excellent (except I didn't really care for the smoked cheese and pasta salad). My husband swore by the chicharrons and the chips and queso or guacamole are solid sides. So if you happen by there after the chicken and dumplings has sold out - which happens pretty much every Thursday - or it's another day of the week, you can't miss with their regular menu or their other specials.
