The butterfly shrimp.... It was my first time at this local restaurant and anytime I'm in the area, I'm definitely going back to get more!

Place desperately needs a renovation or just major cleaning. I'd be willing to give a nice review if they would clean up the joint.

Stopped here on way to plantations. Great place for lunch! I had the shrimp po'boy and hubby had the Cajun burger. Both were quick and good!

Came with my girlfriends a few days before. The seafood gumbo was just okay. The service was good but the building was relatively old.

Several QR codes to sign up for rewards and leave a review, which is fine, and easy to complete, but sometimes it's good to just enjoy a good biscuit. I had the vicious. Amazing. It wasn't spicy like I thought it'd be. They did a good job balancing sweet/spice.

So we are visiting this area for the weekend and got a recommendation to eat here for breakfast…read more We get there about 9:30 or so and know it will probably be busy. We were not wrong, the line was to the door. The slogans on the walls and everything in the restaurant was neat and well organized. I read the two comments on the chalk board and my expectation for high quality food increased significantly. Sadly, that would be it. Two registers looked available, but only one was working. The guy taking orders seemed new and friendly. Unfortunately, his conversation tended to move away from taking orders and trying to make small talk with the customers. This made waiting in line borderline intolerable, especially with the child behind me jumping up and down on the wall leading to the register (thank goodness one of the parents finally made her stop). Once at the register, it seemed that the guy was new (or newer) and struggled with the orders a little bit. After repeating my order a few times, he got it. We went to the "Jam Bar" for coffee and water. The sweetener was almost out, there was no cream and one urn was out (the lady was prepping the empty urn for new coffee). I commented about the cream, but was completely ignored by the employee. Another employee came up and I asked her about the cream. She pointed at the 4-5 single serve creamers there and said that was it. I asked about the metal pitcher and she said, "Oh yeah, that has some too." I told her it was empty. She looked confused and then picked it up and left. So, I just served old coffee in my cup that I had to go find since no one offered it to me ($3.50/cup, I would have assumed it would be pristine, but not so much and no one seemed concerned). Now to the meal: I ordered the Vicious Benny and Old School Breakfast. The Vicious Benny was mediocre at best. The ham and hollandaise were good, but the biscuit was grainy and the over easy egg was runny and a little slimy. And there wasn't a whole lot of taste to the meal. The OS Breakfast was much better, but still not a lot of flavor. The bacon was pretty good and flavorful. The eggs and potatoes were cooked well, just no seasoning. Overall, such a sad experience. Maybe my expectations were too high based on what I saw and the crowd when I went into the restaurant.

The bathrooms are clean even if one of the doors doesn't latch well. We tried the chocolate Bavarian cream stuffed beignets and the regular beignets and the cafe au lait. The beignets are the best I had anywhere. They were a nice size and they were light and fluffy and covered in powdered sugar. The cafe au lait was just ok, I think we liked it better the cafe au lait mixed half and half with the French roast coffee for a stronger coffee flavor. The service was great. Very friendly and helpful and we don't wait too long to take our food with us. You can sit and eat in also but we were on our way through. We loved how coffee house is tucked into a little antique shop Cajun village. It has Cajun country music playing and there are stuffed gators around and lot of interesting antiques. I wish it were closer to more things to do, but if you're on the road from Nola to Baton Rouge it is a definite must! I really hope to go back with more time and try more interesting things.

After about four visits here it is time to review. You will notice this little diner if you look…read morecarefully while driving down Airline and notice it is flanked on each side by a little gas station (Shell I believe) and a Casino. Parking is slight but if you get here around 6:15 a.m. in the mornings you should not have much of a problem. The semi elderly lady is very hard working and pretty speedy. I forgot her name but I'll go back and correct this later, you'll know her, she's about 60 with the body of a 30 year old but she is a diligent worker an asset to this place. HOWEVER, the cook that is in the back if you should have the unfortunate time to have her cook your breakfast is horrid. The last time I was here I was enjoying the Ribeye breakfast with a co-worker and without exaggerating it took an hour and some minutes for her to get the food out. This contributed to her coming out of the kitchen to take a phone order in which her duty was to stay in the kitchen and punch list the tickets placed in the back. My co worker and I ordered our steaks at 6:15 and did not get them until about 7:20. Yes, they were about 3/4 " thick ribeyes but you can tell she would get the tickets mixed up in the back and not go in order that she was given. The other times that I have had my meals cooked by her the food would be a little on the salty side. Biscuits and Gravy, hash browns, eggs you name it. The other cook that I've seen cook back there is a male guy that is very fast and I do not think I have had anything bad tasting or over done come from him. Thursday nights are steak nights. $14 and I hear it gets packed so Friday morning is the best time to get you a nice Ribeye steak breakfast with hash browns, eggs and toast for $15. The interior is nothing fancy, about 12 out dated tables, industrial thin carpeting and 1970's wood paneled walls. Come to think of it if you want a blast from the past circa 70's here is your place. There is a television here that you can view while you are waiting for your food. The restrooms down the halls are atrocious since it is shared with the next door gas station. The food here is pretty much good ol comfort food. I took pics of the menu's so you can get an idea of what is here. Best viewed on a screen bigger than 12" and not a smart phone.

I hear a lot of bad things about this place but always remember that one good meal and experience…read morethat I had years and years ago. When I found myself in the area again this week, I decided to give it a shot and relive that experience. What a change. Guess they were right. I remember a delicious crawfish étouffée that I had when I went the first time which is no longer on the menu. It's mostly just fried food and hamburgers. I ordered the overstuffed shrimp Poboy that the woman said was the most popular item on the menu. It was overstuffed all right, but the shrimp were hard as rubber and tasted like they had been cooked in week old oil. It was an hour before closing so maybe that was it but that is not an excuse. I'll still think about that delicious crawfish étouffée that I had years and years ago, and try my hardest to forget this terrible meal. The Poboy itself was around $15 and the fries were two dollars extra. To their credit, they were crinkly fries, which are always my favorite and they were delicious. I wish I would've never went back and kept my memories, but I did. Perhaps I'll give it another shot one day. I hear the gumbo is good, which was the special of the day, but it was too hot for that all the day I went. Lots of interesting things inside, it looks like a roadside attraction almost. I can't understand why there's not more restaurants in this area as they are several plantations that people most likely go to visit and would likely decide to have lunch somewhere. Almost anything would blow this one out the water. I still dig the ambience. The alligator dressed in a chef suit, the interesting painting on the bathroom wall, the old country/Cajun feel but aside from that, what happened, B & C Seafood?
